Meet-n-Greet

After being released from stasis, having the slime removed from their bodies and clothed in the creepy, pulsing leaf-suit that everyone wore, and being taken to the Weapons & Possessions lockers to collect their belongings, the new arrivals would find themselves standing in the Observation Deck. Round windows lined the fleshy walls, revealing the bright display of lights that was inter-dimensional travel. They would also discover that there were people--members of the command staff and crew that had woken earlier--waiting for them.

Katara nodded.

"Really? That's hard, I can imagine. Well, I can't really, but it must be tough. I don't know anything about aliens, just how bad people can act when they're greedy."

Chris nodded.

"Yeah. Some people want power and even though bad things happen I like thinking there's more good in people than evil."

Katara nodded. "I think a lot of people are like that. Sadly, there's also people that like to exploit situations where they can keep people under their thumbs. But so far, I can't say I've seen too many bad people here. You've been here longer, right? What have you seen?"

"Too long." Chris agreed with Katara. "But... Most people here are generally good. I'v seen a lot of weird things like talking velociraptors and apparently there are some aliens here too, but from what I hear they won't harm you unless you give them a reason to. Also..."

Chris hesitated. He wasn't sure if he should do this but Katara was hoenst with him so he should be with her. "There's a command structure here. When there's missions we get separated into teams. I'm on team Foxtrot."

"Taht's what I thought," Katar said, "Although you might need to tell me what a velociraptor is. We don't really have them in my world, or I'm sure I would have heard about them." She would worry about the aliens alter. THere was hardly going to be a problem on that end unless they mean Katara or any of her friends physical harm.

Katara nodded. "Oh, I talked to master Cheif, and he told me a liittle about the teams. I don't know which one I'm assigned to yet though. It should probabaly be with someone who's been here a little longer, right?"
