Meet-n-Greet

After being released from stasis, having the slime removed from their bodies and clothed in the creepy, pulsing leaf-suit that everyone wore, and being taken to the Weapons & Possessions lockers to collect their belongings, the new arrivals would find themselves standing in the Observation Deck. Round windows lined the fleshy walls, revealing the bright display of lights that was inter-dimensional travel. They would also discover that there were people--members of the command staff and crew that had woken earlier--waiting for them.

Owen gapes, even as he returns the handshake.

"I'm... I'm dreaming. Or I'm in Star Trek. I'm either dreaming or I'm in Star Trek." He looks around hurriedly. "Where are the Orions? Where are the Orions?!"

"M'boy," Wednesday says knowingly, "if there were any Orions, I'd have claimed them already myself. And I think you'll find it's more than just a television show." The emphasis is, oddly enough, on the 'a'.

Owen strokes his soul-patch, smirking. "If any show up, old man, you can try."

Owen catches that emphasis. "...I'm not in Metropolis anymore, am I?"

"This is a starship," Wednesday says levelly. "We've all been abducted for some unknown purpose... though it seems like the abductors—also unknown—want to use us to combat a genocidal race called the Ohm."

"Oh.... okay. As long as it's been at least partially spelled out."

Yeah, once you come to terms with your mom being from the 30th century, and still there actually, you kind of learn to just roll with these things.

"There's also the issue that potentially hostile forces are actually the ones controlling this ship." He points a thumb at the ceiling. "'Stacy' has been sort of... working around them to help us, but for the time being we're sealed into certain parts of the ship."

"...and that's bad, right?" Owen has at least done enough adventuring by now that he makes sure to get clarification on as many points as possible.

"Yes," Wednesday says firmly. "For one thing, if we had control of the ship, we'd be able to drop off the people who don't actually want to be here back at home..."

Owen grimaces, looking around at the size of the assemblage. "Guessing there's quite a few of them then..." He shrugs. "As for me... I got nowhere else to be really."

Wednesday smiles a little. "There's a few of those, I think. Where I used to live, I'd... overextended my welcome before I was brought here. You know." His tone is comfortable, but it might bring questioning thoughts about that glass right eye to light...

Owen lets out a sigh and rolls his eyes. "Oh man, tell me about it. I thought I had a good thing running with a team, then one of my buddies' dad shows up and starts saying 'This is how it's gonna be' blah blah blah 'I am the night' blah blah 'Finely tuned operation' and all 'at crap."

He lets out a huff. "I was so out of there..."
