Meet and Greet Part Deux: The Socialing

The new people will find themselves ushered out of Obs Deck, so it can be shot down to the planet again, to pick the crew up. Eventually, the crew members on the mission are brought back up, and the doors open to let the two groups meet.

The newbies are likely not expecting their new crew-mates to come back bearing presents--which some of them are.

[ooc: This time anyone can post in. REMEMBER TO TAG OTHER PEOPLE, THO. This is set after the mission so mission peoples can meet the newbies. Latecomer newbies, if you want, you can just tag your guys into this one to make things easier.]

Jamie just gives Claudia a look. "Ye would be verra surprised." He is perfectly good at being sneaky, when he's not feeling the need to prove himself in front of a girl.

He's glad, though, that she's not mad, and he grins at her. "But I'll keep it in mind. Maybe ye can give me sneaky lessons or something."

She eyed him suspiciously. "Do you even need sneaky lessons?" No, she's so not going to fall for helping him out if he doesn't need it... Again.

"You just said that I wasna very sneaky," Jamie points out, reasonably. "But I can understand if ye do not believe me after the last time, so..."

He shrugs as if to say it's no big deal.

"Ye can always show me stuff with lasers instead." Really, he'll take any excuse he can get to spend a little more time with her.

"Well you never know with guys," Claudia shrugged, and crossed her legs before swinging her crossed leg slowly.

"Hmmm maybe. But are you sure you don't know anything about lasers? I might have to zap you in the butt if I ended up going on and on and then come to find out you already knew everything I was talking about."

"Hey!" Jamie harrumphs. "Like ye women are any better." For a moment, he considers taking up the space Claudia vacated by crossing her legs, then decides he'll be nice and not actually do so. Besides, there's lasers to discuss.

"I know ye can shoot things with them, if ye make the right type of gun." That worked pretty well against the Quarks. Of course, so did bunging a rock at them, but the gun was much more satisfying. He smiles a bit at the memory.

"And I know they're useful for other things, but when the Doctor talks about it he tends to go on and on and on." Wait, didn't Claudia just say she might do that too? Hurriedly, he adds, "But you're much cuter than he is." He'd certainly be more willing to listen, he thinks - and completely fails to realize he just told Claudia he thought she was cute.

"Hey now!" Claudia protested, her lips turning down into a pout. "I'm a very.. straight forward person..." she grinned then. "Most of the time." OK, so she wasn't a liar or anything, but sometimes she sorta kinda streeeeeeeeetched the truth.

Her eyebrows shot up and she'd have said something, but then he'd gone and said she was cuter than the doctor person. Her grin grew and she fluttered her eyelashes at him. "Well of course I'm cuter! I'm cuter and know lots about lasers. OK not lots lots, but enough to build them and blow something up."

Jamie makes a noise in the back of his throat that rather sounds like "Mmmphmm." It's unclear, however, if it's a reaction to Claudia claiming to be straightforward or his slip.

It appears it's only one of those two options, as he comments dryly on the third. "Ye and Wyn should form a blowing-things-up group." He'd watch - well, from a safe distance, anyway. Having an escape route handy might not also be such a bad plan.

"So," he asks after a moment, "Are ye willing to show me things about lasers sometime then?"
