Meet N' Greet!

It's big meeting time! Word of mouth gets everyone gathered in the Obs Deck--everyone. New, old, the entire crew is there and that makes it clear that there's close to a hundred of them, if not more.

When they've all arrived, a blue bubble pops up around them, courtesy of Blue Beetle, to block them all from Stacy's sensors. Most of the new people were given the basic rundown by Cybil or Chief when they were first released. Some of them have already joined a discussion with a the Commanding Officers and department heads. Some have had a chance to explore a bit. Some were only just recently released.

Cybil goes on, "I'm Cybil Bennet, Brahm's PD. I know a lot of you have questions about our basic situation. I've explained it to some of you, but right now's the time for you to ask questions and for those of us who've been here longer to tell you what we know. It's not much, but it's a start."

Command Change

"We do have a command structure on the ship, largely because formal organization has been needed. We've had to fight for our lives before, and we've needed to split into different groups to do different things to work on getting out of here."

She takes a deep breath.

"Until now, I've been serving as Captain, as leader of this group, with others helping to share the workload. As of this point in time, we now have several actual starship captains, used to situations like these, that are willing to step up and lead. Provided the crew is comfortable with it, I would like to hand over leadership to one of them, a Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Obviously, I want to make this transition a natural one, and give him a chance to earn your trust, but I think it would be best for all of us if someone used to this, and used to uniting a group like ours together for survival were to take charge."

A deep breath.

"But first I want your thoughts. I believe you have a right to choose whose hands you ultimately place your lives in. My problem is that I don't think I'm the one best suited for it."

Kirk steps forward and gives a nod and a smile to the assembled crew, "Greetings. I'm Captain James T. Kirk, of the Starship Enterprise. If you decide to accept the command change, I'll be serving as Captain Picard's first officer. I know this is a tough situation, and that all of us just want to get home. Well, I'm going to do my best to see that that happens."

Atton shrugs and gives everyone a languid wave, "Heya. Atton Rand. I can pilot a ship and I'm a decent shot with a blaster. I'm also a damn good pilot and good with computers."

There was a lot of finery that always went into a meeting like this. Mal sat quietly, arms crossed, watching everyone about him as they spoke their introductions. By counts there was a good number of people there who had been there longer. He hoped someone had a little more information about the place that could be given like this.. in a bubble.

When it came his turn the browncoated man stood, clearing his throat. "My name is Malcolm Reynolds, Captain of the Firefly named Serenity. Former Browncoat with the 57th Overlanders. I'm a business man and ain't afraid to get a job done even if th' odd ain't just right."

Color him confused. Sawyer scratches his head as he scowls at Mal. "You're the captain...of a bug..."

And now for something completely different. We shall call it 'sarcasm.'

"Well, gosh, golly, gee, ain't that impressive. I almost peed myself."

When it was her turn, Six stood quietly.

"My name is Caprica," the woman spoke smoothly watching the humans around her. "I am well versed with computers and machines. Firearms and personal defense styles are not unfamiliar to me."

No need to tell them what she was quiet yet. That could come at a later time when everyone was settled into their new lives and roles on this ship.

Sam, who is leaning on his cane a few feet from where Six is standing, extends his hand to the tall blond. As cliche as it sounds, there is something definitely familiar about her, but he can't put his finger on it. Although he'd probably like to.

"Hi, I'm Sam," he says with a crooked smile. "And this is my brother, Dean."

He nodded in the direction of his brother.

Tony waits, arms folded. After letting a few others get their shot in he finally coughs and stands up, speaking with a Hispanic accent. He's scruffy-looking, but fairly clean, thanks to Stacy. His trusty backpack full of Stuff, Junk, and Things is kept protectively next to him.

"Heya. M'Antonio Jaurez, but you guys can just call me Tony. Everyone else does. Uh... not much to tell 'bout me, 'cept that I grew up on the streets and I can fight OK. Like talkin' better, though. I can hotwire a car, an' do oddjobs... uh... yeah! Hope that I can help out somehow. Do m'best, really."

He offers a friendly grin and then settles back. He's leaving out a few things and not outright lying. More like omitting certain parts of the truth.

"Soo... a werewolf huh? You know, I would have been cool about you saying so earlier?"

The jet-black-skinned woman isn't wearing one of the ship's plant suits—instead, she's scavenged a red silk drape and turned it into something halfway between a toga and a sari.

"I'm Special Agent Seeley Booth, FBI." says Booth. "This is my partner. Work partner." He turns his head toward Brennan, allowing her to say her own intro. He knows better than to try speaking for her, she'll only yell at him if he does.

Realizing a hawk seemed to be talking, Elle couldn't really help staring. Noticing its bizarre companions only amplified the strange, dreamlike feeling she'd had since arriving on this thing. A little dizzy, Elle felt the need to point out the obvious.

"...You're a bird."

The other two creatures (Centaurs? No, far too freakish!) certainly stuck out more, but they could be explained. She knew they were in space, so they obviously must be aliens. But... What the hell was a bird doing here? A talking bird? Were there talking birds in space?

Snorting, she adds "What do you do? Peck people?"

The teenager in question sounds a bit weird, not to mention looking quite metallic. He's also wearing a strange uniform in place of the usual podsuits.

"[I am a super hero based out of New York City on the planet Earth in the twenty-first century. My body is comprised of a neurokinetic suit of armor from the thirty-first century; and my powers include a degree of super-strength, density manipulation, flight, laser blasts, computer interfacing, holographic manipulation, and limited shape shifting.]"

Also time-travel, but he had a feeling that it wouldn't be useful on board this ship.

"I'm uh," God this was weird. There were people here she'd seen on TV since she was a kid. She'd dealt with crazy things before but fictional people turning out to be real?

This must be what going mad feels like.

"I'm Stature. Or you can call me Cassie Lang. I guess secret identities don't matter here. I can grow or shrink at will and I'm not bad at karate and messing around with electronics. And it's ah uh, real honor to meet some of you." She blushed at that last part, looking around at the people from Star Trek- er- the world where Star Trek was real.

"I am Shinichi Izumi" Back home, he would have introduced himself slightly differently, in the typical Japanese style, but he did not know if it would be clear enough here, so he opted for the English way. "Call me Migi" came another voice. He didn't have the hand terribly distorted at the moment, but his eye was peering up at the others. It still felt a bit wierd not hiding here, but there was really no way to. He'd be seen whether they tried to hid him or not.

Temperance Brennan sat off to the side, just watching as everyone else that was gathered as they introduced themselves and bickered amongst each other.

She shook her head and looked over at Booth before taking a deep breath. This had to be most peculiar gathering of.... people (could they even be called people?!) she had ever seen in her life.

"I'm Doctor Temperance Brennan. I'm a Forensic Anthropologist with the Jeffersonian and I work a lot with the FBI."

She has nothing to say about Captain Picard taking commmand. She doesn't even know who he is, his name was familiar, but that was about it.

"That's a mouthful if I've ever heard one," Dean says, glancing over at Brennan. As usual, Dean is thinking with his downstairs brain, so his initial thought is 'Hey, she's not half-bad looking,' but then Booth speaks up, and his attention had wandered. He figured the guy lowered any of his chances.

Well, and not to mention, the chick looked like she was the kind of woman who wouldn't get a joke if it punched her in the face.

She slowly seems to be calming down, but her pride's taken a blow.

"I'm told there is a need for doctors so totally glad to help with that but please don't let the medical degree overshadow the years of specialized training in how to kill people. I prefer keeping people alive, obviously, but I could hardly be considered rusty in a fight if the need arises."

Dark Smoke Puncher had been acting as a ninja should in an unknown situation. By, of course, going around undetected. Well, except for that feeling of SOMETHING watching him. Probably that voice that spoke in his head and someone might have felt a breeze as he retrieved his stuff, but that was it.

Seeing his older brother, though, was only half a surprise.

"Yo, this is a set up by mom and dad, fer shizzle?" Dark Smoke Puncher asked, appearing behind McNinja. Though he probably didn't get a chance to surprise him, he still had to try.

You can try, Spider-Man, anyone can try but the only way they're getting out is knocking a 16-year-old boy unconsciousness.

"Nobody is leaving the bubble in a hissy fit because people don't agree with them. All of you, sit your butts down. ...Or stand them up, whatever, your butts are staying here, and you are going to listen for a minute, instead of talking because you like the sounds of your own voices and because all of you think you're 100 % right."

He glares at all the adults, the thrum of the blue bubble reverberating through his hand.

"Can I ask you all something? Well, maybe not all of you, but at least some of you: What is your problem?"

"My problem?" Peter replies with all the patience of a man who already made his argument, "My problem is that the air is getting stale in here. The boss wanted our thoughts on the proposed changes to command and I voiced them. Now I want to get the hell out of here."

Those who are paying more attention to what he is doing rather than what he is saying, which quite frankly at this juncture is probably more sensible, will notice that he's having a very hard time staying still.

"Bye Danny! See ya later!" Dani called as soon as they entered the meeting, zooming off. Of course it was good to see Danny, but she could already tell there were people here who were different. Like, in a comic book way.

Not to mention she was pretty sure some were aliens! So she decided to fly around, in ghost form since it didn't have creepy, living plant suit feeling, and do some meet and greet.

"Hi, my name is Dani, with an i. As you can see, I have ghost powers. How about you?"

Security and the City

Leon was never much for politics, so he largely stayed out of the command argument. When a break in the conversation came up, he decided to push forward a different topic.

"I've been told since I've arrived here that there are a number of threats lurking around the city, but little more than that. Does anyone have any additional information regarding that? And I'd like to know what's being done to contain and subdue these threats."

He had a faint feeling that there was something else he wanted to mention, but nothing immediately sprang to mind. But it was strange, like he knew he forgot... something. He shrugged it off for now, though.

Look, someone who agrees with Leon is speaking up. Dean's not much of a politics guy either, and he doesn't really care about who commands the ship as long as Sam's alright, and everybody's safe.

"Yeah, pretty boy's got a point. Someone mentioned patrolling the ship in one of the last meeting things, and I signed on for that, but it looks like the organization around here is sort of crap," Dean agrees, folding his arms.
