Meet-n-Greet

After being released from stasis, having the slime removed from their bodies and clothed in the creepy, pulsing leaf-suit that everyone wore, and being taken to the Weapons & Possessions lockers to collect their belongings, the new arrivals would find themselves standing in the Observation Deck. Round windows lined the fleshy walls, revealing the bright display of lights that was inter-dimensional travel. They would also discover that there were people--members of the command staff and crew that had woken earlier--waiting for them.

"Since the first group was released, it's been, oh, a good few months—but there's no knowing if there might have been another group before." He glances upwards. "Especially since these systems have already altered our memories before about crew members returned to stasis." Wednesday frowns deeply.

"And the Ohm, well, that's a little up in the air right now. We have very little information as of yet."

Telepathic ships were one thing, but forged or changed memories were another issue altogether. Ender followed the man's one-eyed gaze to the ceiling, which breathed ominously.
With a frown he asks the obvious question: "How do we know about these memory alterations?"
Perhaps the ship prepared it's members individually for the task ahead, as training them all at once would be inconvenient.

"We know people have appeared again who we didn't remember—because they suddenly came to mind again when they hadn't before. Aside from that... well, how are you to know what you don't remember any more?"

The old man observes Ender's expression for a long moment.

Ender considers the memory dilemma with a tiny uplift to his lip, a pathetic attempt at a smirk. His face seems out of the habit of such expressions.
"Does the ship designate sleeping places, sir?" More to the point, does it decide where we sleep so it can alter memories at it's leisure? Though he wouldn't have minded a nap to process all of this either...preferably not while his brain was being tampered with.

"It does, but there other locations that can be used—a little more makeshift, but they work. I have a little bolthole on the city level myself..." He shrugs. "It's up to your choice, really.

He nods his understanding. "Thank you, sir." And he means it. "May I come to you when other questions arise?"

"Oh, of course," Wednesday says with a small smile (and that's genuine, too). "You're much better company than many of the others around here, m'boy..."

"I haven't met anyone else, but I'm sure it'll prove mutual." Ender replies, "thank you again sir." With that, he heads out of the Obs Deck.
