Sooo...Meet-y

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their number. After the recent revelation, many of them were even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Brainiac 5 and Sensor were set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

Unfortunately, Miss Indigo, you were. And you were in earshot of one Nanoha Takamachi.

"Oh? Start on what?"

She blinks, turning to stare at Nanoha. Smoothly, she looks at Picard, and back. "Captain Picard mentioned that it was possible to rebuild our universe." And, really, that's all she needs to say.

"I think we'd all like to think that," she said quietly. "But even if it isn't, I think it's still a cause worth fighting for."

Nanoha paused. "I'm sorry - I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Nanoha."

"Do you think that he's telling the truth?" There's no hostility there, just information gathering. "I, for one, would like to have a home to return to."

She nods. "Nanoha. My name is Indigo." A small smile crosses her face. "Despite the circumstances, it's nice to meet you."

"I don't know," Nanoha admitted. "But we have to hope he is. If it isn't, though... isn't it worth making sure that no one else has to go through the same thing?"

She returns the smile lightly, her expression and tone belying the words coming out of her mouth. "It's nice to meet you too, Indigo. Welcome to the ship."

"This is true, though with how many pods I saw..." Indigo trails off, shrugging lightly. "In any case, I will have to put up with being on this ship. There's no use complaining."

"That's a good attitude to have, Indigo. We have to make the best of it."

It was only logical, but she ends up nodding to agree with Nanoha. No point in arguing, especially if they essentially agreed. "I only hope that we can win this war relatively quickly." She's fully aware that this could take years to accomplish.

That's fine. Indigo has years.

"That'd be nice," she said with a nod. "The quicker we stop them, the better."

She nods again. "I agree. The sooner we do that everyone can go home, and the quicker we can stop the loss of life."

Assuming, of course, that they can win.

"Exactly."

She paused. "So what do you like to do, Indigo?"

She blinks. A shift in conversation she hadn't been expecting. After a moment, she begins to rattle off the list. "I enjoy dance clubs, bowling, jazz and blues music, watercolor painting, and jazz music. I particularly enjoy doing laundry."

"Laundry? ...I guess everyone has their hobbies, huh. I'm pretty sure there are some musicians here on the ship, too - maybe you could talk about jazz and blues with them to pass the time!" Nanoha smiled.

"It would be nice." She nods, offering up a smile in return. She's used to odd looks about the laundry thing. "What about you? Do you have any hobbies?

Nanoha pauses for a moment in thought. "Well, I like to fly," she says after consideration. "I'm kind of a workaholic, you could say - it's rare to get too much free time to myself, and I usually like spending that with my family."

"I enjoy my work, most of the time." She nods. "Flying isn't something I don't pay that much attention to, however." She probably should, a lot of people that do say it's so wonderful, but it's just not something she dwells on. "What do you do?"

"I'm a combat instructor, but there's a bit more to it than just going through the actual drills. And a bit more paperwork than I'd have liked, unfortunately." She tilts her head to the side. "What about you?"

"Ah." She nods a bit, as if she knows what that's like. "I am a superhero. I'm a member of the Outsiders." Not that she expects Nanoha to know the name, they aren't globally famous.

"The Outsiders? Really?" Nanoha blinks. "You don't mean the group that Static and Slobo set up here, do you?"

"I've never met anyone with either of those two names." She frowns. "The Outsiders consist of Arsenal, myself, Nightwing, Shift, Grace Choi, Thunder, and Jade. I believe I'd know if some new members joined."

"I haven't met anyone named any of that, either. Static and Slobo started it as a way to give people who didn't feel like they fit in on the ship someplace to belong." She looks thoughtful. "Maybe they were inspired by the group you belonged to? I thought it was a good idea, so I offered to help."

"I know Nightwing is on the ship." She says. The others... No, they're probably in stasis pods. They have to be. "It's a possibility they were inspired. I'll find out later."

"If so, I think I'd find it kind of touching, myself. That the idea of something I'd belonged to was going to places that I'd never been."

She considers it for a moment, then dismisses the thought. She's not sure how she feels on the subject, to tell the truth. "I think I'd rather know about these things." It definitely irritates her, not knowing things.

"Well yeah, that'd kind of be the ideal. But like you said, you'll find out one way or another."
