Meet-n-Greet

After being released from stasis, having the slime removed from their bodies and clothed in the creepy, pulsing leaf-suit that everyone wore, and being taken to the Weapons & Possessions lockers to collect their belongings, the new arrivals would find themselves standing in the Observation Deck. Round windows lined the fleshy walls, revealing the bright display of lights that was inter-dimensional travel. They would also discover that there were people--members of the command staff and crew that had woken earlier--waiting for them.

"Alright," Vega nods enthusiastically. "He doesn't like people too much but he shouldn't hurt you if I tell him not to." As far as he's concerned, that is perfectly reassuring.

"Not really, I don't know too many people all that well yet. I haven't been here very long," he answers, shrugging.

Yeah, not really all that reassuring, Vega. Caden cringes a bit, not really liking the 'he shouldn't hurt you if you tell him not to' bit. That's what his parents had said, but he still got the happiness beaten out of him on a regular basis in middle school. "Sure," he mutters, looking quite a bit less enthused now.

A sigh escapes, and he runs a hand through his hair, frowning. "Well, damn."

Vega notices the loss of enthusiasm, but he can't really put his finger on why that would be. It makes perfect sense to him. Who knows, maybe this guy wanted to be bit by the Fury?

Vega doubts that. He'll write it off in his mind as something going on with Caden that he doesn't know about that has upset him, that would make more sense.

"I'm sorry," he offers, sincerely. "I know you can probably ask some of the older crew?"

No, dear, Caden isn't a masochist. Not that he isn't perfectly willing to try...

"Eh," he grunts, making a rather exasperated face that all the while reads 'so it goes in the life of a luckless barista'. "I guess that'd work. I really don't feel like badgering people right now. If they break out in the next twenty-four hours, it'll probably be a miracle, anyway, so I think it can wait." His lack of enthusiasm really is impressive sometimes.

"Well, okay then." Vega nods. "I hope you find him, okay?" Vega offers him an encouraging smile.

"I gotta to see if I know anybody here for now, maybe I'll see you later."
