Meet-n-Greet
After being released from stasis, having the slime removed from their bodies and clothed in the creepy, pulsing leaf-suit that everyone wore, and being taken to the Weapons & Possessions lockers to collect their belongings, the new arrivals would find themselves standing in the Observation Deck. Round windows lined the fleshy walls, revealing the bright display of lights that was inter-dimensional travel. They would also discover that there were people--members of the command staff and crew that had woken earlier--waiting for them.

"Hey..." she tilted her head slightly, "...you're the Avatar's friend."
no subject
"Mai! Zuko's girlfriend! So there ARE other people from our universe here! I'm so happy to see you! Are there others from our world, like maybe...the Avatar? Is Aang here?"
At this point, she might even settle for Jet, not that it was really possible.
no subject
A pause as she considered her question, "...Zuko says he is. He's been looking for him since bfore I got here."
no subject
"Mai! Whoa! What are you doing here?" Okay, so maybe his theory about this place just wanting Water Tribe people was wrong. Which is kind of a relief, to tell the truth.
no subject
"Mai,it's me, Katara. Its not like this is the first time we've met before. We've fought you, and we became friends after the war too, remember?"
Did Stacey make them forget things too? This was getting worse and worse.
This time she definitely heard Sokka, but her last question was one she definitely wanted an answer to. "What did he find out?"
no subject
Had it really been that long? And when she speaks next, there's a bit of bitterness in her voice.
"The war isn't over yet. Zuko just ran off to find you - that's the last thing I remember before getting pulled here. Well, that and he was in prison."
no subject
"Seriously? But that was a while ago. The war's over, Zuko's the Fire Lord..." He scratches his head, trying to figure this out.
no subject
She took a breath, and calmed herself. No point in getting upset about this now. She'd have to just make do. She turned to Mai, looking level headed. "That's enough Sokka. We can't go and tell her what's happened in the future, it might affect her past if she knows about that, probably. Anyway, where could we find Zuko?"

He glanced back at Mai.
"He's...like...crawling around in giant living ship guts? Ew."
no subject
Not that she would completely discount mind wipe, but it was a really REALLY creepy thought.
Katara giggled. "Well, that sounds like our Zuko."
no subject
Which is to say she's not at all pleased with him for crawling around in there. Even if she's not going to out and out stop him.
"And I don't remember the war ending. Pretty sure I'd remember that."
She huffs impatiently and folds her arms.
no subject
"If we really are from different times, why would this thing take us like that? I mean, what if it decided to take Katara before she mastered waterbending? She wouldn't be all that useful for whatever this purpose is."
He pauses and glances nervously at Katara.
"If Katara got taken for her bending skills, I mean. Heh."
no subject
After all, what good was going to come out of them fighting if Mai didn't trust them? There had to be some kind of agreement somewhere between the three of them that they would fight for the same cause. It was lucky enough they were all pulled from the same world.
no subject
It surprises him that Mai is talking to them civilly. He knows she fought with them on more than one occasion. Maybe she needs backup . . .? But no, no violence appears to be happening. Angry words, it seems, are not even being exchanged. How weird.
This throws a bit of a wrench in his plans to prostrate himself before the Avatar and Crew when he met them again and put himself at the mercy of their honor. That would just be overdramatic right now, so the Prince of the Fire Nation stands around looking like a doof for a moment as he wonders what to say to get their attention (and figure out how to apologize in THIS setting.)
"Uh . . . maybe, 'Hello -' Yeah, 'Hello' is good -"
no subject
Which is true. She came along because Azula wanted her to come. She does spot Zuko and she slides over to him. Not incredibly big on PDAs yet, she settles for just slipping in next to him, "I told you he'd show up."
no subject
"Hey, Zuko! Now all we need is Toph and Aang and we'll have a complete set." The last is said rather sarcastically, but in a good natured way, more teasing than angry. Steps over to give Zuko a slap on the shoulder, pausing before he does so to make sure Zuko isn't covered in gunk.
"How long have you been here? And is Aang really here? Mai said you were looking for him."
no subject
"Uh . . . . yeah, I guess."
Nobody seems to hate his guts. This is . . . strange. But there are more important things to deal with.
"Aang's already here. The ship is holding him hostage. I've been trying to find him."
