Meet-n-Greet

After being released from stasis, having the slime removed from their bodies and clothed in the creepy, pulsing leaf-suit that everyone wore, and being taken to the Weapons & Possessions lockers to collect their belongings, the new arrivals would find themselves standing in the Observation Deck. Round windows lined the fleshy walls, revealing the bright display of lights that was inter-dimensional travel. They would also discover that there were people--members of the command staff and crew that had woken earlier--waiting for them.

Another podpop, and Kate was emerging from the Media Library. Best to swing by to see who might be awake. Especially if it's anybody familiar or one of her friends.

She stepped into the Observation Deck, and a grin immediately lit up her space.

"Finally woke up, huh?" She then ran over to him. "Welcome aboard, Billy."

He spun to the voice and grinned brightly. His thoughts must have been crystal clear, because there was one of his friends. Standing right before him, and real as any other part of this ship.

"You know I was starting to worry that I had been kidnapped all alone. Are we the only ones? Or did Ms. Stacy kidnap the others too?" He bit his lip a bit and looked around some more, hope rising inside of him, and a part of him scared out of his mind. "Where's Teddy? He hanging around with some other cute little witch boy, while I was stuffed in a slime pod?"

Kate came closer for a hug, but her good mood was tempered a little when he mentioned Teddy.

"If you haven't seen him in the pod chambers, he's not awake yet probably. There's just a couple of us so far walking around. Cassie, Jonas," Saying the name this Vision adopted, before adding, "And one other. But it's complicated since he doesn't remember anything about being Iron Lad or us."

Still seeing some of her friends gives her reason to believe the whole team was grabbed and were 'Chosen'.

No Teddy. He shook his head a bit and frowned. Still hugging Kate when she stepped closer. At least there were some of them. He didn't know if he could have dealt with just himself walking around. He pulled back a bit and blinked. Iron Lad..

"Not so complicated. I erased his memories of us when he left, remember?" He frowned a bit. That must have been hard on Cassie. Seeing the boy she had known for only a short time, and had seemingly fallen in love with, and have him not remember her. He could only imagine.

"But Nate aside. I'm glad that at least some of us are here. Though I'm still fussy on what's going on. Living psychic ship aside."

Kate stepped back, and tucked a strand of her black hair back behind her ear.

"I know, well it worked. Only now he seems more like Kang Jr. then we thought."

She did reach out to rest a hand on his shoulder, "At least this means with you here too, the rest will be here soon. Just a little late, that's all."

Kate also remarked, "I'll give you the Wiki version. It's definitely living. Organic ship, but there's a lot of AI around here too. Apparently we all got drafted to help out. There's a command staff now, and some teams in case we get sent on any new missions. Already been on one."

"He was suppose to become Kang, so we wouldn't unwrite history. It was the only thing that made me do that. I don't like that I erased his memories, and I don't like that one of my best friends grew up to be one of the worst enemies of my favorite super heroes." He shook his head and sighed. Having Nate on board was truly great, but he'd have to see about undoing the spell on him. If Nate agreed.

"So we're basically Stacy's very own military force. Or something similar. And I'm guessing we can't refuse to do what she asks." He was getting a bad taste in his mouth.

"Sort of? But it's more complicated than that. More recently we found out a little more. She needs our help, but can't tell us why."

Kate added, "We've been under attack a few times too, and there's a city on one of the levels. It's ok in some parts, but not safe in other. Least not alone, but good place to patrol."

"Brilliant. Wouldn't want to make this too easy." He knew that he sounded way more excited about this than he should. But he couldn't help it, not really. Maybe he'd ingested some of the slime and it was messing with his mind. Or he had finally gone nuts.

"So I assume everyone here can at least fight, if they don't have some sort of power."

"Yeah, or they have some other skills beside fighting. Like medical or engineering."

She then grinned, "Just wait till you hear about our command staff. Captain Picard's head of it. And Captain Kirk's the Commander." Yes, Billy, it's a geekboy dream come true.

"Think just about everybody here has some movie or tv show or something in another world that's based on their lives. Just don't draw too much attention to it."

Billy's brain must have been seriously messing up, because he could have sworn that Kate had just said that the head of their command staff was Captain Picard. He blinked a few times and leaned against the windows.

"Are you serious? Captain Picard AND Kirk? Here? Oh man.. Next you're going to tell me the Doctor's hanging around on board with Batman." He was joking but his eyes showed that he might have been a bit hopeful.

She grinned more at his reaction, and added seriously, "Very. And yeah actually the Doctor is here. Also somebody called the Master. And there's a guy named Terry who's also Batman if that's what you mean?"

Kate also remarked, "We don't have to worry as much about our codenames here since a lot are from other worlds."

Billy could feel his brain melting in his head. Picard, Kirk, the Doctor and Master, and some guy who's Batman. Not to mention Luke Skywalker standing a few feet away. He was in fanboy heaven.

"Billy? You need a moment? The chairs are weird, but you sort of get used to it."

Kate considered it, "Well ok, no you don't. But we can also head to the Media Library, or got our own version of a holodeck. The Sensoriums. Might want to eat there since you can't tell the food's the same glop and stale edible trays from the cafe."

"A moment? I need a lifetime." He shook his head and ran a hand through his hair. "I can almost hear Tommy laughing at me for all this. I'm going to die from too much fanboying." He shook his head again and then got serious.

"So you've been eating junk that this place makes? Wow, talk about Sci-Fi. I'm guessing no one can make stuff out of thin air then?" No he wasn't hinting that he could make real food. He wasn't a vending machine.

"No you're not. And I won't tell Tommy whenever he does show up," she reassured him.

Kate nodded, and made a face, "It's not like we have other options. It's either pretend it's something tasty in the Sensoriums, or get used to flavorless cream of wheat glop."

She then tilted her head, and even if he wasn't exactly she couldn't help being a little hopeful and desperate, "No... nobody yet. But god please if you figure out how I will buy you a whole collection of comic books, or hell a store whenever we get back home."

"I don't know if I could do it or not Kate. But I'll try it at some point. See if I can work it out, and you don't have to buy me anything. We're all stuck here, so we might as well do what we can to help out, right?"

Kate smiled, and added, "I'd keep quiet on it or you will be so mobbed by everybody. But it'll be awesome if you figure it out. I mean bad enough we've been here for several months at least."

"Oh yeah, mouth shut. I don't want to be the ships vending machine if I could help it." He shook his head, a bit amused by the thought. Maybe he could just create a vending machine. Would the ship allow it?

"Months? But I just seen you guys this morning..." He blinked a bit and held a hand to his head. "Okay, ouch. I hate time travel. Really I do."

"Yeah, I think everybody got pulled out at different times. Uh, ok what's the last thing going for you?" Speaking of time, need to check if their dates match up or not.

"Well we were confronting those kids who were calling themselves the Young Avengers." He rubbed at his neck and frowned. "I don't know if that helps or not."

Kate blinked and did a double take at that, "....Wait what? We have imposters or wannabes calling themselves Young Avengers? What about the Skrulls?"

"We defeated the Skrulls forever ago... Osborn's took over, and these kids are trying to follow his standards or something."

"........We hadn't when I was there," Kate quietly said, and then sat down hard in one of the fleshy chairs. Trying to make sense of it. Ok great, the Skrulls were defeated. That's good. But what's this about Osborn?

"Norman Osborn? How could he have taken over? What about Stark and SHIELD?"

"Well it seems that Osborn got in the shot heard around the world. He shot that woman, the Queen or whatever she was calling herself. Live on national TV, and got the president to GIVE him SHIELD. He made Tony the World's Most Wanted criminal, started hunting the Avengers, and turned SHIELD into HAMMER. Don't ask what it means, because no one has any clue." He shook his head a bit and plopped down next to Kate.

"Then there's Osborn's Avengers. Bullseye's the new Hawkeye, and yeah Barton was thrilled about that. Venom's the new Spider-Man.. and remember that guy from that prison when we were in California? The one who kidnapped Teddy, Karolina, and I and then killed Xavin? He's the new Captain Marvel." He shook his head and leaned back trying to think about anything he was missing.

"Oh yeah, and Osborn's got one of Tony's armors all done up in red, white, and blue and calling himself like the Iron Patriot or something."

Kate took all that in, and put her head in her hands.

".....I think I'm going to be sick." She definitely remembered the one who kidnapped her friends, and tried to kill her if he hadn't been stopped. And Osborn is some perverted mixture of Iron Man and Cap?

And there's a THIRD Hawkeye? That on top of everything else.

Suddenly she wasn't sure if she should go home, or now she HAD to go home to stop it.

"This can't be how it's supposed to go. It's perverted and wrong."
