Time for the 'meat' and greet

[NOTE: This takes place DURING the holiday plot. If your character is involved in that, then they're still on the surface and not on the ship at this time.]

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. The mission is still going on, so if your character is offship, they won't be around for this.]

"Uh-huh," he nodded, "You...don't want to take it away?"

But then Gray Voice reached into his pocket and spoke sympathetically— and that was the moment Komali decided he liked Gray Voice. This bird was old an blunt and a little mean, but he actually listened when you spoke. It made him smile a little, and loosen the death-grip he had on Din's Pearl.

"You do?" he asked, almost eagerly, "What is it?"

Gray Voice leaned down so he was roughly at the same height as Komali. He then produced a small disk-shaped device that fit in his hand. He pressed a button on it and it suddenly projected a hologram of a large mural. (http://i47.tinypic.com/4t2iyh.jpg) "This is a mural from my home that is vry important to everyone who lives there." He explained. He then pointed at a specific part, and the hologram shifted slightly. It closed in on one specific corner of the mural. Upon it was a small, almost childish engraving (http://i49.tinypic.com/sngxs4.jpg).

"This is a drawing of myself, one of my brethren and..." He couldn't think of a quick way to explain the connection between himself and the girl in question, so he opted for the simplest explanation. "And my young daughter."

"Oh, she made it?" He asked, watching with eyes that were wide and shining at the hologram's newness. This was a magic unheard of on Dragonroost isle— or indeed anywhere on the great sea, for that matter. The Mail-carriers of the Rito missed no detail. Komali was on this strange new and shiny thing like shell on an egg, "She's just a little kid, like me?"

"She was when she made this." Gray said. "The last time I saw her, she was an adult. She'd journeyed to many places beyond our home and learned many things on her own."

"Why did she go away?" Oh, this is a good story, Gray Voice. You have this hatchling hanging on your every word, "Back home, nobody goes away for too long, they have to come back and get the mail."

"Because...there was a job that she had to do, that only she can do." Gray paused. "It was a very special task that we gave her. To protect people across the world who needed to be protected."

"Oh. So she was like Link," He sighed, listing to the side a hair, "Everyone says that Link is a hero. What her name?"

"Samus Aran." He said. "If by...some chance, you meet her in this place, you will be able to trust her."

A solemn nod— children were so oddly adorable when they were trying to be serious. Komali understood, or thought he did. After all, who would think that the 'daughter' of someone who looked like Gray Voice was human?
