Sooo...Meet-y

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their number. After the recent revelation, many of them were even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Brainiac 5 and Sensor were set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

The bald and elderly man standing shortly after Brainiac 5 and Sensor might have been familiar to some. It all depended on what they knew and what reality they were from. Regardless, Picard greeted everyone with the same cordiality and warm tone, regardless of their own familiarity to him. "Hello and welcome aboard," he said. "My name is Jean-Luc Picard; I'm the captain of this vessel and her crew. I regret that your arrival had to be under such circumstances, but they cannot be helped, I'm afraid."

Gaius was wasting no time in examining the equipment that had been handed to him, and it seemed that a very likely permanent new worry line had been carved into his forehead.

He'd been promised some answers here, either way. The genial looking man who proclaimed himself to be Captain was not a Cylon model that Gaius had seen before. As he scanned the room for any faces that might be disturbingly familiar, he began to wonder what it meant if he there were none.

"Captain Picard," he said, trying to preserve what dignity he could in his tone given that he could still vividly recall the feeling of being covered in mucous moments before. "Is this a Cylon vessel?" If it was, he saw no reason they would hide it anymore, especially not from him. Though they did enjoy inflicting mind games on him in particular - perhaps this was some new brand of torment.

Static stood on his disk, arms crossed and hovering near the door, not too far from Brainy. He was eagerly waiting to see just who might come through; he was hoping to see Rocket or Black Lightning, but even some of the other heroes, just...someone else from his time, really. It'd be nice not to have to explain who he was for once.

But, if that didn't work, he'd just be a tour guide. He was good at that.

Alia Atreides still felt off balance, and confused. She woke up and then everything happened so fast... it was strange and disorienting. The wound on her heart from the loss her her brother was still fresh on her heart, and this wakening made her long for her love, Duncan, more than she could imagine was possible.

Some how, I don't think I'm in Arakeen anymore...

As stepped through the door, accepting her new, strange items, and fallowing the other. Despite her inner confusion her face was a flawless picture of calm and serenity, the eyes that marked her as a fremen, blue with in blue, scanned the other around her from behind lowered lids.

There was confusion, a slight, but relatively handsome man near her was talking about ships and 'sy-lawns', whatever that was. Surely there was no where in the known universe where she would not be known, she was St Alia of the Knife! The emperor regent, ruler of the whole universe...
Then someone in the crowd caught her eye, not even a someone but the flash of spice eyes... but... who's?

Alia strained to look deeper at the people around her, but found herself overwhelmed by the mass of unknown faces.
But then, she could have been wrong.

Ghanima had been sitting by one of the large windows, watching as she always did as the new crew members began to trickle in. As always, she was hoping that Leto would be among those who wandered in.

An Atreides did appear, just not the one she had been hoping for. Alia, her aunt.

Feeling a mixture of emotions, Ghani slowly rose to her feet. Taking a deep breath, she steadied herself and pushed through the crowd, making her way to the Aunt she'd thought she'd never see again.

She wasn't sure what she'd say to her. Would she be the abomination Ghani had last seen her as?

"Aunt... Alia?" Ghani called out softly as she approached the other Atreides. Alia looked so much younger than she remembered.

Rikku reviewed the past few minutes in her head. She'd been cleaned up (good), dressed in some weird suit that she could feel move, (not good and creepy), and also had been given back her blue headband, her red scarf, and her daggers (very, very good). Now, she was walking around, getting on her tiptoes and trying to see if there was anyone she knew caught up in this mess with her. Heck, she'd even be happy to see Brother at this point. Hands were curled firmly around the handles of her daggers, the metal a security blanket of sorts.

After the unsettling of meeting Alia Atreides, of all people, Sheeana had gone back to searching for more Fremen.

She thought, for a moment she'd found one in Rikku. Same slimness with very little water-fat. Daggers carried at the hip. But the eyes weren't blue-within-blue and the daggers, on closer inspection, weren't curved like crysknives.

Still, it was worth it to say hello and find out what her deal was. "Those are interesting daggers." She said with her best diplomatic expression.

Arha sat cross-legged on the floor, waiting. Truth be told, she did not know what she was waiting for--whether it be for someone from her Arrakis or someone from Obi-Wan's universe, or for someone else entirely. The fact remained that she was waiting because she was certain this was a thing to do. Her blue-within-blue eyes swept the Observation Deck as she studied faces and took in the new ones, her stare one of intense scrutiny that yet held more curiosity than anything else.

These were to be her crewmates, these people, and each face was one she would commit to memory so she would, at the least, remember. If they caught her staring, it was her smile that lit her face and gave them welcome. Pod-pop was confusing enough, no one needed hostility when they had more questions than thought. Perhaps Ghanima would find her brother, Leto. Perhaps Sheeana might find Duncan. All was possible. For herself, Arha wished nothing save the happiness of those she had become close to, those she called friends.

And that was enough.

She had waited until she was sure Alia had left hearing range, then dropped to a crouch next to her Sister. "Alia Atreides is here." She said in a harsh, agitated whisper.

Dick had his omnicomm out, working on lists. Mostly pertaining to his team, but also to the Outsiders and what powered kids were on the ship and where the next place to concentrate reconstruction efforts might be. There were also lists of questions about the Ohm and whether they could trust their new found 'allies'.

In other words, Dick was multi-tasking like a pro. While still paying attention to who was coming through the door.

Jason yawned as he followed Dick around. He really didn't get why he was here, but hey, maybe he'd get lucky and someone he actually cared about would show. But the seeing as he cared about fewer than ten people in the world, that was looking slim. Not to mention that most of the people where already on board. Who else could... Jason stopped and blinked a bit. Had he just seen who he thought he saw?

Mal stood in one corner of the room, watching the people coming and going, feeling a lot better now that he'd gotten cleaned up and dressed (though he didn't exactly like what he was wearing... but he figured it was better than nothing). He stood there for a few minutes, still looking around at the people who were also there, before deciding that he wanted to walk around a bit, and see more of what was going on.

Hopefully he'd find someone who was a bit more knowledgeable about the situation.

Matt stood to the side, mind in a whirl. The Ohm, a group of reality destroyers. Made him wonder if everything he had done was, well, up to snuff. He was the normal boyfriend and yet...

Magic curled around his hand, and he tried to suppress it. There was nothing he could do anymore.

And if his reality was gone... so was Will, even though he could feel her presence.

Sometimes it sucked to be the normal boyfriend. Especially since he was still a complete and utter fool.

And her happiness at seeing him is snuffed out almost as soon as she registers it, because - no, not Matt, not here. Out of all the people to wake up for a deadly mission of zombies and aliens and whole worlds destroyed, out of all of her friends, did it have to be the one who could get hurt the most, and most easily, and whose getting hurt would hurt HER hardest?

He could see. This was always a good thing, the seeing. This was a bit much. At least his hair was restored to its usual-- green Jewfro-type business. And he'd suited up, the great glorious bastard, back to being comfortable and NOT naked. And NOT slimed. And it didn't take long, did it, to get a roach hanging out of his mouth, smoke sifting slowly towards the ceiling. He had his hands in his pockets. Spike was confused.

'Chosen,' that was the vocabulary word for the day. 'Chosen' for. Aliens, or. He hadn't soaked it all in just yet, he had to mull, and there was a numb kind of look on his face as he stood just off to the side, peering about the other people in the room and not recognizing a damn one. "Greater purpose my-- ass," he was muttering under his breath, not even really SMOKING the cigarette, per se, just felt more comfortable with one hanging from his mouth, for the time being.

The ship was alive, and as such had an omnipresent background odor all of its own, but there was no mistaking the smell of cigarette smoke wafting through the air. Its source was easy enough to identify, too - the tall, lanky man off to the side, leaning up against the wall.

"I didn't know Stacy had that sort of thing in her storage," Nanoha chuckled as she approached him. "I think she seems like more of the environmental type."

Kyle was used to uniforms and the like, but whatever he was wearing now was a bit odd. He was just going to ignore it for now, if he really needed to change it he could. This ship had somehow managed to get a hold of his ring (really, shouldn’t that have gone directly to Mogo…) which he was thankful for. A lantern without his ring was like a sundae without the cheery or Elvis with broken hips, it just didn’t work.

After being ushered to get his belonging (which included his power battery…luckily, did anyone really want Parallax running around free?) Kyle stepped through the door. HE wasn’t sure what to expect, but he certainly wasn’t going to run through guns blazing…. That was Guy’s job anyway.

Jason knew he shouldn't have come to this stupid thing. After the brat had come running at him, and having to deal with that headache it couldn't it worse. Of course as soon as he thought that he turned to see one of the mugs he had been hoping he'd never see. Unless he was being honest, then he was kind of relieved to see the Green Lantern.

He stormed over to the guy and crossed his arms over his chest, full out glaring. Even if he was secretly glad to see him, he couldn't let anyone know. That would defeat the purpose was being an asshole.

If he had a pen, he might have a sign saying "Stargate Command Personnel Here". Or, maybe not. Probably not. He didn't, so there was no reason to contemplate the possibility overmuch.

So far, there hadn't been anyone arrived since him--and given that Ronon and Jackson were the only ones before him, there hadn't been very many before, either. He preferred the term 'arrived' over 'awakened'. There were no good connotations to the idea that his team might be sleeping somewhere miles into the pod caverns and never get around to being released.

He didn't like much of any of the connotations the ship's operations had, really. He preferred to think the whole place was a delusion he'd soon snap out of.

Even so. It would be nice to finally see a familiar face. Particularly a familiar face which actually recognized him in return. So, here he was, waiting on Obs Deck, studying new faces for a flicker of recognition.

Indigo walked through everything passively. The cleaning. The 'clothing;'. The possessions. There was nothing for her, she found. None of the Outsiders were around, either, but she recognized several of the heroes that had been there.

She had recognized Nightwing, out of uniform, but in the mask. However, he was off to the side. Captain Picard was the one speaking. And, even for her, the concepts he was describing were unsettling. Their home universe, destroyed?

If she were human, she might have dropped to her knees at such a statement. But Indigo kept listening, considering the idea of restoration. It doesn't seem possible to destroy something that was wiped out, but... "If all we have to do is win this war, then we can start on it..." She doesn't realize she's speaking out loud.

Damian is unimpressed. Grayson's here, and even worse, Todd. Who Grayson apparently isn't worrying about. Fine. He can be foolishly trusting. Damian isn't letting his guard down.

He's got his mask can cape and belt, plus his sword. He's perfectly capable of defending himself and Grayson and whoever Todd decides to target. Even without killing.

He looks around, wondering if Mother's here, or anyone else he knows.

Cissie didn't really see anyone she knew, but she did spot the bright yellow cape and tilted her head.

"You know that cape really doesn't go with the plantsuit." Then again this was the girl wondering around in a modified Arrowette costume over her plantsuit. Though the skirt didn't look so bad over it, like she was wearing tights.

Some people came to these events to see who was there. Others came to be seen.

Lex was the latter. The bald man in the $3200 coat moved through the crowd, looking over the new arrivals in a rather casual fashion.

...Well. That was interesting. Indigo will just work her way through the crowd, to doublecheck and see if her eyes were tricking her. And... Apparently not.

She stops, about an arm's distance away, and cooly stares up at Lex. "President Luthor." It's not a cold greeting, but not a friendly one either. More like she's acknowledging his presence than anything else.

Fate was tugging at the strange suit she had been forced into. It would have been comfortable had it not been for the strange pulsing, so she was really looking forward to getting into some more normal clothes. But of course, there were more pressing matters to attend to first. She held up a small, golden pendant... and spoke to it. "Bardiche, do you know where we are?"

"Negative. Current position unknown," And surprisingly, the pendant talked back!

"I see..." Fate frowned a little, then turned her gaze from the pendant in her hand to the crowd of people gathered in the strange room. Surely someone here would have some answers, right?

Nanoha had been mingling with the new people, trying her best to make them feel at home in the strange, alien and lonely environment - she remembered how confused and out-of-place she'd felt months before - but it really wasn't possible to introduce herself to everyone. People entered while she was busy talking to other people, and while she was doing her best to greet them all, it was a slightly Herculean task.

And then, through the sounds of the crowd and the chatter, she heard something and froze in her tracks. It was almost impossible to hear clearly, but it sounded like a synthetic male voice that Nanoha knew rather well.

No.

No, it couldn't be. Nanoha spun around in place, her eyes frantically scanning the crowd. No, no. She couldn't let herself get her hopes up like that, she shouldn't let herself hear things that weren't there, but--

--there. Against the dull green of the plantsuit, a slender figure in the crowd whose back was turned to her, but that head of long blonde hair was unmistakable, and she'd recognize it anywhere. Her heart was pounding furiously in her chest now as she squeezed her way through the crowd as quickly as she dared. Nanoha was afraid that it would have been an illusion, a trick of her mind that had projected her deepest hopes onto reality, and it wouldn't be...

...but it was.

The oddities of what was currently going on didn't seem to end there with Ollie seemingly appearing in this strange place. He was offered a suit, a suit that he would not stop continuously picking and prodding at with his hands. He could feel it, it was doing something and he didn't like it at all. But, at least he's no longer covered in goo...

As people gather, Ollie just seems to stand there, still concerned with the suit of is, even going as far as to utter some low obscenities on how to take the damned thing off. Its a distraction really. The man has no idea where he is, or what is going on - even who most of these people are, so picking at the suit was just an outward manifestation of his nervousness and paranoia setting in.

Go, Ollie.

Cissie's eyes widened a bit as she spotted the blond man and then quickly tried to get out of his eye sight. She wasn't sure she ever wanted to meet the Green Arrow, and she definitely didn't want to do it here on Stacy, at least not without like Wonder Girl or Superboy by her side.

However the crowd was getting a bit big to hide, and she was wearing a very bright red costume over the plant suit.

The tentacle experience had been rushed and awkward. Tora found herself shuffled through the masses of people coming up into the next room and those filtering down to meet the newly arrived.

"Excuse me could I..."

"Beg your pardon but..."

"Hello I'm..."

People were moving past her with their own needs and priorities. "Well, it certainly is a fast paced place." Tora slipped to the edge of the crowd, smiling and waving at no one in particular, or perhaps the entire populace at large. "I'm bound to meet someone..eventually."

"Greetings." The echoing, hollow tone of Khel's voice sounded from not far to Guy's side. It never ceased to amaze the undead warrior how silently he could move while maneuvering in almost a hundred pounds of solid plate mail.

Beka had ripped off a piece of her suit... garment. Thing, and used it to tie her hair back. It wasn't her spiked rap, but it was something. Walking around she started to look for superiors, be it hers, or whomever ran this... operation.

One of the superiors was nearby, and Beka had even caught his attention. He was checking her out from a distance, but as she walked by, he put on his "authority" face.

"Welcome aboard the Good Ship Carneceria, amiga," Luis said pleasantly. "You look like you're on a mission."

It was, it seems, to much to hope for that Elisa would arrive with this new wave of human crew. Goliath finds neither sight, nor scent of her anywhere in the crowd.

He sighs once as he lingers at the edge of the crowd, watching old friends reuniting, learning the faces of new and old shipmates.

Red Snout lurked on the edges of the crowd, hoping against hope for the sight of another raptor, familiar or not. He ached to see one of his own kind...but it seemed he was not so lucky this time.

Jean hovered near the edges of the crowd, watching the new crew as they slowly migled with the older ones. At least this batch would be more informed of what was truly going on.

Sighing, she moved slowly around the crowd, her gaze moving slowly over every face, searching for someone she knew. She wouldn't be surprised id someone recognized her. It happened a lot. But it would be nice to know someone for a change.

The alien plopped down on the floor of the meatship, gave a casual wave to a retreating tentacle that had (somewhat unwillingly) transported him here with one hand while adjusting his visor with the other, and got his first good view of what he was dealing with.

As with the first time he had woken up someplace new, the first things Aeneas recognized were the sentients. The previous ones were called Awesonians—a pleasant race, if not rather self-centered and ignorant—and they had been taking care of him for the past two years. How long Aeneas remained with these creatures remained to be seen. Regardless, they were much more…enigmatic than the Awesonians—if he could be so blunt. Nearly hairless (covered instead by a layer of porous skin with a precarious dollop of fur upon their scalp), the ungainly bipeds appeared so unnatural that Aeneas wondered if they were all the products of some odd experiment meant to produce a new species. It would certainly explain why there were so many of them. Goodness, they were everywhere! And they talked constantly in an odd, guttural gibberish that made the alien’s auricles throb.
He silently thanked Stacy for whatever translator device she had installed within herself—if not, he most likely would’ve gone mad from the noise.

Otherwise, they had a keen affinity for clothing and they were all freaking out in a fairly uniform fashion. It would be Aeneas, therefore, that would be the outcast in this group. Throughout his existing memory he had been this person, however, so this was nothing new.

“ ‘Nothing new’…” thought Aeneas, a smirk creasing his eyes and brow, “That’s a phrase I don’t use every day.”

In relation to the creatures around him, Aeneas stood out pretty much on his own. He stood roughly six feet tall at both ends, but his body, when rolled out, was comparatively long, just barely scraping the ten foot mark. And yet, Aeneas only weighed a meager 180 pounds. He figured it had something to do with his internal composition, but he really hadn’t had the chance to do any ‘exploring’ of his own on the matter (and frankly he preferred to keep it that way). Regardless, the flowing, blue-striped fur would’ve been plenty to catch the attention of these experiments—an observation that Aeneas made with a fine helping of irony.

But appearance alone was not all that made Aeneas stick out. He was extremely, almost annoyingly calm. He walked with a timely grace, making sure that he got in all the sights before he moved on. The reason for this was simple—and therefore can wait to be explained in more detail. For now, Aeneas figured it would be a good time to figure out just what these creatures were.
And what better way than to go up and ask one?

The ‘head honcho’, as far as Aeneas could fathom he was, appeared a little too busy to make the alien comfortable. Instead he found what appeared to be a female of the species, looking from afar with an expression in her eyes that conveyed a mix of curiosity and, perhaps, mild disappointment. It was hard to tell with a species that used their mouths more than their eyes.

He approached casually, a soft purr rising in his throat. By itself it would be soothing, enough to calm the nerves or ease the pain of any suffering individual. With Stacy’s translating system, though, it eventually manifested as speech.

“Hello,” he blinked with squinted lavender eyes that seemed rather quizzical, “This may be an odd question to ask, but what species are you exactly?”

Kirk hovered on the edges of the crowd, trying to find people who looked confused or needed help. At least it seemed like some of the crew knew each other this time around.

Saito scanned the strange crowd for a frowning purple-haired cyborg. She'd be at the edges, where she could keep her back to a wall and an eye on everyone--ah. Disregarding the rest of the crew, he headed over.

Really, she could have warned him about the tentacles.

Yes, yes she could have. She watched him from the moment he came into sight, verifying with her own eyes the data her commlink had fed her. It was just Saito, as he always was. She inclined her head as he approached— if he didn't have questions she'd offer the link.

Terry had decided to come and try to mingle a bit. He really needed to do more of that. Really, he was a pretty friendly guy, normally. He'd just been out of his element lately. Meeting people might distract him from moping.

He just hoped no one mentioned his left hand, which was wrapped up his medical tape. It's was a bit embarrassing how he broke it. He also really, really didn't want to run into Jean-Paul.

Hal decided that he would let Ollie take all this in and wait until he's a bit calmer and leave him with the bat for now. After chatting a bit with them, Hal decided that he was going to mingle a bit to see who was in this ship that seems to be alive. Mainly to see if there was anyone else he knew. Most of the people in here seemed to be calm so he figured on adapting. For now.

Walking normally, he seemed to have bumped shoulders with someone who looked to be about.... hmm? A teenager? Someone who just turned 18? Hal couldn't really figure out. Everyone seems to have been growing up so fast these days.

"Sorry about that, son," Hal stopped and apologized. Though looking at him now, there seemed to have been something strangely familiar about him. But couldn't pinpoint it.
