Meet and Greet Part Deux: The Socialing

The new people will find themselves ushered out of Obs Deck, so it can be shot down to the planet again, to pick the crew up. Eventually, the crew members on the mission are brought back up, and the doors open to let the two groups meet.

The newbies are likely not expecting their new crew-mates to come back bearing presents--which some of them are.

"Well, that's good. But just remember, you can't rely on magical healing alone. Make sure to rest for the next few days." Fate said, smiling. She really was a total mom, wasn't she?

"And I'll be fine! Just a little drained of magic, that's all."

Matt chuckled as he nodded. "I'll make sure to swing by the medical wing before I get a few days of sleep."

"And yeah, I know the feeling. I think I put out more magic than I ever wanted to in my life." he added with a little grin.

Aeneas woke up briefly, curious by the unfamiliar voice that he was still positive he'd heard somewhere before. Blinking his lavender eyes open, the alien realized that he had, in fact, seen this female during the battle. It would explain the conversation they were having now.

But, like a good little holiday helper, Aeneas left them to their discussion and rested his head back on the squishy floor.

"Ah.... you better be careful, then." The worried tone was back in her voice now. "I'm still not sure exactly how magic works on your world, but using too much for too long... you might hurt yourself."

"It can injure and heal like any other place, but it's the strength of your own heart that dictates how powerful you are," said Matt, thumping his chest and wincing as he did so, waggling his hand. "It sounds cheesy, but that's why there's five elements. Earth, Fire, Wind, Water and the Heart to Unite them."

"Strength of your own heart, huh...?" Fate chuckled. "That sounds like something Nanoha would say. And I completely agree with that."

Matt smiled at that as he played healing magic over his friend. "Yeah, without the heart to cast, you can't do anything. That, and love. It's what keeps me going."

"... I think that what keeps a lot of us going." Fate muttered, placing a hand over her heart. "Love and hope. Hope to be reunited with those we care about... hope to bring an end to this senseless destruction..."

She laughed quietly, to herself. It was odd, getting so sentimental out of nowhere... maybe the holiday spirit had something to do with it.

Matt smiled and quoted from one of his songs. "Lost and alone all we can do is wait / completely watch until the pain abates / seeking truth seeking life / all we have now is tonight."

He raised his voice, singing in acapela.
