Meet-n-Greet

After being released from stasis, having the slime removed from their bodies and clothed in the creepy, pulsing leaf-suit that everyone wore, and being taken to the Weapons & Possessions lockers to collect their belongings, the new arrivals would find themselves standing in the Observation Deck. Round windows lined the fleshy walls, revealing the bright display of lights that was inter-dimensional travel. They would also discover that there were people--members of the command staff and crew that had woken earlier--waiting for them.

The fog in his head still hadn't cleared. It was like being somewhere between buzzed and drunk, but without actually feeling good. Whether it was something they gave him before shipping him off to 42, or something the collar was doing (which was more likely), he didn't know. He just wanted it to stop.

He had managed to get a platsuit on, and he was thankful he was still mostly foggy through that. He also managed to get his jacket from W&P. Not that he could wear it, what with the cuffs and chains in the way.

When he managed to get to everyone else, he noticed a few things... no guards around, and no one else had on any cuffs or collars. That at least gave him some slight bit of hope.

He finally settled for leaning against a wall, wanting to rest for a bit. The chains were fucking heavy.

"So," he asked no one in particular, "anyone know where and when I can get these damn things removed?"

God help him if he was going to have to anything for that...

Sherry's red headband had been the only thing waiting for her in Weapons & Possessions. It was fine, as far as she was concerned. She was too young for guns (better left to people that could use them) and her school uniform had been dirty beyond belief. She didn't look up as she walked into the observation deck, and found herself a place to sit by the window, curled into the teeniest size she could get into.

This wasn't home, this was scary, and her clothing had a pulse. Behind her parents dying and her hometown being blown to smithereens, she listed it as The Worst Day Ever, and hicced into her hands, trying to be grown up, and doing her best to not cry.

God, was that an upset-looking small child? Lois was a bit freaked, at that. It was bad enough when she was freaking out over being here as an adult, but a child? A little girl? In this place?

As far as Lois was concerned, Stacy-Whatever had already reached the lowest of the lows, and kept trying to dig deeper. What sort of great purpose did a little girl have?

"Hey," she said, sliding over to sit nearby. She sucked at talking to kids, but hey, what else was she supposed to do?

"I know this is probably the worst question ever, but are you okay, sweetie?"

Sokka had, luckily, found several things of great usefulness in the pile of Stuff in Weapons & Possessions. The first, and most important was his space-sword, which was now strapped appropriately across his back. His belt and boomerang were there as well, along with his knife...so at least he was armed and ready to fight if he needed to.

He was pacing back and forth, occasionally glancing out of the Obs Deck windows uncertainly. Those were stars. But there was no way a ship could travel through the stars, right? That was just crazy. He was trying, unsuccessfully, not to think about the implications. He distracted himself by eying the other people already here. Who were they, and what did they want? At least Katara was here...he hovered protectively near his sister, using her presence to help distract himself from the rather disturbing questions that ran willy-nilly through his mind like a rampant mooselion.

Steve was slumped in a corner with his knees drawn up to his chest, trying to process everything. All things considered, there were worse things he could have found in his Weapons and Possessions locker. There were his submachine guns, just like he'd left them, so at least he was armed. There was the faded old photograph he kept in his pocket, folded up carefully and tucked into some pocket of this creepy suit for safekeeping.

There was also his collar from the prison, which he'd disgustedly left in the locker. Like he really wanted that.

There were people here of all different shapes and sizes, including a few Steve was pretty sure weren't actually people but aliens of some type. Sure. Aliens. Zombies were real now, so why not aliens too? He approached the whole situation with the same incredulous disconnect that he had the incident on Rockfort, and in fact the last several months of his life. That was the only way to avoid going crazy at this point. Aliens were real, and space ships, and zombies and mutant viruses that...

He absently touched his arm where he remembered there use to be a trackmark from an injection. It wasn't there anymore. But though his last memories were blurry and didn't exactly connect, he had a sinking feeling that the injection was just as real as aliens and space ships. What did that mean about the virus?

Steve didn't feel like thinking about all this anymore. He slumped down into the corner with a hand on his forehead, desperately wishing he'd wake up already.

It was, Luke decided, a little unhelpful to try and feel things out with the Force--there were so many emotions from the people around him clouding it that he could hardly tell where it was all coming from. Taking a deep breath, leaning against a locker, he calmed his mind and cast out in the Force, asking it to guide him and--

Bright blue eyes sprang open with a new sense of direction, and he wove his way through the beings gathering their things until he found the source of the despair--a man seated in the corner, his hand on his forehead, looking (and feeling) very, very lost.

"Hello," he said, squatting beside the other man, and quieted. He could have said Overwhelming, isn't it or What do you think this place is? but he was fairly sure without probing the other man's mind that those questions were already running through his head and he didn't need to hear them vocalized.

Walking without paying much attention, Luna runs one hand over the odd material covering her midriff (and the rest of her), her other hand occupied with slipping the posts of her radish earrings into her lobes. They had been the only things in her Locker, wand and Spectrespecs aside. The long strip of wood is tucked safely behind her ear, and her fingers continue to prod and pinch the pulsing plantsuit.

"How odd," she murmurs, footsteps halting completely as she finds one of the veins and presses a thin finger to it. The pulse is exactly like her own as she has felt it since Hermione taught her how to feel it, and she blinks slowly for a moment, wondering if the suit has a heartbeat or something along those lines.

Her eyes lift eventually, and her head cants to the side, protuberant eyes scanning the room carefully. She still looks nothing more than intrigued, though she registers that everyone else seems rather put-out.

Katara was more than a little put out, but that doesn't mean she won;t talk to people and act friendly. She figured somebody had to be here longer than today, and finding them would come soon. First off though, she wanted to know a little more about the similarities they all shared. After all, they were chosen. Why?

The first girl that caught her eye was one that look rather peculiar to her: strange kind of fruit was hanging off her ear, a piece of wood tucked behind her ear, and she was fooling around with the weird suit she had. The hair was what caught her eye though: it was yellow and to Katara, very pretty considering she didn't really see people with that kind of hair in her travels.

"Oh, hi," she said, looking a little sheepish. "So...I guess you just arrived too, huh? I'm Katara, of the Southern Water Tribe. Who are you?"

Gavroche had his hat, jacket, three pocket watches, his gun and three rolls. It might not have been all he had when he fell asleep, (he could have sworn he had Provaire's notebook last night) but it was all his.

Also, he wasn't going to be nice, well... not as nice. he was lost too! If they were smart, they'd have brought their own rolls, well, okay. He might share one, if they really needed it. But that was it. Just one.
Or two.

Pulling his cap on tightly over his head he pocketed his belongings and walked purposefully over to the others, they should know where the M'sieurs were. If they didn't? They would soon meet the smallest fury of the French revolutionary forces.

Yuri in her perpetual quest to be helpful to someone, anyone, spots a boy around her age, American or European by the looks of him. He wears a petulant expression, lips downturned in a frown, and seemingly trying to hide it all under an antique looking hat. She stops a bit away from him and waves.

Caden, looking quite morose, makes a very strong effort to keep to himself, eyes narrowed behind the black-framed glasses that he was quite glad to find in his locker, along with a ring Wyn had given him for his birthday the previous year before her... disappearance. The frown on his face looks to have been carved there, and he hopes inwardly that it's enough to keep people away long enough for him to get his bearings.

Honestly, the entire situation is so disorientating that his usual urge to shift and escape from the ease of human thought processes has abandoned him for the moment. Then again, that probably has more than a little to do with the fact that he got drenched the last time he tried to shift, and being hosed down when one is a cat is even more unpleasant than being hosed down when one is a human.

He sighs quietly, crossing his arms tightly on his chest, trying to ignore the pulsing of his new not-so-chic-or-trendy plantsuit. He mutters something about this being Wyn's fault, though he has no clue how she could have had anything to do with this. It makes him feel a bit bitter, though, and a bit of the tension in his shoulders disappears. He still looks agitated, though, and it's highly doubtful that this will change anytime soon.

Owen shrugged and figured he had no reason for now not to give up the details. It wasn't as if he was much for the secret identity thing anyway.

"Owen Mercer-Harkness-Thawne, a.k.a. Captain Boomerang. Gorgeous 20-something and freelance adventurer and aspiring superhero. Is Batman running this place?"

Finding out if Mister Too-tight-in-the-tights was in charge was still priority one.

Alright, he had a few of his boomerangs, his scarf, and his jacket with all the holsters. He was about as set as he was gonna be. This place didn't jive with the files the Outsiders or Checkmate had for anyone, but he supposed he'd just have to roll with it until he found someone familiar. IF he found someone familiar.

He had however spotted some kid with a boomerang of his own, hand-crafted by the look of it. No reason not to be friendly.

"Hey." He walked up behind the shorter male. "Nice boomerang."

Sokka turned halfway 'round to look at whoever had spoken to him. This someone apparently had an appreciation for the finer things in life, such as boomerangs. He grinned.

"Thanks..." He looked over the redhead, nodded. "I see you've got a couple yourself. Excellent choice of weapon, if I do say so myself."

To look at her, Roxie could be a pretty normal early-teen girl—thirteen or fourteen, maybe, but pretty slender either way. She's wearing a slightly-too-large denim jacket over the plantsuit—it has a weird multitude of extra pockets, many of which seem to be filled with things—and there's a little silver bell on a chain around her neck, like a decoration.

She shuffles in, adjusts her big-framed, and stares at the current occupants. She seems rather... shell-shocked, might be the right word.

Katara is still wandering about. Sokka is getting to know other people,s he figured it only made sense to do the same. Everyone looked so different in comparison to her, and there was so much to see. Still, even being taken so aback she knew it was rude to stare.

When she came upon the girl, then, she had to maintain a casualness she wasn't feeling. She looked close to her age, maybe a bit shorter. What she was wearing definitely looked odd to Katara, but also a bit more comfortable too: less traditional somehow. She wondered how something like that might look on her.

Who knew?

"Hi," Katara said. "I'm Katara. From the look on your face, I guess you're new here too. Nice to meet you."

Waspinator had flown into the room fully in beast mode, just checking out the various 'fleshy-bots', and seeing if (Primus forbid) there was any he recongnize. He also didn't see any problem with showing up in wasp form.

Sentinel's long range sensors had picked up a new technological signal. It was definitely Cybertronian, but it was distorted. He couldn't make out for certain what it was from long range, so he decided he was going to have to brave the crowd of organics to potentially rescue a fellow technological life-form.

As he drew nearer to the signal however, he only found some many-legged giant organic freakshow. He approached cautiously, lance at the ready. "You there! Cybertronian! Identify yourself... and explain what you're doing in that disgusting alt-mode!"

Patsy Walker looks around, her bright blue eyes taking everything in. She's already been to the weapons and possessions locker, and she's carrying a stylish, oversized tote bag filled with odds and ends, including - but not limited to - her blue cowl, her clawed gloves, and her cable claws. There were some other important bits and pieces in there, thank the gods. Her blue sash is wrapped loosely around her waist.

There's a bright smile across her face - she's been chosen for a great purpose, eeee! - and a look of awe in her sparkling eyes. The first thing she says when she enters the Observation Deck is, "Cheese and crackers!" The place is huge. And filled with people of all shapes, sizes, colours, and races.

It's...amazing.

"Yeah... something like that." Owen quips to the pretty lady, wandering around and taking in the sights as well. A handful of faces so far were ominously familiar as fictional, so it bugged him less to gravitate towards those he didn't recognize.

Spoor is not pleased. The normally rather unflappable Abh is looking out of sorts, a cross expression on her face. She's not in the mood for polite conversation and instead, would much rather find someone and get more information (because this stupid computer program isn't giving her any). Deca-Commander Abriel Nei Dobrusc Parynh Lafiel stops dead in her tracks. Some impulse had led her to the site of the podpop, perhaps a wish to see someone she knows. Here she experiences the truth of the old adage 'be careful what you wish for, it just might come true'.

Snapping immediately into a mode she's practiced since age 13, she stops in front of the haughty admiral and gives her the Abh salute, middle and index finger touching the forehead. "Admiral!"

Katara had talked with a few people, but was no nearer at finding out the question she was afraid to ask: was Aang here? She didn't want to hear a no: she needed to find him, and while she was happy Sokka was here, he wasn't Aang. She was sure Sokka would feel the same way if he knew Suki was around. For now, as far as she knew, they were the only two of their world on this ship. That wasn't what she wanted to hear.

She sighed, standing by a locker, fiddling with Gran-gran's necklace. No water here either...that was going to be trouble. She'd have to scour the ship more to find it, and from the sound of things, that was going to be a task in and of itself.

Mai had heard something about a podpop and she'd figured that she might as well go stare at all of the new-comers. At least it would be something to do while she waited for Zuko to stop crawling around inside of Stacy's innards. Of course, she hadn't really expected to find anyone she knew, so Katara's presence was a bit of a surprise.

Luke stood by the entrance to the Weapons and Possessions room, watching the activity within. By now, the rippling confusion in the Force had calmed as people either settled into shock or collected themselves. He knew that he should head out of here, follow others up to where he'd been told the living area was and rest--he had a feeling he was going to need it--but he remained here. Sleep would come in time.

At least, he thought, he had his lightsaber. Somehow it lent an air of normalcy to things.

There wasn't anything for Nana in the lockers, but she did not have things anyway, except for the limbs Papa had given her and they had been there when she woke up, so that was okay. At least she was wearing something now --the vines she'd encountered on the way having somehow outmaneuvered her vectors-- though the clothes weren't like anything she'd worn before and felt weird. The young girl scratched at the plantsuit, then between her horns as her pink eyes took everything in, not sure if she should try talking to someone. This place was so big and strange and she really wished she was with her friends right then.

She was trying to be brave, because Papa would have wanted her to be, but she was lost and looked it.

Carol was used to things getting weird in her life, but so far this had been the strangest. Or at least up in the top ten. She was on a ship of some kind, and wasn't dead.. which was a big bonus because she was fairly sure she should be dead. She shook her head and sighed as she adjusted the suit she was wearing. She would have preferred her own outfit, but she reasoned with herself, that maybe this was better.

She still couldn't figure out why, but it had to be.

A girl with black and pink hair flits up to Carol. She has pure black eyes, a friendly grin, and brightly coloured insect wings on her back that help her fly, even though something like that should be humanly impossible. Instead of being the size of a fairy, she was the size of a petite, teenage girl.

Which is what she was, mostly.

"Hi!" she says brightly, coming to a stop in front of Carol. "You just popped, right?"

"Okay, this is so much cooler than the slime filled pods." Billy grinned widely as he moved towards the windows and stared out over everything. He'd never been in space before, heck he'd only ever left his own country once or twice. Not counting his trip to find his mom.

He turned away from the windows after a moment and looked out over the people in the room, some looked really familiar and he had to stop himself from freaking out about some. He took a deep breath and wondered if any of his friends had been kidnapped too. He knew people from his world had been, but would this ship had taken his friends too? There had to be at least a slim chance, right?

Standing nearby, Luna overhears his initial comment, and though her gaze doesn't shift from the ceiling (she has been staring at it for the last five minutes), she initiates a conversation in that way that she has of being either totally strange or horrifically blunt.

She chooses to do a little mix of the two.

"Some people are very fond of slime-filled pods, you know," she says, and it's a wonder that she manages to be heard through the crowd; her voice is so soft that it ought to have been swallowed up by the waves of sound around her.

Bix is still wandering around, unused to being enclosed in such a techonlogical space. And yet, there is something distinctly living about this place too. Not unlike the strutters when they are powered up with sunstones, she thinks.

She also doesn't think she'll ever get this slimy substance out of her scales.

She would be surprised when she spotted one or both of the resident raptors.

One of said resident raptors has noticed Bix. They're larger than proper velociraptors would be, each around six feet tall, but it's the name they call themselves.

Sharp Tongue approaches with long, easy strides. The raptor carries herself in a self-important, dignified fashion. There's something civilized but primitive about her looks, her body is crossed by several long three claw slashes painted in red and white, and she carries a tooth-claw-and-feather decorated bag made of triceratops hide that hangs along her left side.

"Protoceratops," she says, eyeing the smaller dinosaur with curiosity. She'd been hoping there would be more raptors aboard, even if they were not from her tribe. She'll settle for another dino though, at least it's not a human.

Jono wasn't generally one of the big 'go to' people when it came to finding stuff out. But he made his appearance, finding a place near the windows and doing a quick check over people as he noted them. Somehow he doubted that there were any Yeerks hiding in the people released from the pods, but one never knew.

Julian must've been having a shitty day. Not only was he happy to see Chamber, he was hugging the former X-man/Gen X'er.

"Dear God I am actually glad to see your face!" Uh... "The half of it." Uh... "You know what I mean."

At least now he knew he could have at one person to watch his back while the collar he was forced to wear kept him powerless.

There's a man here, staying to the fringes of the mingling of old and new crew. He's very big, just a little shy of seven feet tall, and has several scars etched across his face.

The Master Chief watches the new crew members with interest, also keeping an eye out for the ones he knows already. With his new position in charge of onship training he wants to learn whatever he can about the new arrivals and even first impressions could be useful. He's also looking for any potential trouble, which is always a possibility with a new group waking up.

Still, the Spartan doesn't speak up or approach anyone. He remains at the edge, serious and alert.

Carol had gotten her barrings and had wondered around for a bit. Things were still kind of fuzzy to her, but at least she could remember her own damn name. She was Ms. Marvel, and she was stuck on a living psychic ship. God knew where in space they were, but she figured it didn't really matter. It didn't look like she was going to be able to fly out of here. She didn't want to risk that anyways. She hadn't been able to test her powers yet, to see if they were still on the fritz or if exploding into rainbows had helped.

As she wondered around she spotted a few people she might want to talk to. But first things first. She had to find out more about why they were here. Someone had to have some mission specs or something, right? They weren't just here, because.. that wouldn't make any sense. Well it would, but she doubted that it'd be that easy. So when she finally spotted the rather large, built man standing watch over them all. She figured he'd be the one to ask. He had to be military, or at least a warrior.

She used her red sash to tie her hair back, and then approached him with a soft business smile.

"Sir?" Even though it was formed as a question, she wasn't as nervous as she probably should have been. The man was at least two feet taller than her, and any other woman probably would have stayed away. But she wasn't a normal woman. She was Ms. Marvel, and she would never forget that.

Xander wandered in, he'd been down in the city. Trying to shore up some structures around the Vatican when he got word about the latest arrivals. Time for official business.

The one eyed carpenter gave a wave.

"How's it going everybody? Got any questions............"

He then trailed off.

".........Is that LUKE SKYWALKER?!"

He then facepalmed. Way to go Harris, that totally wasn't awkward and insane fanboyish. Noooo... not at all.

"Yeah...isn't it AWESOME?" Owen grins as he catches what this other guy just blurted out. "And he's really nice! It's like meeting a celebrity that you know could just have security jump you, or in his case, slice you in half, but they turn out to be really frickin' groovy about it."

He walks around to talk to the other person head-on. "I mean, I was a little weirded out at first because he's a fiction--al character." His voice skips a beat for a moment as he recognizes another face. He tries to get back to a smooth chatting tone. "But man... you just forget all about that." He grins, perhaps a little nervously now.

Angela tucked her small notebook under her arm as she entered yet another room. She was glad to have it back, and was still thinking absently about the sheer amount of -stuff- written in it. In her other hand was her huthvir, a staff with sword blades on each end. It was in a cylindrical wooden case with a handle, about a foot wide. She set it down vertically by a window and spent a moment looking out. Not that it looked like much. Bright streaming lights. The herbalist turned her attention inwards, focusing instead on the varied crowd, eyes shifting slowly from one to the other, a slight smile on her face.
