Meet and Greet Part Deux: The Socialing

The new people will find themselves ushered out of Obs Deck, so it can be shot down to the planet again, to pick the crew up. Eventually, the crew members on the mission are brought back up, and the doors open to let the two groups meet.

The newbies are likely not expecting their new crew-mates to come back bearing presents--which some of them are.

[ooc: This time anyone can post in. REMEMBER TO TAG OTHER PEOPLE, THO. This is set after the mission so mission peoples can meet the newbies. Latecomer newbies, if you want, you can just tag your guys into this one to make things easier.]

"Sateda faught back, alright. We weren't going to let them do whatever they wanted to us. So they captured and wiped out my people. About 300 Satedans survived the attack and now live on other worlds."

He was proud that his home stood up to the Wraith even if it meant the end for them. That's what bravery was on Sateda.

"Not going down without a fight. That's something I very much agree with," Kang grinned to himself. That was something to be proud of, to stand up for yourself. "The Dark Knights learned not to mess with us."

Ronon grinned. He was glad that someone understood him.

"What happened with the Dark Knights?" Ronon was always up for hearing battle stories.

"My kind, draconians, were created for a war. To better control our numbers, they didn't let us know that females had been created as well, but not allowed to hatch," Kang snorted. War was lost, we weren't useful anymore, and my men and I went into the mountains, wanting to be left alone. A couple decades later, we found out about the females, retrieved them, and decided to move somewhere else."

Shaking his head, he continued. "The Dark Knights, former allies, found out about the females, managed to hole us up in a fort with the bulk of what was left of the race, and tried to kill us all off. We fought the bastards off." Of course, he'd also had to take care of a crazy aurak at the same time, but that wasn't the current focus.

"Your former allies thought you were no threat because you couldn't reproduce? You must've shown them, then. How long were you holed up for?" Ronon thought it was an interesting story. You can learn good lessons from battle stories.

Kang nodded. "They were waiting for us to die out. The first time, they'd chased my regiment for over a year, and we were stuck in that fort for... half a fortnight. They didn't learn the first time, though. After we'd established our own nation, they thought we'd swear fealty to them. I told them no, they besieged us again, and we drove them off."

Ronon was grinning. You think they'd have learnt the first time. This story would have been even better in a tavern with some alcohol in hand. "What were the Dark Knights? They weren't Draconians right? Were they human?" A strange question since Ronon was human himself, but he's learnt that not all human civilasations are bright. And those were the ones that needed an ass kicking.

Kang liked Ronon so far. Grin fading slightly, he shifted his balance back to his feet, "Yeah. Humans. Only ever had any respect for one of them: the Knights, that is. She was the one that gave us warning. Bastards were paying goblins to take us out."

Oh, he would have completely agreed with the tavern and alcohol. And speaking of that... "Is there anything to eat around here that isn't that slop? I'd kill for some real meat and some good ale."

Ronon had to shake his head at that. "Then all's not lost on us humans."

Kang had so far left a good impression in Ronon's mind. "There is real food here, but you have to go to the Lounge to eat it. And even then it's periodic until Stacy's food stores fill up again. Might have happened while we were on the planet." Ronon shrugged. "What most of us have been doing before the real food was going into the Sensoriums to eat. You're really eating the gloop but the Sensoriums turn it into whatever you want to eat. It's great."

"I hope so," Kang snorted. "I haven't been here very long and I'm already getting sick of it. Tastes almost bad as the goo we were forced to eat at the fort." He really shouldn't have been complaining; bad-tasting food was better than none at all, and he really didn't want to experience that again.

"These sensoriums sound like they cast an illusion spell."

Ronon grinned. He rarely ate the goo in it's actual form since he learnt what the Sensoriums could do with it.

"It is bad, huh? You should check out the Sensoriums sometime. It's like an illusion spell and it can make any scenario you want. A lot of people use them for training." The Sensoriums were a good place to hang out.

Kang laughed, "At least it doesn't sit in my stomach like a small boulder for hours. I'm going to have to check them out soon, then, see if they can get shredded venison right."

"I haven't seen them get anything wrong so far," He said in approval.

Ronon let out a yawn - who knew gift giving could be so tiring? "I'm gonna hit the 'showers' and then get some shut eye. We should spar sometime."

"That bodes well for me, then," Kang smiled. "It was a pleasure talking to you, Ronon. I should warn you, though, that draconians don't always fight fair. If you're fine with that..." He grinned, tail lashing once.
