Time for the 'meat' and greet

[NOTE: This takes place DURING the holiday plot. If your character is involved in that, then they're still on the surface and not on the ship at this time.]

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. The mission is still going on, so if your character is offship, they won't be around for this.]

Kaylee had just started thinking things were going to calm down a bit, and here was some guy speeding up to her faster than Jayne went for hookers. She blinked, not sure where he'd even come from.

That certainly wasn't helping the nerves. What kind of people were on this ship, anyhow? "'M Kaylee."

"That's a nice name! Where are you from? Are there superheroes there? I'm a superhero. I know where everything is, by the way, so if you want to find something, just ask me!" Bart was talking slow enough to be understandable, but only barely. He also wasn't really staying still, ever. His eyes and limbs kept moving, almost too fast to see, giving him the impression of being about to run off every second. Which was a pretty accurate impression. Bart was easily bored.

Kaylee really didn't know where to start with this conversation, and she ended up blurting the first thing she made sense of in a short, unbelieving, "Superheroes?" Talk about walking into a work of fiction. If only her folks had been here to hear this one! Wash probably would've gotten a pretty big kick out of it, too. "No, no superheroes that I've seen. You'd be the first!" Maybe that'd impress him enough to slow down a bit for her to catch up.

"Really? Kewl! There are a bunch of us here! All of my friends! It's pretty great." He beamed. Slowing down? Not likely. "What's your world like?"

A whole group of superheroes? With actual powers? She really had walked into a storybook. "Well, it's a group of worlds, really," she started, probably too slowly for him. "People all live on different planets through the 'verse. 'M a mechanic for a transport ship that moves 'tween 'em."
