Meet-n-Greet

After being released from stasis, having the slime removed from their bodies and clothed in the creepy, pulsing leaf-suit that everyone wore, and being taken to the Weapons & Possessions lockers to collect their belongings, the new arrivals would find themselves standing in the Observation Deck. Round windows lined the fleshy walls, revealing the bright display of lights that was inter-dimensional travel. They would also discover that there were people--members of the command staff and crew that had woken earlier--waiting for them.

Wednesday nods a little. "I knew a man once who could turn into a hawk. Never quite kept a hold of himself..." He scratches his head. "The last time we met, he was spending his time eating roadkill and I think he might have forgotten how to talk."

Well, that's an interesting little story.

Caden nods, looking more than a bit concerned for this man's sanity.

"Well... uhm... I'll... keep that in mind?"

Wednesday looks entirely unbothered by Calen's expression. "Oh, and you might want to talk to the short fellow with the blue clothes," he says. "If you've got any inclination to help with the team trying to get out of here, anyway. I think they'd find a shapeshifter useful—there are any number of little ducts and other hoo-ha in the way of getting to this ship's controls.

This has his attention. "There's a team trying to get out of here? Really?" He sounds far too eager, and only holds himself back for a few seconds before starting to scan the crowd rather exuberantly for 'the short fellow with the blue clothes'.

"His name's Jaime. There are a few others, but he's in charge of the team—and, yes, it's been an ongoing effort." The old man smiles.

"Jaimie," Caden mutters, staring at the old man for a long moment. "Uhm... thanks. A lot. I'm gonna go... look for this Jaime person." And he really is going to do just that. The sooner he gets out of here, the sooner he can get back to Hex and... "God dammit..." He had forgotten about the suckiness that was his life right now. God dammit indeed.
