Meet-n-Greet

After being released from stasis, having the slime removed from their bodies and clothed in the creepy, pulsing leaf-suit that everyone wore, and being taken to the Weapons & Possessions lockers to collect their belongings, the new arrivals would find themselves standing in the Observation Deck. Round windows lined the fleshy walls, revealing the bright display of lights that was inter-dimensional travel. They would also discover that there were people--members of the command staff and crew that had woken earlier--waiting for them.

(OOC: Oh man this tag took forever, so sorry! D:)

"Mostly common sense," says the Chief. "Pack if you have it, but threaten anyone and we'll come down on you like a cruiser." It's not an ideal arrangement, but it works. The crew keeps itself policed

"What do you have?" he asks, eyeing the bag. The Chief's been trying to keep track of what ordnance is on hand, but his efforts aren't official. He makes a note to himself to talk to Leon about that.

Gauron unzips the bag, offering it for inspection - given what he's carrying, cooperating readily is probably the only way he's going to convince the Chief he might not be a threat after all. "If we're only counting the things that can do lethal damage, I have a handgun, a submachine gun, half a dozen grenades, a fascine knife, and a bowie knife."

The Chief gives a low whistle appreciatively. The stuff isn't from his era, but he knows it well enough.

"You military?" he asks, having his suspicions.

"Private military, actually." The Chief seems like the kind who might look down on mercenaries, but at this point, it's not something that can be helped. In a situation like this, it's best to be forthcoming, especially when the Chief would probably catch him in a lie about something like that before he'd even finished speaking it.

A short nod. "Understood." The Chief won't have to dig it out of him, which is good. He's wary of anyone from such a background, but the honesty shows that this man's aware of the situation.

"Other than that, just keep your eyes open. Alert security if you find anything that seems like a threat. Don't take it into your own hands."

"I understand. Other than that..." He glances away, surveying the room briefly. "Is there anything I can do to make myself useful around here?"
prettycoolguy: (helmless: Yes I do have a face.)

The Chief exhales, considering. "Hard to say. There's a lot that needs doing but the first thing I'll say is figure out who your team is. The ship'll tell you. As soon as she does that, find them, get to know them, figure out how you can work with them. It'll make all our lives easier if we can depend on away teams to function.
