Time for the 'meat' and greet

[NOTE: This takes place DURING the holiday plot. If your character is involved in that, then they're still on the surface and not on the ship at this time.]

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. The mission is still going on, so if your character is offship, they won't be around for this.]

It's at this moment that Worf steps up to flank Kirk and Dustin, scowling. Though really, it's his default facial expression so you shouldn't read too much into it.

"Captain Kirk is telling you the truth. Captain Picard can verify his words, as can I. I am Commander Worf."

"You can access the records we do have. You can talk with Stacy. Or you can ask the other members of this crew, like Mister Worf here," Kirk nodded at the Klingon.

If Dustin were a normal person he might've been intimidated by the red-faced creature that had just addressed him. But we can already assume that he's seen weirder things in his life.

"Oh?" Dustin retorted sarcastically, "So my options are, a) Look at records done by people as ignorant as you are about our situation, b) Talk to an obviously extremely damaged AI that could very well be corrupted and totally unusable other than to keep us breathing, or c) Listen to people who, again, have as little idea about what's really happening as those of us who just woke up in a pile of mineral sludge. You know, that makes me feel soooo much better."

"To be honest, I don't give a damn about your comfort level, mister. We're working with the tools we have. If you don't like the answers I'm giving you, then I'm afraid you're going to be very frustrated - the only one who knows more then the rest of us is Stacy and she's still repairing herself. Now, I don't like your attitude one wit - I'm giving you everything I can give you and you're demanding answers that I simply don't have."

"Well then you obviously don't have enough information to be of any use to me," Dustin challenged with a contempt sneer, "If no one else here has anything better to give me, then I guess I'll just go and figure out what the hell's going on myself!"

He turned to walk away.

"...And if you want to keep believing your silly little Mother Goose stories about a biological ship that can travel through dimensions, then more power to ya."

"I'm not here to be of use to you. I'm here to make sure that all of us make it out of this alive."

He paused, "Mister Dustin, you are, of course allowed to investigate on your own. But if you attempt to damage this ship or interfere detrimentally with the crew, I will take action against you. Believe the story or not, it's still true."

"Then why the hell did I waste my time with you?" Dustin muttered to himself.

Ignoring anything else thrown at him, he walked stiffly out of the Observation Deck.
