Following you awakening and talking with a few of the members through the communication systems by way of the three kind people who had awakened her, Nezaitben realized how the crew was stuck in a terrible mess.

So many of them felt sad and depressed. Considering the entire ship, it wasn't too hard to see why. The next day, there had been an unusual amount of magical flowers spreading all over the ship. Nothing that damaged the controls (she might be naive in the way humanoids were, but Nezaitben was no fool either) but they were found in the most unexpected of places. Her own awakening area was now blooming in a flower paradise, the wooden palace standing proudly on top, the smell and pink cherry blossom strong enough to carry through most of the central city area where most people resided.

Yet the ship was still sad.

This would not do.

That night, or what passed as a night for in the ship, Nezaitben took to the 'sky', letting pieces of her own essence fall on top of the sleeping populace, or those that were not sleeping finding themselves feeling the need too. Enveloping the ship into a peaceful slumber, she searched their dreams. The powers granted to her by the pantheon of gods in her homeworld allowed Nezaitben to weave a series of dreamcatchers giving her the ability to see those whose hearts connected true.

These noble souls would do. Lead by example had always been her philosophy. She would give them a great gift - communication with each other in a single body, allowing them to share everything together. Their two soulcatchers were woven together that night into a single, grand ones, hanging in the garden's trees.

A few minutes later, the empty husks of the bodies that weren't being used showed up at her palace. With a smile, she welcomed them like her own children and began to dress them for their task.

That morning, some of the crewmen would wake up to a strange surprise...and that would just be the beginning of a long, strange misunderstanding and young gods trying too much to please everyone.

[OOC - Just a few rules. Keep in mind the listed rules. You can all start your own threads of waking up in the bodies of others. If you feel like leaving a 2nd post for other people to intact with them, start a reply to your own first post with OPEN header. That way everyone else will know where to post and if you don't feel like having an open interaction post right away, you won't have to!

There will also be another post for all the soulless characters to go around spreading joy and love, so look forward to that too!]

30th-Oct-2011 06:24 pm - Stampede!
Thanks to Transmigration 9's crew, Geartopia was fairing much better than a few days ago. The Mayoress having support of her townsmen in near full now thanks to what they had uncovered allowed for most people to go hide into the farms on this day, while everyone else prepared their guns, polished their boots and readied their steam-powered weapons and horses. The air today was dry, with not a cloud in sight. Another typical arid desert afternoon.

Tumbleweed passed by in the city, undaunted by such crazy theatrics that were about to play out.

What they didn't quite expect nor grasp was Snidley's entire plan. They knew of the planned attack. They just didn't know how much he didn't care even for his own men planted there.

First came and earthquake. Or rather, what felt like one. If they looked up at the mountains surrounding the towns, they might notice, slowly, more and more red dots appearing and running down and down towards the city. Shepofalant were, by trade, a very peaceful animals, so much so that most of them had been allowed to stay in gigantic herds of ten of thousands. It made hunting for their meat and clothing that much easier, considering how they could survive practically anywhere.

However, when one allows such things to happen, the consequences can be deadly, if used by the right people with twisted minds.

"Stampede!" Someone yelled out, breaking the silence as they watched.

The townsmen moved frantically, trying to get everyone out of the way. They expected men with guns, not this first wall of frantic, bleating creatures who aren't sure where they are going, just away from what scared them off. Everything stands to be run down by their hooves, buildings, crops...people. There is simply too many animals to shoot everything down without causing the entire ecosystem to crash.

"The farms! We have to go to the farms! Most of the children and the elderly have been kept there!"

[OOC - OKay here's how it's going down. During this phase, there will be giant creatures descending in mass, that should, perhaps, remind you a bit of this scene from the Lion King. Feel free to NPC some goons running around during the chaos trying to attack your characters, making NPC helpless people situations for other characters to rescue, and helping out people using the meat_mooks account! Helpless kids nearly about to be run over, people standing on top of buildings, robots turned to scrap metal for your characters to play their big rescuing heroes on, its all good!

People getting kidnapped (Cazali, Jamie, Kalyee, Punchy), please start your own threads and I will NPC some goons taking you away.]

23rd-Oct-2011 12:54 am - Tavern log. Yep.
Most of the recently-awakened people had probably heard of the Drunken Dragon tavern within a few days of getting accustomed to the ship. Some had already visited it, and a few had probably even become regulars already.

As usual, the door was open, and Kang and his helpers were there, refilling drinks and being sociable.

The stage was free for anyone that wanted to share a story, sing a song, or play an instrument, and it was more than welcomed, for what's a tavern without some form of entertainment?

[OOC: If your character wants to speak to a tavern person in particular (Kang, Kaylee, Nima or Kali), just make a note of it in your tag. Threads here can pretty much cover any time from the most recent podpop to just after Happy Happy Fun World; backtagging is our friend in T9. :D

Newbies, please make sure to read the tavern link! It's got all the info on the setting, available drinks, etc.]

Simon Tam was utterly, completely, and irrevocably lost.

It wasn't as if the day started out any differently than all of the others - breakfast with the crew, arguing with Jayne, trying to talk Mal out of some job that he wanted to use River as bait for, trying to tell Kaylee why it was a bad idea in the first place, and then finally ending up in the cargo bay as Inara tried to play mediator. But after that? He couldn't quite figure out what happened. He remembered something green and strangely organic... humidity pressing in on him from all sides... then darkness again...

And now he was standing in a hall (was it pulsing?), with no idea how he got there, where anyone was, and absolutely no idea which direction to go in.

"Tain xiode... I've got to be dreaming."

That was a perfect explanation. Completely logical, of course.

Work and sleep. It’s a good system (or so she thinks) that Kaylee has come up with over the last few weeks. Work a hell of a lot, visit her crew occasionally between jobs, sleep, and repeat. It gives her plenty to think about. More importantly, it keeps her from thinking about the contents of her left coverall pocket.

He had been planning to propose. And she’d just broken things off. Screwed things up again. It’s almost funny, she thinks, how the ‘verse works like that. It’s not a sign she shouldn’t keep trying, and she knows that. Hope isn’t lost, not in the long run. But right now?

Right now she just needs to lose herself in work a bit more and not think about that ring. She has Steve to train, Jamie to train, a whole department to supervise and teach. Plain and simple as that. There’s no use in bringing personal problems into work. She just has to keep on as she is, and someday things will be alright again. They have to be.
1st-Jul-2011 12:04 am - Meat n' Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

Morning (maybe it was morning, who really knew any more) found Kaylee tucked quietly away in her hammock in Serenity’s engine room. It was easier to think here, in her own little corner of the world. She found focus alongside the ship’s engine, and that was what she really needed right now. Focus.

There was a lot to think about. Old memories, plans, feelings. There were new memories now, too, that only served to amplify the old. Forgetting Early for that short time hadn’t been so bad, and even now she wished it was a moment that had stayed gone, but losing her memories of her ship... It hadn’t been troubling at the time, of course it hadn’t. Now, though, thinking about it? About how worried people had been, and the sheer amount of time she had lost to something so small as a clock chime. This was definitely a Stacy Event that Kaylee never wanted to revisit.

She had spent days thinking about it, hours wasted in trying to sort things out while she hid in that hammock, and decisions had to be made. There were feelings and memories now, so fresh in her mind, that she had to make a decision, had to sort things out now before they got too sticky and complicated later. It tore her apart to make them, but with rocks in her stomach and her heart in her throat Kaylee pushed herself out of the hammock, out of Serenity, down to the city.

This was not going to go over well.
It had come to her just a few days after returning to normal. Why not have a beach party? ...Well alright, her first thought had been 'why not have a war party' but then she wisely realized that not everyone would enjoy something like that. But everyone had enjoyed the time they had spent on the beach a year ago! ...At least until the Ohm came and ruined everything, but it still had been fun!

But her? Organizing a party? On a beach of all places? It would take research. Books. A lots and lots of books. A few days in between all her other usual routines and activities, the wunderkind was unusually quiet, her head stuck in between pages and taking down notes. After reading and thinking herself good enough (of course she was! She was the wunderkind, right?), Lash had finally gone into the Sensoriums and prepared.

The beach itself came from a mishmash of ones she had read up on along with her single experience a year and a half ago. The sand was warm, free of any debris a normal beach might have had and colored pearly white. Seashells dotted the shore, in intervals so that it wouldn't be too annoying to go into the water, some comically large but how could you argue with someone who didn't know about this? The water was clear, slowly fading from view as it got more and more blue reflecting the cloudless sky. A few schools of colorful fish could be easily seen, moving away whenever someone got too close to them.

The sun was warm, but not overly so. Humidity was at a comfortable level. Dreamlike perfect weather. If you looked really closely, you might notice that the sun itself changed from orange to yellow to red once in a while, giving the beach a subtle tint.

Parasols of all shapes and colors dotted the sandy landscape, nestled between palm trees of various sizes and large tropical flowers and a single human-sized large Venus Flytrap. A few hammocks were also strewn between two tree trunks, for those that desired a prolonged rest. There was also a volleyball court in the shade.

Lash had taken a few trips to get as much food slop as she could carry, and had turned it all into typical beach food (at least what the books had explained to her anyway). Hot dogs, hamburgers, tropical fruits, seafoods of all kinds and, curiously, large bowls of chocolate pudding were presented on...well, bare-bones picnic tables with no decoration whatsoever. She wasn't one to make things pretty. Another note stuck nearby told visitors to create more food if they didn't find anything they liked. Next to all of that, a large wheelbarrow filled to the brim with a sweets of all kinds for no real reason (watch out not to eat too many of the poprocks!)

The next few tables held all the alcohol and juice bottles. Lash, again, had been getting reference from the library's liquor books, trying to pamper to everyone's personal likes. However if you looked closely some of the bottles had unusual names on them; "I guess this is supposed to be vodka? What's vodka?" and "Green stuff! I don't know what it's supposed to be but, it looked cool, tee hee." Empty coconuts shells with rows upon rows of miniature umbrellas acted as drink holders. However if you wanted to use a cocktail shaker or other specialty tools to get all fancy, you'd need to create one yourself, Lash didn't know about them and therefore hadn't herself. Large buckets of ice stood nestled in larger blocks of frozen liquid nitrogen (hey...it was Lash, after all).

A robot band played close by to the food, each sporting a small name tag 'HI MY NAME IS ___', filled out with ones she had found in various music media (Bill, Ted, David, Nigel and Derek) sporting a fine selection of wigs that might remind people of the original musicians themselves. It was possible request a song, if you were able to think of it. Currently, they were playing something that sounded good to Lash's ears. But then when no one was asking anything, they'd play something with a little bit of more of party time.

This almost looked like a typical beach!

...until you noticed the two giant pirate ships in the middle of the ocean, and the giant sand castle farther away from the main beach area. Oh.Of course. Both had everything true pirates could ask for, even working cannons, treasures, hats and weapons. Yeap, that sounded a lot more like Lash's style. Look, she just really needed excitement in everything.

When everything was done, she put on her best swimsuit (and shades) before sending out a message to everyone (well the girls in particular) but didn't bother locking it to just them. After all, what was the fun if the boys didn't show up? Either way, it was going to be fun.

[[OOC - Feel free to jump into each other's conversations if you like or start new threads with an activity like 'so and so serves drinks', 'pirate ship battle' or 'this guy marches into the sensoriums with his speedo' etc. Have fun!]]

25th-May-2011 10:23 pm - Best Sleepover Ever
A good number of those affected by the clock had reached childhood, and required supervision. Several of the adults had offered to help, and no one was quite sure anymore who had first suggested it, but it was decided that one night, there should be a sleepover, something fun for the children. The idea had grown; Eva had offered Cassie's house, after getting permission from the other non-deaged resident, Aximili.

In the end, it turned out to be a packed house. There were about twenty children running around, and thankfully, there were five adults and two teenagers supervising. Luckily for Eva, she had made sure to childproof the house the best she could beforehand.

It was going to be needed.

[Planning post is here. HAVE AT. A description of Cassie's house is here, and if you have any questions about it, you can ask Lisa (Eva), Blue (Marco), Cait (Rachel) and Kaylin (Ax). Start up subthreads for stuff, and try not to wreck the place. :D; ]

Kaylee stood, confused as can be, and stared through the door of one of Serenity’s guest rooms. Last she had remembered, the room had been empty, lodger-free. Now, it seemed as if someone had at the very least been storing things in there. She was positive she would have remembered someone living in her ship, but at the same time she very much doubted that Jayne was about to try and squeeze himself into one of those snazzy dress shirts.

What she would actually get back from the transmission sent over the omnicoms was uncertain, but for now Kaylee took a step back out of what the rest of Serenity’s crew would recognize as half of the Tam quarters. Maybe Jayne had beat up some poor guy on Stacy and taken his stuff and then...organized it quite nicely.

...yeah, Kaylee didn’t believe it for a second either.

Rubbing the back of her neck, a slightly confused mechanic made her way back towards the infirmary. There was a headache coming on, and she needed to be prepared.

[[ Closed to Serenity crewmembers, Jamie McCrimmon, and anyone who pm's me first to ask for permission because lol time constraints. ]]
Wash had been waiting to get back into real space for a long time - last time he'd been stuck on the ship by the General's orders, so this time he'd spent a couple hours convincing her that it was tactically more advantageous to have Serenity on the planet's surface.

He ran his hand over the console and then began the startup, flipping the switches in the order he knew by heart. Light bathed the inside of the cockpit and Wash grinned, settling his hands on the controls.

Wash reached up to grab the comm and his smile only got bigger at how familiar it felt in his hand. "You ready down there, Kaylee?"

As soon as he felt the rumble of Serenity's engine turn over, they would be out of this hangar and flying again.

The way things kept going with frequent visitors, and how their little family was increasing all the time now... Well the place was just getting too small. So Dean had started working on expanding out some rooms. He went over some plans with Xander recently. (Following a stern talking to about his brother, and how weird the idea of having a possible brother in law now was to all parties. A few threats were made and noted before he finally tabled the topic for the time being.)

The sound of hammering could easily be heard in their part of the city. Furthermore, between the humid temperature of the ship, and exertion from the construction project, Dean was now working shirtless with jeans and boots.

It’s been a long morning of work on Serenity already. With her time split between Engineering and the Tavern, there hasn’t been much time recently for Kaylee to actually work on her own ship, and the poor old girl is looking (and probably feeling, by the sound of her creaks and groans) a bit neglected as of late. Kang understood perfectly well--he had to, with the way he worked on that tavern all the time--and gave her the time off she felt she needed to put a bit of TLC back into her baby.

The first part of her process is simple maintentance. Lines and connections are checked over, fluids are refilled or replaced, all of the lovely, normal, working-condition type things. Serenity hasn’t moved since who-knows-when, and there really isn’t all that much to fix up.

Maintenance done, Kaylee makes her way down to open the cargo bay doors in an attempt to gain some kind of breeze-like air flow. Leaning against the panel, she takes a good look around at the contents of the bay. It wouldn’t hurt to take inventory, just to see what all they have and don’t have. Unless Stacy grants them permission to fly around on their own for a while, the mechanic doesn’t imagine they’ll need too much, but it’s always nice to know exactly what all is on hand. It isn’t much of a job, but at this point she’ll take any excuse she can to stay with her ship just a little while longer.

She doesn’t right away, and when she finally picks a crate to start with her hand still lingers affectionately on the doors’ panel for a moment. It’s quick and almost unnoticeable gesture, but for anyone who has ever felt for anything, it’s recognizable as complete adoration.

With a smile, Kaylee slides the top off of the first of the crates, and takes careful note of its contents on the tablet in her hand before moving on to the next.

[[ OoC: Open to all in separate threads (unless people want to double up, and then let me know), but Eleven has dibs on first thread. After that, no order necessary :)

7th-Feb-2011 09:45 pm - The Sacred City
After the crew finished up with the Rituals of Judgement and Joining, they were permitted to enter the city proper.

Orongo was even more impressive than it appeared from outside the wall. Despite the primitive seeming architecture, the city was alive with lights and sounds and colors. The numerous stone buildings were covered in bright paints in beautiful swirling designs, each one a unique piece of art. People milled about the city in droves, many of them various examples of random alien species, though there were quite a few Moai and knee-high Rapa Nui moving about.

The priests that directed them into the city indicated to them to the Consummation Huts, where they would be spending the night, regardless of whether they chose to use them to their...eh hem...full potential, or not.

As they entered the city, each of them got the same message from Stacy.

||You will be spending the night in the city as per the Moai's instructions. Arrangements have been made to meet with the Moai Elders in the morning. For now, you are given leave to explore the city as you wish. I have transferred each of you an allowance of credits to purchase supplies or entertainment tonight.||

||Do try to have fun.||

[ooc: And they're off! Feel free to have them explore. You can also start doing open posts on-planet now, if you want. Have fun!]

7th-Feb-2011 05:31 pm - Till Death (or Liftoff) Do Us Part
Once Domalai made sure the crew was fully informed of what was expected of them in the upcoming rituals, he showed them over to where the Rituals of Judgement and Joining would be performed.

As they neared the gate that led into the city of Orongo, they could see many other people milling about, waiting for their turn to undergo the rituals themselves. The crew, of course, being a special case, are moved to the front of the line. Thankfully, everyone seems to be in a good enough mood that no one puts up a fuss about it.

The first area they were brought to had a simple stone circle, around which were three smaller circles. Two Moai priests were waiting there as they approached, and Domalai moved over to join them before speaking up.

6th-Feb-2011 01:36 pm - Welcome to Orongo
Once those who decided to go along on the mission were gathered on the Obs Deck and had time to go over the mission briefing, the detachment procedures began.

As with the missions before, the doors to the Obs Deck closed before it detached itself from Stacy, tethered by a massive umbilical cord. Those who had been on missions before would find the experience familiar if still somewhat unpleasant, but for those of whom this was their first mission, the sudden lack of gravity and lurching feeling as they entered the atmosphere would come as a surprise.

Thankfully though, the ride was quickly over as they landed safely on the planet below, the gravitational dampeners of the Obs Deck gently dropping the crew members back on their feet. One of the walls opened up, forming a ramp to the ground below. There was a sudden, slight gust of air as the door opened as the thick air rushed in. Even so, the air felt quite warm and refreshing.

Looking outside, the crew would see the bright yellow sun looming overhead, quite close in comparison to the sun on most planets. A handful of small, silver clouds dotted the blueish purple sky.

Ahead of them stood a rather impressive looking plateau, surrounded by a tall, ornate stone wall which was covered in tribal markings. Directly ahead was a large gate through the wall, with several small stone buildings in front of it. Beyond the gates, a larger settlement could be seen. Surrounding the plateau and covering the surrounding region were numerous strange, blue and purplish trees and plants.

[ooc: hold up until subthreads are set up]

Stacy's voice came over the comm, blaring across the entire ship.

||Attention, Attention. All personnel please report to the Observation Deck. Attention, Attention. All personnel please report to the Observation Deck. Attention, Attention, all personnel...||

The mouth in the main sculpture on Obs Deck opened, revealing a screen with the image of a mottled blue and purple planet, rotating slowly.

30th-Jan-2011 09:17 pm - Date Night [Closed]
Dean blew some air out through his teeth, and was pacing a little outside the Sensoriums. He fidgeted with his hands, and kept glancing down the hallways nearby. He got his tapes back, but everybody's been harping on him lately. They just didn't get it. This was his freaking job, hell, he's a member of Security, and now with Mei Xing repodded, the situation with Strike Team fell squarely into his lap. Which meant some new testing and try outs soon that he'd have to supervise. And Samus repodded which means shake ups in Security too. People just needed to back off because guess what, he's responsible. Which means he should have been more on guard about that damn Darksoul. He knew Daimon, who seemed to have things under control, but he should have remembered the lesson with Ruby. Never trust anything demon related.

Damn he really did need a break. He paced some more and hope Kaylee would show up soon.
Several days after being possessed and the Doctor’s convinced he needs to do some spring cleaning. Or at least some kind of cleaning. Probably should have done it awhile ago, come to think of it, but things kept coming up. Things do that, so he doesn’t blame them. So, spring cleaning. Needs doing, established that, good as a distraction except….There’s always an “except” in there. He’d start on the spring cleaning himself except it would be much easier if the TARDIS hadn’t decided to switch around her rooms all of a sudden. He’s not sure why. Maybe she was upset about the Darksoul.

He’s sure it wasn’t him, even possessed. He remembers being possessed. He didn’t go around rearranging the TARDIS -- he thought he had more important things on his mind at the time. Their mind. It wasn’t ever just him, he reminds himself, no matter how real it felt. Or maybe there was enough truth to be where he couldn’t tell exactly where the Darksoul’s influence ended. It wasn’t as if he hadn’t had any of those thoughts before, ever.

Right, so there’s no point sitting around. He needs to get everything sorted and maybe, just maybe, he might find something to fill in for a scanner in the process. Maybe he could find out where that Darksoul got to.

The idea of it being still loose? Big old shudder up his spine there.

The Doctor roams about Stacy in the meantime. Sometimes he stops to admire a particular globule or fleshy protrusion sticking out that he’s dying to touch (and maybe he sneaks in a little touch) but overall, he’s moving quickly since he’s on a mission, despite all the distractions. Every now and then he veers left or right and tries to net himself someone who looks like they could be a willing volunteer. It doesn’t matter to him if that someone is human or alien, female or male or none of the above: only that they’re big enough to carry things and they don’t mind a good ramble. In fact, they have plenty of time to get used to it on the trip back to the hanger, the Doctor nattering away like he’s trying to fill up silence.

“Well,” the Doctor says as they come to a stop in front of the TARDIS. It’s very blue, boxy, and maybe even a little cross with him.

He turns to his companion, “What do you think? I just need an hour of your time. Two, if you’re feeling charitable.”

[OOC: Basically the Doctor has approached your character and introduced himself before asking for help. Depending on how much he trusts them at a glance, he might either try kidnapping them for 1) helping him through boxes of junk outside the TARDIS in the hanger, 2). cleaning the inside of the TARDIS post-Darksoul, or 3). helping him map out the TARDIS with balls of twine. He most likely won’t approach evil or violent characters for this sort of task. ]

24th-Jan-2011 08:18 pm - Not so smooth sailing [Open]
After putting in two long days of work to compensate for the time he missed during the darksoul's assault, Billy was finally ready to deal with work of a more delicate matter. Emotion and the heart. And unlike most damaged objects that Billy encountered, he couldn't fix hearts and relationships with a welding torch and some elbow grease. He needed to take a more subtle approach.

While he'd slept during that time protecting Kaylee, his dreams had recalled the past. He remembered lazy afternoons in Angel Grove with his best friends, talking about anything and everything over a refreshing smoothie from the juice bar. They were some of his favorite conversations.

And with that, the beginnings of an idea started to form in his mind.

The steps were simple. Take some slop to the Sensoriums, form it into one of those beverages he remembered so fondly, and then find a nice place to serve them and talk. The juice bar was right out---too bright, too full of memories, and who was he to attempt to replace Ernie? A quiet park was a better choice. He imagined gentle green hills, the lake sparkling just beyond, and a round garden table with comfortable chairs. For a musical touch, there was a distant wind chime blowing in the breeze. Finally, the strawberry smoothie pitcher was set out, his friends were contacted, and he waited.

Billy hoped that a simple strawberry delight would be enough to bring a bit of cheer to the gloom settling around.

((ooc: The main thread's between Billy, Jamie, and Kaylee, but test subjects guests are also welcome to taste test this beverage! Taste tests will take place first chronologically, if any.))
