Sooo...Meet-y

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their number. After the recent revelation, many of them were even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Brainiac 5 and Sensor were set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

And then suddenly-!
Alia was started by his sudden arrival but refused to let it show on her carefully controlled face.

"Hello." She looked him over, even as he asked the question. Rage instantly build in the back of her mind, but she quelled it only to sharp tongued words.
"I know their secrets, but you will not find my name on the order's list of 'sisters'." Alia took a step back, making her offense obvious.

"Oh, sorry." Unfazed, Luke smiled at her. "I saw your eyes and wondered if you might be. They're the same as those of a few other women here that I know. Are you a..." he thought back to what Arha said, recalling the word. "...Fremen?"

"Of course I'm Fremen." Alia watched him carefully, making sure to absorb the minutest details, especially the sound of his voice.
Just in case.
"But if the only fremen you know are sisters of that wretched order I assure you, very few of them are. And fewer still before I was born. They are a plague on our ways." She could never quite feel satisfied so matter how much slander she spoke on the subject.
"And who are you?"

Luke thought from observing her reactions, that she was one of those who liked titles and authority, so he bowed his head slightly. "Luke Skywalker, Grand Master of the New Jedi Order. It's nice to meet you."

"Alia Atreides. Emperor's Regent." Folding her hands carefully before her and smiled softly, not out of joy, but by training. You could learn something from everyone if you only took the time to... extract the information.
"Pleased to meet you Master Skywalker." She did not bow her head, or move to honor him. Alia bowed to no one.
"So you have a specific interest in Fremen? Perhaps I could enlighten you, with out the veil of the Bene Gesserit deceit."

"Alia." Luke committed the name to memory. "As I said, I was curious." He folded his hands again, thumbs pressed together in the front. "I have friends on this ship that are Fremen, and also Bene Gesserit. One of them has begun training to become a Jedi as I am."

While he talked, Luke stretched out his senses toward this Alia, trying to discern what exactly it was about her that was wrong. He felt the same sense of multiples that he often got with Arha and Sheeana; their Mothers-Within as the other women called them. It was like looking into a nebula full of young stars. But something about her...

"They have told me much, but as you say, perhaps it's deceit." Luke spread his hands, a big Skywalker grin coming easily to his mouth. "I sure hope my friends wouldn't do such a thing though!"

"Then I hope you care careful on whom you call 'friend'." Alia carefully ran a hand through her tousled curls.
"The bene gesserit have done nothing but bring pain and anguish into my family. Their schemes tore us apart, killed my father, my brother, and left it's mark on me as well..." She shifted carefully, feeling awkward and exposed before him for some reason. She thought she could feel those blue eye penetrating into her soul.

And for a moment she wondered what her eyes with look like had it not been for the spice....

"Be careful what you teach her, she may use it to take your water someday."

"I am not teaching her myself, my friend Master Kenobi is," Luke replied. "And I would trust Arha with my life and the lives of my family. By all accounts she is also a diligent student and dedicated to the ways of the Jedi."
