Sooo...Meet-y

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their number. After the recent revelation, many of them were even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Brainiac 5 and Sensor were set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

Damian composes himself. Looking amazed won't help anything. "How?"

"Darkseid's not a very good shot," he replies obtusely, before kneeling and bracing Damian by the shoulders, "What happened after? Did we stop him?"

Damian nods. "He's dead now. And Grayson's Batman. Drake's-- I suppose if you're actually alive, he isn't insane at all, is he?" This is sort of a disappointment.

He's not so sure why he cares so much. If what the Daligig said was to be believed, the multiverse had ceased to exist whether Darkseid initiated it or not. Still, it was good to here that he'd got what was coming to him.

"Everyone who joins up with me is insane," he says warmly, shuffling the tidbit about Dick to one side for the time being. Pulling off his own cowl, he looks at Damian in his cape and mask with mixed emotions, including a small but not necessarily unnoticible degree of pride. His flesh and blood, "I guess that makes you Robin."

Poor future Dick.

Damian nods. "I am." Hence the costume. "Not to you, as I'd have liked, but I suppose Grayson is alright. Will you come back when we're free of this place?"

[crusades]

"I always do," he replies. He wasn't going to get into the destruction of the universe with Damian now. There were less soul destroying subjects to press on with.

"I-- I'm glad you made it, Damian."

"I-- thank you, Father." He nods. "I'm glad you aren't dead. Can I still be Robin, though?"

Bruce grins and thumbs in Dick's direction, "You'll have to clear it with Batman, but it's fine by me."

Damian raises an eyebrow. "I assumed you'd reclaim the title."

[crusades]

"I was joking," he'd heard it was a fatherly thing to do, "I've always been Batman and I always will be. But I won't always be the only one. You'll have to get used to that as there are others on this ship. Just like you aren't the first or only Robin."

Joking? Father has a sense of humor? Hn.

Damian nodded. "I suppose. Which other Batmen are there, then? I've seen Grayson."

"I'll introduce you to Terry," of course, Damian will beat him to it, "He's from an alternate future, one where I retired. The less you say about... what happened after my disappearance, the better."

It wasn't that he distrusted Terry, more that there was something about the Bat-past that was sensitive to him and needed to be approached carefully.

"Valley... I allowed Jean-Paul to stand in a few years back, when I was incapacitated. He became Azrael eventually, but the one that arrived here is from the past and has yet to learn that. Be careful around him, Damian. He's not well."

What a motley crew they were, the Batmen.

"I've heard of Valley. There's a new Azrael now. Grayson filled me in on the history."

As for Terry... oops. Too late for that. But Damian nodded anyway. "I'll keep it in mind. What does he know so far?"

"I don't know yet, but some things have happened in his universe that never happened in ours. Things to do with Tim. At least, so Dick tells me."

He really hadn't wanted to press the issue. The past didn't seem quite so important anymore.
