Time for the 'meat' and greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

This had not been a good day for Wedge so far. He had woken up naked and covered in goo, had been forcibly cleaned and dressed by tentacles, and now was on the observation deck of some strange starship. Fortunately, he'd managed to retrieve his flightsuit, helmet, gloves and blaster. Not that it did a much better job than the plantsuit, but at least it felt a bit more normal...He sighed and looked quietly around the Obs Deck at the assembled, taking in these strangers. He had been "chosen" for a "great purpose," apparently. Of course there were no guarantees this wasn't some sort of strange Imperial trick, so he hung near the edge of the crowd, looking for someone who might be able to provide some answers.

Rein had found Hayate's bag with all her things in it, so for now, the tiny little woman was floating around carrying it around. She was dressed in her tiny little plantsuit (the smallest of them all) but she had extra clothing in case she needed it, including her combat uniform.

Floating around the myriad men and women, she nearly bumped into Wedge. "Oh! I'm terribly sorry desu~"

Komali peered past the doorway cautiously, trembling in every suction-dried feather and looking slightly more like a puffy chick than he normally did. He didn't know where he was, or what was going on, only that there was a woman's voice, saying he would have to fight. He didn't want to fight! He couldn't fight! Wouldn't!

Komali clutched at his clothing— and his treasure— and slowly edged his way into the room. Oh god, this was not fair. Where was Quill? Where was Midli? Where was the sky and the sea and— and everything!

This wasn't right, not at all.

"Komali." Came a voice that the young Ruto would find familiar, if only because besides Stacy it was probably the last voice he'd heard. As he walked towards Komali, his claws scratching softly against the ground, he looked down at the pearl clutched in his hands. Curiosity jabbed at him.

"You seem to be at unrest. Calm yourself."

Bobby smirked as he made his way around the Observation Deck. He had found his X-Men uniform in the possession locker, but as the plant suit he was wearing worked for clothes, he left all of it behind. Well all but a single pair of sunglasses he had found. He twirled them around his fingers and then slipped them on his face.

So what if he was on a ship, a telepathic ship, god knew where. It wasn't anything that he couldn't handle. Plus, anything was better than dealing with the mess that he had left back home.

Bobby moved towards the center of the room. Maybe his luck was going to finally turn around and he'll see some of his friends here. Then again, he could live without them.

Fletcher was confused. Still scared, but that had dulled until it was just a sort of pervasive worry rather than an all-encompassing fear. He was jumpy, flinching at the slightest loud noise -- that tended to happen whenever he found himself suddenly grabbed and dressed by weird energy... vine things. Which, to be honest, wasn't often.

In the storage space he'd found some of his chalk, and his hat, which he wasn't wearing but instead had clutched in his hands like a security blanket of some sort. He was standing near the middle of the room as Bobby approached, looking around to see if he could see a familiar face. Russel, Mr. Belshio, anyone.

Erwin looked horribly confused. He'd met some strange people on the lower decks and then been dressed by... tentacles. This all seemed like something out of a science-fiction magazine or a short story or a film. He'd been ushered through the possessions locker and there he'd manged to retrieve most of his field gear - e-tool, belt, y-straps, his trusty a-frame and ammo pouches, his rifle, breadbag (empty, unfortunately), his canteen (which had water in it, luckily) and his rifle. Oh, and his rather distinctive helmet, which was on his head. His gear looked a bit silly over the plantsuit, but it made him feel better. He might not be in uniform, but he had something familiar to hold onto.

So, rifle slung, he stood against one wall, watching with wide eyes. This had to be a dream. It had to be.

Unfortunately for Erwin, this wasn't a dream, even with the ten inch tall little woman floating by him clinging to life on what appeared to be a brown bag. She was straining a little but she soon settled down next to him. "Nice day isn't it desu?" inquired Rein with a little grin to the stranger.

He couldn’t find his gun. He couldn’t find his backpack, no less. He found his clothes, sure, but the pockets were emptied, and they smelled funny, like they’d been sitting around for a while. Dustin had half a mind to just sit down and roll in them, but that was hardly what he needed to be concerned with right now.

No, he needed to find his group. He needed to find Codi. She had to be here, right?

Staring out into the crowd, seeing no familiar faces, Dustin changed tactics. Who was in charge? Was it obvious to tell? No?

“Hey!” Dustin yelled as loud as he could, looking absolutely livid, “Who the hell is in charge here? And nobody better say ‘the ship’, because I’ll slit your windpipe before you can start laughing over your clever little @#$^* joke, alright?”

Kirk cocked a brow and pushed his way through the crowd. He raised a hand, trying to calm the rather angry man, "Excuse me, I'm Captain James T. Kirk, acting first officer. I understand you're very confused and distraught, but I need you to remain calm. Everything will be explained once we're sure all of the new arrivals are here. And if you try to kill anyone, I will have you in the brig so fast it will make your head spin, mister. Am I understood?"

In all honesty, Kaylee was all but terrified. She'd woken someplace she didn't know, naked and covered in a very suspicious substance, had been dressed by gorram tentacles, and had been ushered off into some other part of this definitely-living ship without much time to gather herself. The plantsuit pulsing against her skin definitely wasn't helping matters.

There were other people here, at least. People people, not holograms or plant people. It meant they weren't going to be eaten by some strange space monster, right? Not if there were others here, alive and well.

Kaylee swallowed, and took a few steps further into the room. At least she'd found a good portion of her tools in the locker, and the messenger bag they were in clanked comfortably against her side. A small comfort, but a comfort nonetheless.

Mal had been walking around the Obs Deck taking in the new faces and looking, hoping against home, for anyone he recognized. There was a chance, or so he heard, but whether he'd recognize anyone or not, he wasn't sure.

But then when he walked past a particular area of the room, he thought he saw a familiar face. Was she just a projection of his thoughts? Or was she really there?

There was only one way to find out. Mal stepped up to her, and said her name tentatively. "Kaylee..? Is that you?"

Simply put, this place was amazing. The plant suit was a bit weird, but hey, free clothes, right? The creepy tentacles really weren't enough to distract Rei from the sheer coolness of the ship. He walked slowly into the Obs Deck, looking around at the room, a huge grin plastered all over his face.

"Are we... in space?" He murmured in awe to no one in particular once he saw the opened blast shields.

Erwin trailed to a stop next to Rei, staring in awe as well. He shrugged, slipping his helmet off and tucking it under one arm. He spoke with a German accent, "I... I believe we are."

Sam's so not a fan of the tentacles. Really, really not a fan of the tentacles. Or the pulsing skin suit. Or the whole being Chosen thing. THAT he's had far too much of in his lifetime.

He has his gun when he enters the hall, tucking it into his...waistband, for lack of a better term. The pocket at the small of his back that the suit just seemed to create.

Best not to think about it, Sam.

He looks around, trying to use his height advantage to see if he can find Dean. Or Castiel. Or Bobby. Or maybe even Ellen and Jo. They had to be around here somewhere, right?

Dean was partly glad, partly upset he wasn't pegged for the mission. Still, would have been fun help saving Santa, but he was more worried about this big upcoming hunt. The nightmare dude took priority, and it looked like a lot of people were going already. They had plenty of backup, and somebody had to keep an eye to things up here.

Especially for possible family. So when he heard the announcement about the podpop, he hustled his way toward the directed path to the deck. He stepped in, and a tired but happy smile split his face at the familiar sight of his brother towering over several of the new arrivals.

"SAM!" He yelled to get his attention as he hurried toward him. Interestingly enough, the amulet was back bouncing against his plantsuit.

Growling to himself, Kang muttered a few curses. He hadn't wanted those damn tentacles to touch him, and had received some sort of violation for clawing at them when they'd come at him from nowhere. He'd managed to avoid getting the plantsuit put on him, and even though he didn't care about nudity, he'd been glad to see that his leather kilt and breastplate had been provided, as well as his battle-axe, a dagger, and his gold chain. The axe was a reassuring weight against his back, even if he couldn't use it anymore.

At first, and even second glance, there was no sign of any other draconians, or even any humans he might know. His height gave him an advantage, letting him see above most of the people's heads.

Rei couldn't help but stare at the huge, dragon-like creature he had spotted. It wasn't like any dragon he knew, but, then again, he only knew three. Still, it was a dragon.

"Um, hi," he said hesitantly, approaching the creature.

"Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention, please?" Kirk stood at the front of the room, hands on his hips, "I know that all of you are very confused and wondering why you're here and indeed, where here is. First of all, I'm Captain James T. Kirk, acting First Officer."

He paused, considering his next words carefully, "...I'm afraid that first off, I have to inform you that your worlds are gone - destroyed by a race known as the Ohm. You are a few of the survivors, rescued by this multi-dimensional ship - Transmigration 9, officially, which is being piloted by an AI known as Stacy. The crew - the old crew - are gone. They were trying to find a weapon to fight the Ohm with and, well, apparently they meddled with things they weren't meant to. We are the new crew. All of us are trying to survive - and the only good news I can give you is that your families and loved ones may very well still be in podsleep. We can't be sure. There are millions of people there."

He paced back and forth, "The crew aboard this ship have already survived and overcome several obstacles. We're surviving. We're thriving. We're dedicated to ensuring that we get out of this alive - all of us - and possibly, just possibly restore what we've lost. There are berths for you here. There's food. But if you're going to be a part of this society, of this crew, you're going to have to learn to work together with everyone. If we fracture, if we squabble, we may well not make it out of this alive. I won't lie-"

He smacked a fist into his palm, "-we are on a knife edge, people. The difference between certain death and our survival is us. We are the first and only line of defense for ourselves for any of our friends and family who may very well still be trapped in podsleep."

He clasped his hands behind his back, "That said, there are a few things you should know. Stacy - the AI you've already spoken to once or twice, controls the ship. Attempting to hijack the ship, to damage it, to injure fellow crewmates or attempts to access parts of the ship we're technically not authorized to, will result in violations. Accrue enough violations and you will be punished - none of us know what this is, but it's not likely to be pleasant."

He raised a hand, "We do not currently control that. We cannot and perhaps never shall. But, we are forming a crew and a government for ourselves. There is a command structure in place and plans are currently underway to form a civilian form of government to better represent the interests of the crew."

He eyed the crowd carefully, "Now. Are there are any questions?"

The creature, now quite clean and warming nicely, somehow manages to bumble its way to the Observation Deck. Crowds may not be comforting to this beastie, given how easy it leads to disorientation, but the droning lull of voices is a nice sound-guide to work with.

Just...don't kick the oddity if he runs into anyone. The Renne may have eyes but no, the Renne does not see.

Drawn to the Obs Deck by the familiar echoes of chattering drifting through the halls, Luna wanders vaguely, wide eyes examining, a vague smile fixed on her face. She pauses occasionally, interest piqued by one face or another, though she doesn't stop until her gaze falls on a... creature.

A rather alone-looking creature.

She drifts over, peering at him, intrigued.

"Hello," she says, a bit of her dottiness done away with in her interest.

Wolfwood walked into the room, slightly later, lugging his enormous cross and wound up laying it against a wall and sitting against it, his shades obscuring his eyes, puffing on a cigarette happily. He would sit and listen for a bit, and try to make sense of it all. Obviously, this wasn't Heaven. Heaven would be less veiny. And the attractive women wouldn't be clothed.

Leon was hanging around podpop, like he usually did. He was generally there just to make sure things didn't get out of hand. Waking up naked and slimy on a ship made of meat only to find out your world was gone wasn't something people generally reacted to rather well, after all.

So he mostly milled about the edge crowd and kept an eye on out for trouble. And given that he had more guns on him than most people in the room, he could handle whatever trouble there was. He was also available to answer questions.

"Hi there! Nicholas D. Wolfwood, at your service. Mind explaining to me where I am? A friend once showed me technology like this, but I have to say, nothing this advanced or... meaty."

Gray Voice craned his head as he looked around. He was calm, given the circumstances. He was vaguely aware of this, but he knew being panicked would be of no use to anybody, much less himself, not to mention unbefitting of someone of his status.

He scanned the observation deck -- he was trying very hard to find something he would recognize of being from his own world.

Someone arrives a little late, coming into the room not too far from Grey Voice. Unlike most of the other crew members, this person's clad in a full suit of green armor with a mirrored gold faceplate. He stops, taking advantage of his seven foot height to look over everyone's (or nearly everyone's) heads. He seems to be looking for something or someone.

Cissie hated being left behind, but she had decided against going with the teams. Christmas without her family was hard enough to deal with, without the thoughts that she had no one close enough to call family. Well Cassie, Kon, Bart, and Tim... but to her they had all moved on with their lives. She was just some girl, who happened to be good with a bow.

She headed out onto the Observation Desk, not really expecting anything. She was just there to see if there was anyone interesting in this pop.

This was not the most unpleasant thing which had ever happened to him or all of the men whose memories he held. But it ranked very bloody close to it. The things which wrapped him up in strange cloth hadn't done much for this place's argument that it wasn't some sort of trick of the Shadow, but whomever brought him here had furnished him with his scarf, his ashandarei, his medallion, hat, and most importantly, his knives.

Those, and the medallion, had been a trick to wear, with the clothing he'd been given, but there'd been just enough leeway to fit his knives discreetly up his sleeves, and the one nestled between shoulder blades. They would have to do until he'd gotten better clothing. The medallion he kept hidden within the folds of his scarf. So far, he'd seen nothing that spoke of Aes Sedai work, but he wouldn't put this past it.

Even if it weren't, he would have felt naked without the medallion, and he'd had his fill of nakedness today already.

He'd heard the man tell the story--and he doubted anyone in the room hadn't. Whomever he was, the man had a voice meant to carry over battlefields.

He didn't believe a word of it. Tarmon Gai'don was coming, sure as anything, but not this way. He would not weep to learn hat he averted marrying Tuon, but the world wasn't about to die just like that. That was Rand's destiny as surely as it was his to marry Tuon. More, even.

There was no swirl of colors accompanying his thought of Rand. For some reason, their absence caused him to shift uncomfortably on his feet.

If this wasn't some sort of bubble of evil or twisted reality, then what was this place?

Bubbles of evil? Possibly. At least there was no ruttin' Alliance that the red head that was moving through the crowed was going to have to keep an eye out for. Okay so Wedge was Alliance, but in a different aspect, but still someone she was going to tease relentlessly about it. Blowing out a held breath through her lips the other soldier carefully planted her back against the nearest object that she could lean against. Even the space of 'sleep' she had gotten in that pod wasn't going to catch her up with what she needed and without having adrenaline to run on she was going to crash and burn soon.

Glancing sidelong at the possible other new arrival one brow quirked up as she tilted her head up, and up, and up as she studied the rather large and pointy weapon that the man was sporting. It was shiny- that sort of shiny of a new trinket catching a magpie's attention. "You new too?"

Given the nature of his arrival, Kazami figured that he would be excused if he had a screaming fit right about now. But he wasn't, his life up to this point had proven that men who scream and run usually get killed by monsters of one kind or another.

Besides, he had to stay calm in order to keep Kala calm. Or so he told himself.

He stands at the edge of the crowd, with his arms crossed, listening as Kirk talked about their mission and situation. Then he listens to the people asking, demanding answers with a frown. "I don't think he's lying," he mutters. "But this doesn't feel like the whole truth." It can't be right, after all. He'd know if his universe were dead, if the other Riders were destroyed... Wouldn't he?

After getting her quick answer from Kirk, Rein sat down on her bag next to Kazami, drinking in the shouted answers. She too was in a thinking mood after Wolfwood and her conversation lead to a fruitless but informative search.

Catching what he mutters, she sighed. "It never is. Secrets on secrets, desu. But in the end, who gets to tell the tale?"

Yes, the Desu Machine was a little melancholy at the moment.

Everything. Gone. She didn't want to believe it. She really didn't want to. Everyone she knew, everyone she loved, ripped away from her. She was probably alone again.

Although he's a bit more relaxed now, Lyle isn't in a very talkative mood at the moment. As he wanders the outskirts of the group, he spots a girl who seems devastated. He can't really ignore that.

Lyle sits just by her, so quietly it's easy to miss. He says nothing for a moment, just judging whether or not she seems to want him to leave. When he does speak, it's softly and almost as though he's not speaking to her.

"It's a lot to deal with, but you're not alone. All these people are in the same boat as you, and we're all on your side."

Blin sighed as he walked into the room, and saw just how many people were alive here, and not creepy pod people. Well, that wasn't quite true.. they could still be pop people. could pop people mimic someone's energy signature?

Moot point; they were there, that's what mattered. They were everywhere, which meant he'd have to talk to some of them at some point. And maybe he'd find one of them who could give him some damn smokes.

He pushed his sunglasses up further on his nose (for something found in that weird storage locker, he hoped they looked good. Just because he was blind didn't mean he had no style. Theoretically.), pulled the brim of his at down a small bit, and adjusted the strap of his guitar on his back. If there was one thing he was glad that came with him, it was Ria. He'd need some soothing ballads at some point here, he was sure of it.

Two things; the collapsible staff Ronin had given him some years ago was another comfort in an area where so many things glowed so very... oddly.

Rein sat on her bed in the bag, thinking of what she had learned. Everyone was disoriented and confused, the senior staff was mostly down on Earth, and to top things all off, Vivio was here but from four years into the future. How crazy could it get?

With a sigh, she flopped back on her bed, listening to the chatter around her. She was tempted to shut the case and just sleep, but something about this whole incident felt surreal to her. She was ready to just grumble and raid her stash of chocolate -- IF it was in there at the moment. With most of her clothing vanished, it was going to be one of those missions.

"I wish Hayate was here desu," sighed Rein as she stared up into the pulsing ceiling.

Kala tucked herself near Rein's bag--just in case--her knees to her chest. While her armor shone in the ambient light of the observation deck and made her look a little braver than she felt, she was still apprehensive and downright frightened. She was also ashamed to admit that. She heard Rein's voice and gnawed on her bottom lip for a moment.

"...I wish she was, too," Kala said after a moment. "She could probably handle all of this pretty well and...well. Maybe she'll be here, still. There's a chance, right?"

The Chief's hunting for other crew members, it's awfully quiet. Too quiet. He got stolen by GLaDOS before the mission began and doesn't know about it, so stumbling across a group of new crew members?

He moves back to the edge of the room, looking for anyone he recognizes first and trying to gauge how long he was gone.

Too late. Far, far too late as the small five feet two wunderkind spotted the gigantic armored man and moved towards him, a slow grin creeping up on her face. This..that suit reminded her of what she had made for the Black Hole Soldiers but even more modern.

She had to see it! She had to look at it! She had to try to find a way to reverse engineer it!

She just stood silently looking at him with interest.

Nova had found her entire Ghost suit. Plus a full compliment of her weapons. Wonderful. As it was though, the plantsuit wasn't too bad. It was warm, comfortable, hugged her curves nicely, and best of all, wasn't gooey in any way, so she'd left her weapons, making a note of where they were stored, and after organizing them for easier reach. Though the pulsing was slightly strange. She had her energy pistols strapped to her thighs, but other than that, wasn't armed. The only reason she was here was to find some answers.

As it was, she was a latecomer and missed most of the meeting. But she was still going to get answers. Leaning against a table in the middle of the floor, she crossed her arms under her chest and spoke up.

"So, anyone gonna give a girl some idea as to why she's been abducted by a giant snot-monster space-ship. Aside from the obvious 'great purpose.'"

"Well, my dear, this ship is something of an ark," an old man says, slipping out of the crowd beside Nova with the kind of effortless grace that's so smooth it might be missed entirely. "At least, that's the story we've been given. According to it, the worlds we came from were destroyed by a species waging war on universes themselves, but with the vagaries of time travel, that might be reversible at some point."

Cassie was one of the crew who hadn't gone on the mission, which was fine with her. She needed time to calm down after the revelation of why they were here. Unfortunately, she wasn't going to get it.

Cassie scanned the crowd, looking for anyone she knew, but especially for her father.

She hadn't yet spotted the Scarlet Witch but it was only a matter of time.

"Yo, you haven't seen a cat around here. Orange, possibly evil, capable of bouncing more than a Superball? Need to make sure he's not getting into too much trouble."

Above the din of new and confused voices, it might be difficult to notice the unseen presence currently within the room.

A rare few of the original crew might remember the presence of the Seer, but he is quite weaker than the last time he had appeared.

He was here now, silently and invisibly observing the new crew members, gauging how prepared they might be for what was to come.

A few of these newcomers might even be able to see the figure of a large, hooded man standing on the outskirts, enveloped in shadows, silently observing.

Between the entirely new environment and the multitudes of new, strange people - foreign devils, nearly every one of them, from sight alone - Mulan is in something of a sensory overload, trying to get a lock on every little thing that might be useful to know.

The plantsuit will not let her pass for a boy, unfortunately, but Mulan has already seen enough to notice that women asking questions here ARE, in fact, getting answers - strange behavior, but these are foreign devils, and nothing normal can be expected of them.

So when she notices the man in the hood, she stares him down for a few moments before approaching, compensating for her obvious femininity with the confidence expected of a soldier.

"Civilian, you are very quiet."
