Sooo...Meet-y

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their number. After the recent revelation, many of them were even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Brainiac 5 and Sensor were set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

That was something Sheeana had given a lot of thought to. "Stacy has told us that there may be hope. But I operate as if this were not the case. It was a lucky thing then that shai-hulud did come with us."

She saw the shock. It was genuine. It would be too much then for her to tell Alia that the Rakis of her time had been destroyed by the Honored Matres.

So they did have spice. This was good to know. Death was not immanent.
But... Their home was lost.
Alia had only just lost her brother to the desert, and not to find her husband gone, her home. Arakkis... lost.
It was a powerful thing to have to understand. Every love and companion she had, was now gone, perhaps, forever.

The walls and floors and ceiling suddenly felt like a noose, she would die here, strangled by the steel and glass. Already Alia longed for the desert with all her being, to ride the worm into the deep sands like the fremen she was. Or rather, used to be.

She could say nothing, as there was nothing to be said. Shock devoured her words like the guild did her spice.

"What becomes of us now?"

"I have made plans. Our people will survive. Where there is the worm, there will eventually be the desert." Bene Gesserit training did not allow for optimism or pessimism. Sheeana said this because she believed, with all the evidence weighed, that this was the probable outcome.

Yes, we carry the revenant of Dune within our souls.
