Meet and Greet Part Deux: The Socialing

The new people will find themselves ushered out of Obs Deck, so it can be shot down to the planet again, to pick the crew up. Eventually, the crew members on the mission are brought back up, and the doors open to let the two groups meet.

The newbies are likely not expecting their new crew-mates to come back bearing presents--which some of them are.

[ooc: This time anyone can post in. REMEMBER TO TAG OTHER PEOPLE, THO. This is set after the mission so mission peoples can meet the newbies. Latecomer newbies, if you want, you can just tag your guys into this one to make things easier.]

Claire laughed, nodding her head. "The list of people I wanted to get things for just kept getting longer." And she didn't know when they'd get the opportunity to go to an Earthlike planet again. She nodded her head at Kelly's question, absently shifting the bags she still held around and rubbing her arm.

"Yeah. I think we made a lot of people happy, and it was nice seeing an Earth again."

"I know the feeling. The list just didn't stop growing." It was probably one of the more peaceful planets there were going to visit. And Kelly was glad they'd had the opportunity to relax for awhile. The planets ahead may not have been quite so enjoyable.

"I haven't seen Earth in years. But it was good seeing a version of it again. And making the people happy was an added bonus." If only all their missions could have been that simple. But then again, they probably wouldn't have been much fun if they were.

"Definitely," she agreed, before tilting her head very slightly like she'd just remembered something. "Speaking of..." She lifted the bags she still held up and rummaged around in one of them for a moment before pulling a wrapped box and holding it out to Kelly.

"That's for you." Granted she hadn't spoken with Kelly much, but it was something that had caught Claire's eye, and she definitely liked Kelly.

"Mm?" Kelly shifted her helmet under her other arm before taking the present and looking at it quizzically. Had she seriously gotten her something? Well, that had certainly been unexpected. But of course, she could return in kind. She'd lugged all kinds of things back up from the surface after all. Smiling, she pulled the wrapping away.

"Thank you, Claire." She did secretly hope it wasn't something...sparkly though.

Please, Kelly. Claire was hardly the type of person to buy sparkly gifts for someone so obviously not a girly-girl. She'd rarely buy them for someone who was a girly-girl, even.

"Don't mention it," she replied, smiling a little and shifting her bags around again. "I was just getting into the spirit." God only knows with the way time moves on the ship when they'd get to celebrate Christmas again. Kelly would find inside the box a set of throwing knives.

That was something she would have been thrilled to know. Really, if she'd gotten something sparkly, she wouldn't have known what to do with it most likely. She wasn't exactly well trained in the arts of feminity.

Looking into the box, she couldn't help a quiet laugh, and a shake of her head. Really, this woman. Pulling the knives from their holster, she twirled them between her fingers experimentally, smiling to herself before sliding back into their case. "They're perfect." A pause, before she reached into her own bag and pulled out a medium sized package and offered it to the woman.

"I do hope you find it useful." She smiled.

Claire grinned, glad Kelly seemed to like the knives. She was surprised when Kelly offered her something in return, but accepted it, still smiling.

"Thank you, Kelly." She set her bags down for a moment so she could unwrap the gift, curious.
