Meet and Greet Part Deux: The Socialing

The new people will find themselves ushered out of Obs Deck, so it can be shot down to the planet again, to pick the crew up. Eventually, the crew members on the mission are brought back up, and the doors open to let the two groups meet.

The newbies are likely not expecting their new crew-mates to come back bearing presents--which some of them are.

[ooc: This time anyone can post in. REMEMBER TO TAG OTHER PEOPLE, THO. This is set after the mission so mission peoples can meet the newbies. Latecomer newbies, if you want, you can just tag your guys into this one to make things easier.]

"Thanks." He adjusted the jacket, then slung his sword and shotgun on again. He looked vaguely like some post-apoctalyptic warrior now. Max Max status is go.

"At least some people are. I'm just confused right now. My sister is being super weird. But then again, she's my sister, so weird is kind of normal..."

She raised a gloved hand to push her hair back out of her eyes. He did look like someone out of one of those ancient movies, but it was cute. Sort of.

"Your sister?" A pause. "Weird how? I wouldn't say I'm an authority on all things female," she smirked, "but I might have an idea."

"What? No! That's...um...something different. I mean...like, she wants to join this weird group called the Bene Gesserit and I'm not sure it's the best thing for her." Sokka shrugged, shoving his hands into the pockets of his new jacket.

"Bene Gesserit?" She raised a brow. There were factions like that on the ship? Hmm. "Well, what are these Bene Gesserits in the first place? Do you have any reason to think they might harm her or cause her to come to harm?" Because really, more people getting hurt, or more factions was the last thing they needed on the ship.

"They're like...this weird kind of order. They do martial arts and other stuff, but there's this stuff called Spice involved. And Katara says she doesn't have to take any if she doesn't want to, but I'm still worried. She's really upset that I don't like them or the idea of her joining them." He sighed.

"I just don't want her to get hurt."

She nodded, listening. Sounded like the cults she'd read about a long time ago. Substance abuse? Hmm. And Katara was his sister? Well, things were starting to make more sense now. "Well you've got a right to be worried, she is your sister after all. But did you make your concerns known to her? I think family should support each other in whatever they each choose to do. Regardless of whether they approve." She smiled, nudging him in the back chummily.

"Besides, if anything does happen, I'm sure we can save her. And lay serious hurt on whoever's responsible for it in the process."

"I told her, but she just said I was being close minded." Sokka rolled his eyes, making it clear what he thought of that assessment.

"She just...when she thinks she's right nothing is gonna stop her. Not me or my dad or anyone. Maybe Aang." He smiled gave Kelly a pat on the back in return, refraining from a slap since he doesn't want to break his hand.

"Yeah. Not like the captain will let anything happen to her."

Well, it wasn't anything she hadn't heard of before though. "Just give her some time. I'm sure she'll settle down."

"I think you'll find that most women are that way. But that my friend," She grinned down at him, "is because we're usually right anyway."

"Definitely. And she's got friends watching over her too. She'll be fine."
