Meet and Greet Part Deux: The Socialing

The new people will find themselves ushered out of Obs Deck, so it can be shot down to the planet again, to pick the crew up. Eventually, the crew members on the mission are brought back up, and the doors open to let the two groups meet.

The newbies are likely not expecting their new crew-mates to come back bearing presents--which some of them are.

[ooc: This time anyone can post in. REMEMBER TO TAG OTHER PEOPLE, THO. This is set after the mission so mission peoples can meet the newbies. Latecomer newbies, if you want, you can just tag your guys into this one to make things easier.]

Erwin is there of course. His eyes almost pop out of his head as he sees even more people - strange creatures and things he'd never imagined. He adjusts his Fritz helmet on his head and shrugs his rifle a bit higher on his shoulder, grinning like a maniac as he takes it all in. This is strange, wondrous - and quite exciting. He walks through the crowd, simply taking it all in.

Obi-Wan had never been on quite as...interesting a mission, and he'd never thought he'd be happy to get back into the oppressive humidity of Stacy's interior. Still, he couldn't help but smile and pat the gently pulsing wall in welcome as he felt that sense of life close in around him. And, of course, he brought gifts.

Ho-ho-ho, Santa-Wan Kenobi is home.

Nanoha's cheeks are rosy from the cold - it's been a while since she's been out in the snow for that long - but she's smiling, and still wearing the reindeer hats.

That mission turned out to be rather enjoyable, actually. All's well that ends well, right? They'd brought cheer back to people, and you couldn't ask for more than that.

She stepped out into the Obs Deck.

Brenda is back, feeling better for some helping, and even more so for being able to do some shopping. She found presents for almost everyone she wanted to get something for. Paco is first on the list (due for a half dozen cargo shorts and some choice snack foods) but Brenda sets her haul aside to stay around and meet up with some of the new faces on the ship before rushing off.

What a time this was to have new people drop in...

Because your average gathering on this ship doesn't have enough large apex predators, Haku came in his natural form. It wasn't that he wasn't pleased to be back, it was that he was trying to get a good view. He was a young Kami, and so his humanform was quite short. As a dragon he had a long neck, and used to to great effect, craning it conspicuously over the welcoming party to see who had been brought forth, among the newcomers.

Wedge is hanging out on the Obs Deck again, watching the returning crew members for someone, anyone he might recognize. He's pretty hard to miss, considering he's wearing a bright orange flightsuit over his plantsuit and has a blaster strapped at his side.

This had been one of the most interesting missions of her career. Infiltration was always fun. She didn't have any presents persay, but the memories would stay engraved in her mind.

And it looked like she had just missed the next batch of poddrops. If she got lucky, she might meet other Hunters. That could be fun.

Billy may be somewhat late to the party. He has to slip off to retrieve some of the projects he'd hidden in the labs and wrap them in messy blue paper. The timing is convenient, and he enjoys participating in the holiday festivities. His allowance had gone a long way toward completing some much-desired projects that would now be gifted to his friends.

Newly invigorated by both the cold atmosphere and the weight of what they had just accomplished, he slings his sack of fun science-y toys over his shoulder and greets the gathered people with a smile.

If only I'd thought to hang a 'ENGINEERS MEET HERE' sign over this area, he thinks, trying and failing to discern which new podmates he needs to talk to. Oh well. In the spirit of socializing with everyone, he would continue to wave and look friendly, in a manner that might otherwise be called 'dorky'.

Oh, and he has a terrible case of hat hair. Feel free to laugh.

Julian only came back with a handful of gifts, not like he had a whole lot of people he wanted to give stuff to. He was kind of surprised that there seemed to be a few more people around than when they all left.

Seems a podpop happened while they were on mission.

He looked around, wondering if he'd find someone he recognized. Or at least some new hot girls to hit on.

Inara watched in absolute fascination as what appeared to be older crew members beginning to mingle with the newer ones. A small smile appeared on her lips as she watched them greeting each other, it was sweet really.

She reached up and pushed her dark curls back over her shoulder as she turned slightly so she was able to observe more of the crew. She's not trying to see if there are others from her world there, as Mal had said it was just her, Kaylee and him there. But, she was enjoying the 'people' watching.

Despite how things were progressing, this was not the most bizarre day in Stephanie Brown's life. Waking up naked and covered in goo wasn't exactly pleasant (though, even more awkwardly, it wasn't exactly unpleasant either), but at least someone had left her something to change into after things were through.

"Alright. I'm clean and clothed now. Thanks a lot for undressing me like that. I really appreciate it. Now, where's the camera crew and which T.V. show is this?"

[identity profile] kaya-waterwave.livejournal.com 2010-01-05 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
She was happy to be back, but a part of her might always be back at that small section on earth. At the very least, she knew that she missed home more than she expected. The snow, the ice, the cold: it had made her remember the bits and pieces of the Southern Water Tribe, and right now she just wanted to see something that reminded her of that home, when she was all settled.

But that didn't mean she returned empty handed. She had a few small gifts: one for Roxie, one for Carol and one for Luna, who she hadn't seen in a long tome but really missed.

There was no way Kang was going to miss this. While he was sure that there weren't any other draconians on board the ship, from the reactions of those that hadn't been down on the planet, that didn't mean others from Krynn weren't around. Hell, he'd even be happy with a Dark Knight or a metallic dragon (as unlikely as the latter was)!

...so maybe that was an exaggeration. Still, he didn't like the thought of being the only one from his world awake.

Matt was limping. It was to be expected considering how roughed up he was. Magic coursed through his veins like Christmas Day however, healing his wounds at an accelerated pace so that his big friend Aeneas wouldn't baby him when he saw him next.

Still however, the young man was grinning widely, all flush with laughter as he shouldered one of the non-magic bags. "HO HO HO!" boomed the teenager as he sat down like a king upon a throne. "Santa-Matt bringing presents for the new arrivals!"

With a groan, he sat down and resolved to get his leg looked at. It was going to be a long day but things could wait. Besides, some of the new arrivals looked really damn cool.

Claire returned with a few bags of her own, having managed to find a little time between gift giving to pick up some things for her loved ones. She was surprised to see new faces among the crew, and slowed a little from what she'd originally intended to be a beeline for her quarters, curious as to if there was anyone she might know among the new faces, and to try and introduce herself to one or two of the faces she didn't know, while she was at it.

And if she could find the intended recipients of the stuff she was lugging, that would be that much less she'd have to drag all the way back to her room.

There's a brief bit of time after Jamie walked into the wall where he's making sure he hasn't dislocated his jaw - and looks especially out of sorts. Eventually, though (once he's convinced he's intact), he finds space on one of the meatcouches and plunks himself down.

He'll just watch the door from there for any familiar faces. All things considered, it might just be safer.

She walked on the deck, watching most of the other crewmen interact quietly. There was one thought ringing in her mind. What if? What if I meet someone I know?

It was pointless thoughts, really. Who was she expecting to show up. Hachi? Nell? Or Sturm forbid, Olaf? It would still be a small touch of familiarity she could use, even if it meant she'd have to avoid him for the rest of...however long they were here. Someone to plot against would be nice.

Lash had a feeling he wasn't there, however. None of them were, unless the records they were given access to about the active ship members were wrong. Considering the technology, that seemed nearly impossible.
It was odd, this feeling of being alone and the pointless clinging to hope. She had run away from Orange Star to escape possible confinement for her actions, but now the reality of the situation hit her, and the fact they were gone made her sigh quietly. Commanding Officers had no place for tears. So used to having crowds people to interact with, to yell at her, to tell her to build things or not to build things, the small girl couldn't help but realize the irony of being surrounded by a sea of crew-mates, and yet feeling like she was the only person there at that moment.

She'd need to start working on inventions soon, or else she had a feeling she'd end up being miserable.

Kelly had a rather large bag slung over her armored shoulder. Her helmet was held easily under one arm as she threaded her way through the crowd, looking for a few of the people she'd gotten presents for. There was a multitude of presents in the bag over her shoulder. But she did have a few choice items she'd picked up for the few people she knew well enough to get presents for. As well as for a few who she didn't know too well but had simply wanted to get presents for.

Either way, she'd have a lot of extra left over.

It had been a rather productive, if ultimately destructive mission for Lex. But he had to admit that there was something rather satisfying about breaking the Macrohard corporation into pieces and walking away with a nice chunk of cash in the process.

But even more satisfying was getting back into a tailor made three piece suit. Clothes do make the man, as they say.

He hadn't returned without things for the others, though. As per his agreement with Captain Picard, Lex returned with a couple of pallets containing a few ship essentials. Most notably there were some clothes for the rest of the crew (and extra to cover the next several podpops); and some more food, though it would only stretch out their current supplies for a month or two. He didn't exactly have much time to pull the order together and get it delivered to the arctic via airdrop, but that he managed at all is impressive in and of itself.

But unloading supplies was the crew's problem. Much like loading it was. He wasn't going to mess up his new suit.

Asuka leaned against one of the walls, watching the returning crew. Great. So, here they were again. Still trapped on board this thing, still inter-dimensional refugees. She still hated this place. She snorted to herself and shook her head. Nothing to do but wait and see who shows up.

Since Stacy had been kind enough to provide her with her headdress and cloak, Wanda wore both of them. It was an odd combination, plantsuit and scarlet, but she didn't feel quite as naked. This would also make things easier if Carol, Iceman, Jean, Vision or anyone else to find her.

Lyle hurried down to the meet. While this had been a good opportunity to paw through everyone's stuff while they were away explore, he was much happier to have everyone back.

He stopped on the edge of the crowd, not wanting to step between the reuniting friends, and checked his ring.

[identity profile] static-shock68.livejournal.com 2010-01-05 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Static was humming to himself when the doors opened, some Christmas song he'd heard on the planet somewhere. He was carrying a rather large sack, stuffed almost to the brim with presents; one for every Outsider. Hey, they were his team, right?

Of course, he'd forgotten that the pods were popped while he'd been gone, so he was a slight bit surprised to see all the new faces. So many new people, and he had no outsiders fliers.

Well, it was a holiday. Recruiting could wait.

Returning, she'd had several noticeable injuries, but nothing that really mattered to her in the long run: nothing that hurt her enough anyway. They would be gone after sleep anyway, and now that she'd appeased her appetite for crushing things, she was satiated there. Yet another avoiding of potential injury to the other members of the crew. She would have to hope these sorts of things happened more often, if not she would have to create a part of Silent Hill. After all, her wanting nothing to befall the crew due to her was only a pipe dream: she would always be compelled to make her city of nightmares.

Coming back to the ship, Alessa was hit with a hint if melancholy. She felt as if someone who was from her world had fallen through, no longer going on the ship. She didn't know why she felt like that, but she did, and there was little she could do about it.

Though strangely enough, she DID manage to grab a few items from the North Pole. She knew earth customs enough to know this happened, and wanted to be included in maintaining the appearence of a normal person on the ship for now.
