Atom zoomed through the sky of the City, the rocket thrusters in his boots cutting a bright blue trail through the open air. He glided under archways, skimmed a hand along the water of the River, zigzagged along streets and between abandoned buildings with dizzying speed. He found a sagging building and used a nearby fallen beam to shore it up; he came across a half-destroyed statue and carefully retrieved its missing head, placing it by the statue in case someone came along who could fix it.

When he came to a stop, it was in an immense building, with high windows, ticket counters, and darkened lights. He recognized this place! He'd been here once; it was Grand Central Terminal.

Now, however, there were no passengers milling about, waiting for their friends or family to arrive. He flew upward, perching on a nearby stone railing.

Thracia, huh...? It brought back memories. Some new, some old... and some painful.

[Takes place anywhere in the City, please specify if you want a particular location -- else it will be in Grand Central.]

Shoutarou's normal patrols around the ship today are more in-depth than usual. In fact, it's less a general patrol, and more a specific search. The detective is on the hunt for Wakka's misplaced Blitzball. So he's going everywhere. Everywhere. Everywhere he has access to, anyway. He's coming into departments and exploring, questioning anyone that doesn't look busy, and he might even knock on a few doors.

[So Shou is literally combing all of Stacy that he can to look for that darn Blitzball. Feel free to run into him where-ever you want, just specify so I can edit the tags accordingly.]

Taking some time from other projects, Celena had once more brought down her Paired Gate device down to the park in an attempt to work on a number of issues of the operation of the device while in the Bleed. After all if a stable gate could be established, even for short periods of time, it could make for quick travel about the city and about the ship in general.

Thus in her usual draconic form she had set herself before the primary end of the gate device in the middle of a large clearing in the park, with the secondary portion of the device not a hundred feet away. After some time in pondering the problem she had decided to take a break from her work. Locking the device down she stretched herself out and padded away to wander the park for a short while before taking off to stretch her wings. Keeping her general flight path around the vicinity of the park itself.

[OOC: Feel free to run into her at any point, whether while she's working on the device, wandering the park or even flying around overhead!]

2nd-Aug-2011 04:08 pm - Dearly Beloved...
The City didn't have weather as most people knew it, but it was nonetheless a beautiful day - warm weather with a nice breeze, Stacy's sun-equivalent shining in the sky... almost as if it was reflecting the emotions of at least one of the ship's crew. In the middle of the Park, someone had set up a little white lattice archway amongst the hedgerows, decorated with ivy and roses and lilies that looked remarkably real (if they were, in fact, synthetic). In front of the arch were several rows of white chairs, more than enough for anyone who cared to show up.

It was a beautiful day for a wedding.

And frankly, Nanoha needed it. After the chaos and confusion; the rage and terror on Galilee... she didn't think she could ever forget that horrible sense of loss and emptiness when she'd thought that Fate was gone, if only for a day or so. But this would go a long way toward exorcising those demons - a day that she'd dreamed of for years.

Of course, she couldn't go greet anyone yet. She was in her wedding dress, after all! These things needed to be proper.

19th-Jul-2011 09:29 pm - Animal Watching [Open]
Among the things that Cassie had learned about the ship where she now made her home was that there was a section of it that held a large number of alien animal and plant species. Although it had taken her longer then she thought it would to get there, she had finally found her way to Hydroponics, where the animals were supposed to reside. Her eyes twinkled happily and a smile played across her lips as she wandered through the area. The animals that she saw were incredible. Nothing like those that she was familiar with, but that didn't matter. They were all amazing in ways that were unique to them and that was wonderful.

She spotted a strange green creature out of the corner of her eye and spun to get a better look, but, to her disappointment, it vanished before she could see much more. Cassie moved towards the area where she had last seen it, hoping that it might still be lingering nearby or that there might be more like it still within range. She moved slowly and quietly so as not to startle any animals still nearby.

She continued on for a while longer, managing to get at least a glance of a number of other animals and in a few cases she did better then that, although she didn't know enough about them to put a name to any of them. She sighed contently as she walked, feeling more comfortable at that moment then she had since she arrived here. Even the house that she lived in on the ship, the one that resembled her home on Earth, still felt strangely foreign to her for some reason. But here... the animals and physical surroundings might be alien, but this feeling of being surrounded by so many wonderful creatures was not. She felt surprisingly comfortable here.

She might just have to come here more often.

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

30th-Jun-2011 02:17 am - No Good Dreams... [Open]
Vivio had heard about the whole clone mess earlier, but tried her best to ignore it. She couldn't bear to think of what would of happened if she had joined up with the rest of them.

Then again, she knew what would happen - her mamas would have tore the planet apart in retaliation.

Trying to get her mind off of what was going on, she figured getting some sleep would do wonders. However, the dream she had would make that impossible...

Lost in a strange complex of sorts, Vivio had met a younger Nanoha and, thanks to recent events, kept calling her "Nanoha-mama". Instead, the girl was left more than a little stunned, especially when the Vivio that Nanoha knew appeared. After discussing their oddness, Vivio had revealed everything about the Ohm and came to the realization that she and those people where she was could help. They could save the universe together!

But, it wasn't meant to be. She was told that the worlds being destroyed were part of their destiny and there was nothing they could do to save them. This was mere moments before she was sent back...

...and she woke up.

A good hour later, Vivio was wandering the City streets, parts of the dream still on her mind. The biggest one was that it was the world's destiny to be destroyed by the Ohm. But, that was a dream, right? Dreams was just silly things that happened while she slept.

If that was the case, why was she bothered by this?

(OoC: I had Vivio participate in [livejournal.com profile] planeocracy's Fourth Wall event and thanks to the rules of that game, what happened was pretty much a dream to her.)

Teyr only had two holidays. Understandable, given the fact that it was only a few years old, and draconians themselves hadn't even been around for five decades yet. They were still working on making their place in the world.

Well, they had been.

Kang was doing his best to not dwell on that thought as he walked through a recreation of one of the city's holidays. It was the Day of Hope, the anniversary of the day when his regiment had found and hatched the first females during the Summer of Chaos. The streets were packed with draconians of every type (children were very rare, and none looked older than a human two-year-old), as well as a few humans and even a dwarf or two. There were booths set up with food, alcohol, and crafts, as well as music being played; as new as draconians were, they did have many things unique just to them, and some of the more thoughtful ones used the opportunity to celebrate that fact.

There were areas that were set up for displays of athletics and martial abilities, and even a handful of booths with carnival-like games. One, run by a baaz, involved trying to launch a stuffed minotaur doll into dragon-shaped cups floating in a tub of water with a miniature catapult. The reward was a free flagon of hard cider. A kapak was profiting off of something that looked remarkably similar to a modern rope ladder game, though it was steeper and didn't have any padding on the ground.

Outside the city walls, there were several teams of draconians constructing trebuchets, each with a pile of pumpkins. The Corps of Engineers had gotten drunk the year before and decided to see who could make one that'd launch a pumpkin the highest and farthest, and all agreed that they needed to make it a yearly tradition. One of the teams was comprised solely of sivaks, and a particularly tall one, at just a few inches shy of nine feet, shouted orders.

He smiled, indulging in the memory, and sent a quick message to Eva. He didn't care if others showed up and decided to join in the celebration, but he had specifically invited her, once before.

[OOC: When I say rare, I mean like only about 100-110 children compared to at least 5,000 adults, and it's impossible to tell the sexes apart by sight unless you know what to look for. There's only 20 adult females anyways. Only sivaks can fly, and they don't really do much of that; auraks (gold scales) don't even have wings. They're also the most rare kind. Draconian heights range from 5' (baaz) to about 9' (sivaks), and the average height is about 7'.

This is a completely medieval setting, so if you're not sure about something, feel free to ask me. Also, if you are an attractive woman, you are going to get a few leers, and possibly comments from some of the draconians. Sorry, ladies. Anybody of a race that is not human, elven or dwarven is going to get some curious looks, too.

Infodump out of the way, it's open!]

Russel became very aware of several things all at once. One, that he was actually aware of something. Second, that he was on the floor of Medbay, and third was that he was only in his plantsuit. Why was he on the floor? Because he had suddenly gotten much too big for his bed, and he'd fallen out of it. Why was he suddenly so aware? Because he'd just gotten his more mature mind back.

He picked himself up off the floor, and shoved himself away from any and all offers for help from the Medical staff. He stormed out, and down the hall. He knew where he would expect to find Fletcher. Their room, or Hydroponics. Their room was the first place he'd go, it was easier to eliminate as a possibility.

So he burst in through their bedroom door. "Fletcher!" he said urgently. He knew what had happened while he was young, and that Fletcher had put on a brave face following the kidnapping. It only enraged him further that he'd been forced to go while Russel was unable to say any different, or tag along to help protect him.
5th-Jun-2011 11:57 am - Laid Up [Open to visitors]
Despite how he argued that he was fine, despite how he displayed a range of motion with his wounded shoulder (complete with pained facial expressions and one yell of agony), Medical insisted on tossing Luis in for treatment as soon as they were all back on the ship. His wound was infected and there was a process Stacy needed to go through to clean it all up and make sure it wouldn't turn gangrenous and fall off. That explanation made him a bit more cooperative.

So Luis sat on his bed in the Med Bay, laying on his side, glaring at the ceiling and extremely uncomfortable as a hose-like tentacle contraption was attached to the front and back of his shoulder, placed over the wound like a suction. Yeah. Creepy.

And he'd been caught up and around the place trying to do something productive one too many times, so there was a restraint around his ankle preventing him from standing up or even changing positions too much.

Could they at least have given him a book? This was worse than being trapped in a cave.
notlewis: (Annoyed)
After returning from Avania III, Fletcher was feeling down. He'd survived... everyone had survived... but that didn't undo the fact that he'd been tied up, trapped in a cave for three days, and almost sacrificed to some false religion. And he'd taken a life. Even if it had been in the defense of someone else, he couldn't get it out of his mind.

Now that he was back on the ship, he went back to his usual routine -- working in Hydroponics, reading up on science in the media library, eating in the mess hall, wandering through the City, and of course babysitting Russel, but it was much more forced than it had been before. Clearly, he needed someone to talk to.

(Plot Post!)

The sun was starting to sink towards the horizon as the emergency pod landed down on the surface of Orya, deep in the thicket of a jungle a few miles north of the village.

It was all unknown and uncharted territory... but if Stacy's crew ever wanted to see a good half of their doctors and scientists again, there was no other choice but to stage a rescue mission.

((PLOT POST! READ IT!))

Stacy's voice rang out through the corridors of the ship, announcing that a message had been received and would be played on the Obs Deck momentarily.

The message was patched through a few minutes later, shown on a holographic screen. It was shot in very poor video, from a very old communicator frequency.

A plea for help. )

27th-Apr-2011 08:17 am - Melting Clock: Quarantine
After Sam Henderson's announcement, the Contagion Containment and Treatment lab was going to get busy. Anyone suspected of being affected by the mysterious affliction would be brought here, and put into one of the large bubbles that would keep any potential contagious diseases in - and the patients themselves. Once in inside, they wouldn't be able to get out again until the Medical staff had cleared them.

And before they could do that, they needed to find out what was causing this - and why.

They had a lot of hard work ahead of them.

cityship: (Meanwhile...)
After a long, hard day of work in Hydroponics, Russel and Fletcher returned to their room. Fletcher was quiet as they walked; something was a little off about the way Russel had been acting since they'd ended their work for the day, but he couldn't put a finger on it. He was probably just getting re-acclimated to the ship. That was something Fletcher could understand.

Finally they arrived at their room. Fletcher opened the door and gasped. Inside there were papers scattered all over the room, sheets torn from the beds, and... there, on the floor, was that candy kaleidoscope he'd bought on XaXing, broken into two neat pieces. Sitting in the middle of it all was Jujube, looking up at the two of them and wagging his tail. He'd been asleep when they'd left, so they'd decided to let him stay behind -- a decision Fletcher had made many times before. It had never been a problem. Until today, anyway.

Shortly after returning from XaXing, Fletcher went to meet up with Sam; he'd finally figured out that that was who Jujube had been staying with while he'd been podded. The little dog was all too happy to return to his master. He still didn't particularly like vampires.

So now, Fletcher returned to his and Russel's room, puppy in tow. "Hey, Brother?" he said as he stuck his head into the room. "There's someone you need to meet."

Tucked away in a corner of the bazaar is a wee little shop, painted in bright gaudy colors meant to specifically to catch the eye of any passerby. Unlike some of the other nearby food stalls that sell more savory goods, this one seems to specialize in sweets and desserts. There are all sorts of strange looking things here to tempt one's sweet tooth, from bright pink and black cake-like rolls dusted in powered sugar, to a green jelly-like substance cut into cubes and studded with nuts, to lemon sherbets, wrapped pieces of taffy and everything in between.

Jamie stumbles across the shop completely on accident, but finds himself drawn in by the display. His attention is caught by a tray of what looks like rock candy. However, each carefully arranged piece glows ever so faintly, as if lit from within. The shop merchant, realizing that there is a potential customer here, hastily covers up a hole left by a previous purchase, blocking the small, low wattage lightbulb that is actually the source of the illumination. The Scot, his attention focused on a goodly-sized chunk of the stuff (in red, of course), is too distracted to notice.

"Hey, would ye look at that!"

What would a glowing candy taste like, he wonders? It's definitely tempting to buy some right away, but as he turns his head, he spots a display of tiny warriors made out of marzipan, and he wanders away from the glowing candy to go take a look. At this rate, he might be here some time...
