Sooo...Meet-y

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their number. After the recent revelation, many of them were even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Brainiac 5 and Sensor were set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

Alia walked along side her niece, Her hands holding the strange new devices. The chaos of her own mind grew as every ancestor demanded to voice their opinions. They crawled up out of their Pandora's box, no matter how she tried to keep the lid on it, ghostly talons, and warriors hands clawed at her self conscious, demanding their own space in her mind.

Alia closed her eyes and rubbed the bridge of her nose, as if suffering from a headache, dark waves of hair falling loose around her thin, tired face.

"Actually, quite so. IT goes with out saying, this has been an eventful day. Snatched from my bed to find my empire destroyed... Surely you felt the same way... I have only just lost my brother." Alia stopped now, and looked at Ghani a little harder, if Alia had known what her niece knew, she would have know this gesture of deep study was all to familiar to the older teen. "And you where but a babe in the seitch with your brother..."

Pausing along side her, Ghanima turned to face her. She tried to supress the intense feeling of despair that suddenly welled up inside her. Leto. Even though Ghani knew that a part of Leto was still alive, it hurt to think she might truly never get to see her beloved brother again.

"You miss him, you always have," Ghani said softly, her voice brimming with the compassion and understanding she felt. She took a deep breath, forcing herself to regain her calmness.

"I was snatched on the day of my wedding," Ghani informed Alia with a wry smile. She could have at that point also pointed out that Alia only was ruler of the empire until she married, since Leto was considered dead at the time she would have married. But now was not time for such pettiness.

Perhaps now could be a time of healing. Of better understanding her Aunt.

"I miss who my brother was... i miss Usul, not Muad'dib, no matter how holy his words where." It was a rare moment of outward insight.

"It's a strange notion that I'm sure your accustom to by now, but married? You where only this big yesterday." Alia made a cradle of her arms and regarded it sadly. "Who where you to marry?" She continued on now, weary and overwhelmed. She prayed for spice, water, and sleep, Alia would have hoped for more, but knew that returning to the desert now was not possible.

"Both aspects of him loved you dearly," Ghani informed her, though she didn't elaborate how she knew.

"It is a strange notion to me as well," Ghani smiled, watching Alia's movements. "I was to marry Farad'n Corrino to try to bring peace between our two families." She wasn't telling the whole truth, but it didn't truly matter now, as it would never happen.

She motioned for Alia to continue walking with her and the two women continued to move slowly through the ship toward the city.

"Farad'n?!" Alia was openly surprised, "Why would you marry into house Corrino? That just seems absurd! He's nothing but a pawn to his mother..." As she thought on it, Alia wondered who made such a ridiculous decision. Had Feyd still lived, she would have preferred a Harkonnen treaty, to a Corinno one.
And then it hit her.
There was most likely only one person who could have made such a decision.
Irulan.
The crafty whelp was alwaysplotting with the Bene Gesserit. Was it not the princess who had fed Chani contraceptives? Was it not Irulan that hated Alia most?

"You thought it was a good idea," Ghani informed her Aunt with an almost innocent expression. "And he was no longer a pawn of his Mother by the time of our arranged marriage. He... cleared a few things up and you exiled her." She didn't bother adding that she had still planned on killing him for the 'death' of Leto though.

The word moved her more deeply than a normal person could see. Revelation about he own action in the futures she could not see though she tried...

He said more, but she could not hear it over the rising din of the voices in her ears. They flashed into and out of her vision, hovering between her and Ghanima. Faces she knew but had never seen, each demanding to voice their opinion in shouts and shrieks.Alia lost all composure for a moment, and her eyes flashed the distress and she put her hand to the bridge of her nose again, rubbing it to soothe her pounding head.

Concerned, Ghanima reached out and gently touched Alia's arm. "How about we get you somewhere so you can sleep? We have plenty of time to talk." She offered Alia a small smile, but really she was beginning to wonder just how far gone Alia truly was.

Alia looked up, also startled by her neice's touch.
It felt odd to be standing eye to eye with the child. Barely more than a year or two between them. Yesterday she had been only a baby, today she was a companion.
What else did this girl know?
This child that lived the future.

"Yes." She breathed deeply trying to hold on to her own thoughts, as Ghanima's touch seemed to send the voices back to the depths.
"It feels much needed, thank you."

She smiled gently and steered Alia around so they were walking toward the City. "You're welcome. I was able to find a place... Without so much computer intervention. And without the whole feel of the ship. A real bed and sheets. You should be able to get some sleep there."
