Meet-n-Greet
After being released from stasis, having the slime removed from their bodies and clothed in the creepy, pulsing leaf-suit that everyone wore, and being taken to the Weapons & Possessions lockers to collect their belongings, the new arrivals would find themselves standing in the Observation Deck. Round windows lined the fleshy walls, revealing the bright display of lights that was inter-dimensional travel. They would also discover that there were people--members of the command staff and crew that had woken earlier--waiting for them.

He was pacing back and forth, occasionally glancing out of the Obs Deck windows uncertainly. Those were stars. But there was no way a ship could travel through the stars, right? That was just crazy. He was trying, unsuccessfully, not to think about the implications. He distracted himself by eying the other people already here. Who were they, and what did they want? At least Katara was here...he hovered protectively near his sister, using her presence to help distract himself from the rather disturbing questions that ran willy-nilly through his mind like a rampant mooselion.

"Talking animal!"

"Don't be rude Sokka!" Katara said, turning her attention to the curious little animal. "Hey little guy. Do you know where we are?"
no subject
"Katara, it talks. Don't you find that just a little weird? Maybe?"

Her heart sunk hearing trapped. "Oh. Well. That's not good. What;s your name?"

"Sokka!" She was glad to see him! For the first few minutes everything was so unfamiliar she thought she was close to losing it. But if Sokka were here, surely some of the others had to be too, right? She hugged him, then let him go. "I'm so glad you're here too! This place, its so incredible! I'm not a science guy like you, but I think its safe to say we're not in any of our nations."
She looked around at the others. "Let's ask them if they know anything about where we are! I think they were hatched too."

He released her after a moment, nodding.
"Yeah, I don't think we're anywhere near the four nations, Katara. This is seriously, seriously weird. I mean...I've never seen anything like this, ever!"
no subject
Katara took a breath. "Did you see anyone we know?"

He pulled his sword part way from it's scabbard, examining the blade and comparing it to the walls for a moment.
"Uh, sorry to say, whatever this place is, it's almost like it's alive. Nothing like the rock I made my space sword out of..." He paused a moment, then shook his head.
"I haven't..."

Sokka was always the first to discount something that sounded vaguely magical, but it was the truth.
"I'm with you. It definitely feels alive. We don't even need Toph to verify that. What I want to know is, why us? Why here? And if we're here, where is Aang?"

"You have a boomerang," she states, staring intently at it for a long moment before looking up at the person equipped with said instrument, her gaze expectant.

"Uh...yep!"

"It's a tool and a weapon. How is it pretty?"
no subject
"There are people in the world who believe a refined and visible level of functionality and precision to be the epitome of beauty. I just think it's a nice color, though."
