Meet and Greet Part Deux: The Socialing

The new people will find themselves ushered out of Obs Deck, so it can be shot down to the planet again, to pick the crew up. Eventually, the crew members on the mission are brought back up, and the doors open to let the two groups meet.

The newbies are likely not expecting their new crew-mates to come back bearing presents--which some of them are.

[ooc: This time anyone can post in. REMEMBER TO TAG OTHER PEOPLE, THO. This is set after the mission so mission peoples can meet the newbies. Latecomer newbies, if you want, you can just tag your guys into this one to make things easier.]

Oh, today just wasn't his day.

He hated it when things like this happened. Disarmed and being led to a cell, without back up? Not good. Not good at all.

"The weapon's not necessary." He kept his hands firmly up and free from any possible weapons--not that the plantsuit could conceal many. "There's no need for a production about it. If you want, we can go down to security to discuss it, but threat of violence is unnecessary."

It was worth trying to explain, at least. If things went badly...well...he was working on that plan.

Inara nodded slowly, and dropped her hand back to her side. "Oh course, I completely understand."

She looked over at the crazy man and decided if he got into any trouble for this, she'd at least suggest he get some mental help.

"Which way do we need to go?"

"Major Kusanagi," She supplied Erwin, then half-ordered, half-replied, setting her palm against Cam's shoulder. Her grip wasn't rough, but it was a warning as she tucked her gun away, "The brig, in the city. You know the way."

Erwin does his best to click his heels for the Major again, "Oberschütze Erwin Fischer."

That done, he gestures for Inara to follow Cam and the Major, "After you, please."

So they were both soldiers. Grumpy as the woman was, there was minute reassurance in that. All he didn't need to deal with was a trigger-happy gunslinger. The fact that she holstered her--whatever--helped, too.

Of course, things were still up in the air about whether he'd manage to explain the situation properly once down in the City, or if he'd end up with a stay in the brig yet.

He really preferred not to have that stay in the brig.

She nodded her head again and supressed the urge to sigh about the whole thing. She hadn't done anything but stand there and watch people. But well the only way to clear the whole thing up it seemed was to go along with them to the brig.

"Thank you," she murmured politely and turned to follow the others toward the City the woman had spoke of.

Should I get Leon in on this....or would it be mroe prudent to ahve a separate log?

Sorry, Cam, but you just don't get a vote about the police escort through the city, nor the destination. Neither Leon nor anyone else seems to be in attendance in the precinct right now, which is unsurprising given the hubub on the obs deck and the current number of inmates: none.

Without ceremony, the Major opens a cell, and invites Cam inside before locking him in, then doing the same for Inara. It's all very calm and civilized, right down to the detail in which there are two empty cells separating the two of them. Perhaps that much is paranoia, but nobody gets to Motoko's position in life without being professionally paranoid. She doesn't speak.

I vote seperate log, myself. Although I could go either way

Erwin fell in behind the small group, rifle slung and marching at an easy pace. The city gave him pause - it looked to be as big as Frankfurt, if not larger - and by the time they finally reached the holding cells, he was thoroughly impressed (again) by the sheer size of this place.

He decided not to ask the Major questions unless he was spoken to. That seemed a safe bet, for now.

Either Works For Me. I'm Not Picky.

The part of the City Inara had been able to see was absolutely breath taking - sadly she didn't get to see much as she was ushered inside the precinct and placed in a cell.

Like a common criminal.

She sat down on the bunk that was in the cell and snuck a look over at the man who had caused the whole mess. He didn't look crazy, though she supposed truly crazy people rarely did.

After a few minutes, she pushed gracefully to her feet and moved closer to the bars of her cell. "How long am I to be kept here?"

Either indeed.

Well. It could have been worse. The other woman, who might or might not have actually been Adria, could have been sitting free. That she also sat in a cell meant that they didn't believe he'd gone completely crazy.

He hadn't, by the way.

Which was why he simply crossed his arms, sat down, and waited. Compliance usually made ones captor more willing to negotiate. When force wasn't an option, obviously.

Ok, then, we'll do it here.

Leon got a message from the Major, where she basically told him a brief version of what was going on. Effectively that Cam may have lost his mind since he pulled a gun on unarmed woman. Though he may also have had good reason to.

Either way, she left them both in brig.

Several minutes later, Leon finally arrived. He walked down the hallway where the holding cells were and paused briefly in front of Inara's. "I'll get to you in a minute," was all he told her, before moving over to stand in front of Cam's cell.

"So... Cam. Care to tell me what's going on?"

It was a flashback to the early days of her association with Aramaki. The Major simply stood against the wall, watching intently and listening closely while staring off into the air directly in front of her face with the plastic, unfocused gaze of a department store dummy. The joys of technology.
