Time for the 'meat' and greet

[NOTE: This takes place DURING the holiday plot. If your character is involved in that, then they're still on the surface and not on the ship at this time.]

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. The mission is still going on, so if your character is offship, they won't be around for this.]

"Well met," smiled Rein with a little nod. "That's no good, not seeing people you know so far. But do you care for some company then while we get to know other people? I'm fairly curious to how everyone is doing right now. Call it a personality thing."

Kang had to admit, having someone to talk to, even if he'd just met her, made him feel better. "Company is always appreciated. We're both stuck in the same situation, after all."

Rein nodded as she floated up to eye height and settled to hover next to his snout. "I'm curious. What is the name of your race desu? I haven't encountered one of your kind yet. If you don't mind my asking desu."

"I am a draconian," Kang answered, fighting down an urge to move his snout away from her. He wasn't used to having others, except for his mate and children, so close. "And yours? You look human... but I've never seen one so small before."

Why did she keep saying desu?

"Ah, I'm a Unison Device, desu. I was created to help Hayate manage her spells. She's not too good at multi-tasking." Smiled Rein. "I can get a little bigger, but it's fairly taxing for me to maintain the form for too long at my age."

Kang nodded, even though he wasn't quite sure what a Unison Device was. "So you were created by magic, then?"

"Uh huh!" exclaimed Rein. "I administrate the Book of Darkness which is Hayate's device. She has powerful magic, but I need to help keep it together during combat. I can cast various spells too."

"I see. That's one thing we have in common, being created by magic," one corner of Kang's mouth went up in a smile. "What types of spells?"

"Primarily of the ice variant," explained Rein, summoning her book and flipping it open. "But I know several person-unique spells from when the Book was being completed. It was a rough patch in Hayate's history but we persevered and I was born from when the first Reinforce was gone."

Kang nodded, understanding most of what Rein was saying. "Rein. Is that short for Reinforcement? And what is the Book?"

"Reinforce yes," nodded Rein with a little smile. "My full name is Reinforce Zwei, which means I'm the second."

"The Book is, well, was a dangerous Lost Logia, that consumed people's linker cores, the source of their magic in order to complete it. It was draining Hayate's life away so the Wolkinritter, the group I am with now, sought to complete it. My first incarnation Reinforce was the device in charge of the vast magical powers of the book." Explained Rein, making large gestures along with her explanations.
