Meet-n-Greet

After being released from stasis, having the slime removed from their bodies and clothed in the creepy, pulsing leaf-suit that everyone wore, and being taken to the Weapons & Possessions lockers to collect their belongings, the new arrivals would find themselves standing in the Observation Deck. Round windows lined the fleshy walls, revealing the bright display of lights that was inter-dimensional travel. They would also discover that there were people--members of the command staff and crew that had woken earlier--waiting for them.

"Yeah, we all came from in there. That's not where we came from originally, but we were in those pod things just like you were." Wyn's not good with kids, especially, and she's worried that she might be talking down to the pink-haired girl.

"Are we here for tests?" Nana asks, pink brows pinched in worry. She's not sure about that great purpose thing.

"No, no tests. Just a Great Purpose, which Stacy probably told you about. We're not quite sure what that is yet, though." Wyn's trying to be reassuring, really she is, but she also doesn't feel like lying to a little kid.

Nana nods again. "That person-- um..." So not sure how to process this whole spaceship idea. "She told me that. Have you and the other people been here along time?"

Wyn sighs quietly. "We're not sure, really. We don't have any clocks or calendars, and people in here are from all different points in time and space. There are definitely people who have been here longer than me." She's pretty sure this isn't reassuring in the slightest.

She frowns, mulling that over. Now the really important question: "Is she ever going to let us go home?"

"Yes." Wyn says promptly, nodding. This might not be entirely the truth, but they're going to get out of there whether or not Stacy allows them to. "It might take some time, but we're going to go home."

"I'm Wyn, by the way. What's your name?"

Truth or not, it was what Nana needed to hear. She cracked a small smile. "I'm Nana. Thank you for trying to help."

"Not a problem. This is kind of my job, anyway, helping new people out." Wyn says, smiling back over at the pink-haired girl.
