Meet and Greet Part Deux: The Socialing

The new people will find themselves ushered out of Obs Deck, so it can be shot down to the planet again, to pick the crew up. Eventually, the crew members on the mission are brought back up, and the doors open to let the two groups meet.

The newbies are likely not expecting their new crew-mates to come back bearing presents--which some of them are.

[ooc: This time anyone can post in. REMEMBER TO TAG OTHER PEOPLE, THO. This is set after the mission so mission peoples can meet the newbies. Latecomer newbies, if you want, you can just tag your guys into this one to make things easier.]

"Now that's be a switch. But no dice sweetheart. This isn't some reality TV show." He shoved his hands into his jacket and regarded the girl in front of him. He'd seen her somewhere before, he was sure of it. But for some reason he couldn't place her name. Which probably meant she didn't matter, but he didn't like not knowing someone. Especially if they were from his world, and he was sure she was.

Just as his hands moved into his jacket, Stephanie's shot forward in a friendly attempt of greeting. She was experiencing the same feeling of familiarity with Jason, but the connection just wasn't making it.

"Hey tha- Oh..." Her am lamely fell to her side, her grin dimming slightly. "That's probably for the best."

Jason noticed the jester and raised a brow. "Thought I was someone else sugar?" He needed to think of better nicknames for the teen girls around this ship. One of them was bound to knock him on his ass one of these days.

"Ah, no, I don't think so." The nickname didn't go unnoticed, but considering how kindly most thugs are to her when she shows up in costume, Steph could care less. "You seem kinda familiar, but I get that feeling pretty often."

Jason took a real good look at this girl. And his eyes widened a bit when he finally remembered where he'd seen her. Granted she had been a bit younger, but she was still the same girl. "Spoiler? You're the Spoiler aren't you?" He didn't want to make an idiot of himself, but he had to know for certain. Plus this girl and him had a common enemy if it was her.

"Huh?" Her blue eyes flying open, Stephanie looked like she had been punched in the gut. How the hell did this guy know her old identity? God, it was almost like someone had put out a newsletter about her life and handed it out to everyone in Gotham.

"How did you know? I mean, uh, yeah. That was me. I used to be the Spoiler."

[identity profile] reallyiscrazy.livejournal.com 2010-01-11 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Jason held out his hand, smirking a bit as he did so. "Name's Jason Todd. Otherwise known as the Red Hood, Red Robin, or well just Jason Todd." He laughed and shook his head. "I knew of you because of the crap with Black Mask. The guy was a douche bag and a half. Would have made his life a bigger living hell if I could have."

He blinked a bit and frowned. "What do you mean by 'used to be'? The capes in Gotham don't just quit.

[identity profile] not-a-spoiler.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
Stephanie took his hand with great enthusiasm, shaking maybe a little too roughly for a girl her size. "Oh! I know you! Wow, another Robin. I forgot how many of us there were." Yes, she was still very proud of her brief stint as Robin.

"He sure was... I'm glad he's gone." Despite her burst of happiness at recognizing Jason, it was only natural for the young girl to frown at Black Mask's mention. He was not someone she'd want to discuss again.

"Yeah, used to be. I got promoted!"

[identity profile] reallyiscrazy.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah... I think there are five of us now. All of which are here, which is right down strange. Dick, Me, Timmy, you, and Damian." He shook his head and frowned a bit. He wasn't frowning at her being happy Mask was gone, just the last little bit.

"How do you get promoted in the hero biz? And what did you get promoted to?"

Well, the whole story was going to be saved for another day, but short version always sounded great! Sending a beaming smile up to Jason, her posture straightened before she spoke.

"I'm Batgirl now. The last one handed her cowl down to me."

She'll be sticking to that story until proved otherwise.

[identity profile] reallyiscrazy.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Jason blinked a few times. His ears must have been broken, had this little mall rat just say she was Batgirl? No way. Couldn't be. He was going to kick Dick's ass if it were true.

"Batgirl." He bit into his bottom lip, looked her over and couldn't help but burst into laughter. "Oh god. That's a good one. You, as Batgirl."

[identity profile] not-a-spoiler.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Just the reaction she needed. Shoulders slumping, the teenager's head bowed down.

"...Yeah, really funny. Even more funny cause it's sorta true."

[identity profile] reallyiscrazy.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Jason stopped laughing and looked down at the girl. Running a hand through his hair he frowned. "Sorry princess, it's just.. well I didn't think the old man liked you all that much, and for you to take the title of Batgirl?"

He closed his eyes, kicking himself mentally. This was the perfect way to make friends, laugh in their faces about something they were proud of. He reached out for her, but then stopped short.

"I'm sorry, Stephanie... it's Stephanie right? It's just, I'm not good at this apologizing thing... How about we head to the Sensoriums and you show me what you got?"
