Sooo...Meet-y

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their number. After the recent revelation, many of them were even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Brainiac 5 and Sensor were set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

"A bit, yeah. A few months, though it's hard to keep track of time here." Dick sits back, watching but not being overt about it. "Right now, we're in a bit of a lull between crises. You missed the zombies."

She nods. Okay. And with the zombies, it's hard not to give off a little smile. "I never liked Night of the Living Dead as much as Shift." She thought it was corny and overdone. "It's good to see that at least one of the Outsiders is here, though. Are there any others?"

"Believe me, when you're hip deep in them, nobody is a fan of Night of the Living Dead." Seriously, Dick was in that damned sonic shower for an hour afterward getting that crud off. He shook his head slowly. "No. None of the other Outsiders. Batman and Robin are here. Some of the younger heroes." He pauses. "No, wait. Captain Boomerang? Is apparently an Outsider sometime in the near future. The younger one, I mean."

She chuckles a bit at the first, but falls silent at the bad news. "...With at least two of us here, and more heroes from our world, there are very good odds that everyone else is in those pods. Until we find a way to scan them, however, we will just have to cross our fingers."

Dick nods. "We've been told that other heroes and our loved ones are in those pods. So I'm sure that our teammates are in there somewhere." And Alfred. He had to believe that. "We've been told that it might be possible for our worlds to be restored once the Ohm are out of the picture, but nobody's pinning their hopes on that too much."

"I think it would be better to think that way," she comments. "After all. With as many pods as Stacy has, with as many different worlds, I don't think that everyone would be able to stay on one world. If we treat it like our worlds will return, others might not worry so much."

He smiled a bit at that. No mirth or happiness, but a smile. "Can't help it. I'm a bit too much of a pragmatist to really take it to heart." Blame Batman. "I'm hoping so, though. I was in the middle of a fight to keep the world in one piece. I'd really hate for that to have been a waste."

"You are who you are." She shrugs lightly, glancing away for a moment. "I find that the odds are stacked very highly against us. The idea that we will win a war waging across the... omniverse within your lifetimes is extremely far fetched."

That he had to grin at, though. "Fights against the odds when they're deeply stacked against us? Gotta say, Indigo. That's usually when we're at our best."

Okay, he wasn't certain if he should trust her. But she didn't SEEM to be acting like Brainiac 8. Which was probably all the more reason not to trust her, honestly, but he hadn't told her anything sensitive yet.
