Meet and Greet Part Deux: The Socialing

The new people will find themselves ushered out of Obs Deck, so it can be shot down to the planet again, to pick the crew up. Eventually, the crew members on the mission are brought back up, and the doors open to let the two groups meet.

The newbies are likely not expecting their new crew-mates to come back bearing presents--which some of them are.

[ooc: This time anyone can post in. REMEMBER TO TAG OTHER PEOPLE, THO. This is set after the mission so mission peoples can meet the newbies. Latecomer newbies, if you want, you can just tag your guys into this one to make things easier.]

Great. They had to go through this again.

"Well, I didn't actually die, Tim. Leslie faked my death so that I wouldn't be in danger anymore. She took me out of the country, but I couldn't just abandon everyone..."

He blinked a few times. She'd... faked it?

"But... I read the autopsy. There were pictures." Though--come to that--she hadn't been especially recognizable in any of them.

Stephanie shrugged her shoulders slightly, giving her blonde head a shake.

"It was all part of Leslie's plan. I had no idea it would go so far, but she only wanted to protect me."

Her expression softening, the young woman reached out to rest a hand on the teenager's arm. "I'm really sorry, Tim. You know I would never do that to hurt you intentionally."

Of course he knew that. But.

He shook off her hand, frowning. "You haven't heard of a phone? I thought you were dead. Your Mom thought you were dead. Bruce and I went to your funeral. What part of that wasn't supposed to hurt?"

It was all that she deserved. Sure, she had hoped that the teenage boy would be able to just look past the deception and be glad for her return, but she knew him too well to really believe he would.

"I had to disappear completely. The entire city found out my identity and if I would have stayed we all would have been in danger. I couldn't live with myself if you or Cass got hurt because of me."

"We did get hurt because of you," Tim said, looking back at her accusingly. "There's more than one way to hurt someone. We care about you. Living with what happened to you--what we thought happened to you--hurt a lot." And didn't she think they could take care of themselves? He and Cass had both survived Bludhaven and the giant bullseyes the Penguin had painted on their backs. They were both extremely capable.

And Steph would have been there with them to face whatever fallout they might have had to deal with together.
