Sooo...Meet-y

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their number. After the recent revelation, many of them were even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Brainiac 5 and Sensor were set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

... Well, Fate couldn't say she was expecting that. She was suddenly very aware of the crowd around them, and she really hoped nobody decided to look over at this particular moment.

Her embarassment didn't stop her from returning the kiss, though.

She held it for longer than she might have otherwise, and for the time being Nanoha really couldn't have cared less about the crowd around them because her Fate was here.

She broke it off, and even if her cheeks were still streaked with tears, the smile was warm and genuine. "I missed you, you know."

"... I'm sorry," Again, Fate apologized. She knew it wasn't her fault for being stuck inside that pod for however long Nanoha had been waiting... but how long had she been hurting? How long had Nanoha been wishing to see her, to have confirmation that she hadn't been caught in Mid-Childa's destruction...?

It may not have been her fault, but she still felt a little guilty.

"Stop apologizing!"

She'd missed this more than she'd realized. Her arms went around the other girl again, hugging her tightly as she rested her chin on Fate's shoulder. "I'm just happy to be with you again," she said softly.

"Alright, alright..." Fate sighed, placing a hand on Nanoha's head. "I just wish I was released sooner... it hurts, seeing you like this."

"Always nice to see a familiar face, isn't it?"

Satori floated forward through the crowd. Of course, she immediately recognized Fate as the one who she had seen in Nanoha's mind during their duel. She smiled in much the way that someone smiles when they know something that you don't. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person."

Upon hearing a new voice, Fate's face turned bright red as she quickly let go of Nanoha, stepping back a few paces. Poor, self-conscious Fate.

"Oh, um... h-hello," she stuttered as she turned from Nanoha to the newcomer, trying to get her racing heart under control. "You know me...?"

Sorry, Fate, but Nanoha wouldn't be letting go so easily - she kept her hand on her arm as she turned to see who it was - and she frowned. "Satori-chan," the name wasn't said quite as affectionately as the suffix implied, "Don't you think it's a little rude to interrupt a conversation like that?"

Satori lightly brushed off the criticism. "I simply thought that after our match, it would be proper of me to meet your friend properly. I could do so later, if you wish."

"I don't think interrupting a private conversation is very proper at all," Nanoha sighed.

"Fate-chan, this is Satori-chan. She's another magic user," Nanoha paused for a moment, "...and she's also a telepath."

Fate had fought down most of her embarassement by now, so she bowed politely as Nanoha introduced her. "I-It's nice to meet you, Satori."

Of course, questions on how exactly the other girl knew her were flying around Fate's head, and thus were easily readable(hearable?) to Satori.

"I had a match with Nanoha earlier," Satori explained to the unspoken question in Fate's head. "I wanted to demonstrate my abilities succinctly, so I ended up using your abilities against her."

Nanoha nodded, remembering - and hoping that Satori were living up to her word to not peek inside her mind. "It was certainly a surprise."

That was an understatement, but Fate didn't really need to know how angry she'd gotten.

Fate couldn't really get an idea of how angry Nanoha had gotten, but now at least she had an idea of why her friend seemed to be a little on edge. If someone had suddenly used Starlight Breaker in a fight against her, during a time where Nanoha was possibly dead...

She shuddered, trying to push the thought out of her mind.

"Well, I of all people can tell when I should be treading lightly." Satori rose to float away, through the crowd of other newcomers. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Fate."

As Satori floated through the crowd of people, Nanoha exhaled, looking over at Fate and slipping her hand down the other girl's arm to take her hand, giving it an affectionate little squeeze. "I think she means well," she said, "She just... isn't used to working with people."
