Time for the 'meat' and greet

[NOTE: This takes place DURING the holiday plot. If your character is involved in that, then they're still on the surface and not on the ship at this time.]

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. The mission is still going on, so if your character is offship, they won't be around for this.]

...this woman was reminding him of a kender, somewhat. Holding back a snort, he nodded, "I was a soldier for most of my life, yes."

Correct, as always. Lash hated to be wrong, anyway. "Same here. Born and raised for war since I could walk. I've seen my share of things, but I have to admit someone like you is pretty new. The biggest non-human thing we had was Jugger and he was just a robot. You don't seem animatronic at all." Realizing she might have lost him, she quickly added. "They...have computers in your world, right?"
governorkang: (Having fun)

"Now that sounds familiar, born and raised for war," Kang smiled wryly. "And I'm afraid I don't know what robots or... computers are."

She could certainly respect a fellow humanoid despite the fact they looked like a mutated lizard if he knew about war as well. Too bad he seemed to come from a more primitive planet from hers, he sounded interesting.

"You're going to enjoy this place then," she grinned. "I haven't seen much yet, but they seem to have lots of electronics around. If you don't know about that technology, you'll learn of it real quick."
governorkang: (Neutral)

Just... don't call him a lizard. Draconians really don't like it.

Kang quirked an eyebrow ridge, "I think I'd enjoy it more if I'd come here willingly. And, if there was anyone from my world." He paused. "I haven't gotten your name yet, ma'am. I am Kang."

She might have to learn that the hard way, unfortunately. Lash's manners weren't exactly the most promising.

"Yeah I haven't seen anyone from mine either," she replied, although she honestly didn't care at all. She puff up at the request for her name. "Name's Lash." Simple, small, effective. Just like Black Hole liked them. "Ex-Commanding Officer of Black Hole and Orange Star. Kang isn't a bad name either!"

"Former commander of the First Dragonarmy Engineering Regiment, and now the Lord-Governor of the nation of Teyr," Kang held out his scar-covered hand. "Well met, Lash." This woman was very odd, but he'd encountered stranger.

Mostly on this very ship.

Lash wasn't sure if he was expecting a handshake, but she took his hand and gave it a firm one, or at least as firm as someone her size and frame could manage.

"Nice meeting you Kang. Guess we'll be stuck here for a while."
governorkang: (What / This is stupid)

[personal profile] governorkang 2010-01-06 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Kang nodded, returning the handshake the best he could and smiling wryly, "Looks like it. Hopefully not for too long."

She simply grinned. "I'm going to make the most out of it."

So much new technology, she was both overjoyed and terrified at the same time. It was a good feeling.
