Meet N' Greet!

It's big meeting time! Word of mouth gets everyone gathered in the Obs Deck--everyone. New, old, the entire crew is there and that makes it clear that there's close to a hundred of them, if not more.

When they've all arrived, a blue bubble pops up around them, courtesy of Blue Beetle, to block them all from Stacy's sensors. Most of the new people were given the basic rundown by Cybil or Chief when they were first released. Some of them have already joined a discussion with a the Commanding Officers and department heads. Some have had a chance to explore a bit. Some were only just recently released.

Tony quirks a brow at Cassie, "Man, I hate to quote comics at superheros, but... with great power comes great responsibility, chica. You're supposed to be a good guy, right? So don't go beatin' people up 'cause they say somethin' you don't like. You might have the power, doesn't make you right all the time."

Cassie was starting to realize just how bad that was. Her dad would be disappointed...

Not that she'd admit it.

"Sticks n' stones may break my bones, but words'll never hurt me," Tony nods, "Insults are jus' words, right? Not punches, not knives, an' not guns. Just talk. Still hurt, but hey... better a wounded ego then a wounded body."

Yeah, Tony actually seems to have a surprising amount of responsibility for his age.

"OK, I think she has the point, guys. At least, I hope so."

A...larger version of the meta that had stopped Cassie from hitting Shawn steps forward. The vibe she gets is not very dissimilar from what she would normally get from Captain America.

He then fixed a glare at Hawkeye. "She just popped...inappropriate as her reaction was, she at least has the excuse of being new. What's yours?"

Kate glared back at Superman squarely, her arms folded in front of her.

"Defending and helping my friend. Guy had no excuse, and he's NOT new either. He should know better."

"And you really want someone else to start hitting you when you bother them?"

"Words are different than fists, especially since you're obviously trained and experienced in using both but don't have the first clue about when not to use them. I'd suggest learning quickly, or at least growing a thicker skin." A pause. "Only the weak succumb to brutality."

"Uh, Kate? I gotta agree with Superman, y'know? Just 'cause someone says somethin' stupid doesn't give you the right to hit 'em. 'specially when you're a superhero an' stuff and they're... uh... not."

Kate came closer, and answered bluntly, "I'd hit back, but that's not the point. I have learned, so has Cassie. The thing is, we've had to learn on our own, and had to even prove ourselves repeatedly to older heroes. A couple of you mentioned something about training, but I've yet to see anything definite about it. So you want us to learn better? Try actually teaching us."

She added to Tony, "Ok, it's one thing for Cassie since she has powers, I don't."

"If you'd like to hit me, feel free. I'll make sure Dr. McCoy checks on your hand later. Otherwise, first sessions begin at 0800 tomorrow. I'll expect you early." Superman says.

And he just stands there.

"Yeah? And? To a guy who doesn't have anything resembling martial arts training? You could still do a lot of damage."

"You still haven't apologized to Cassie," Kate pointed out to Shawn.

She then grinned at Superman, "Deal. See you at 0745." She then went back to stand with her friends.

"I'll do it as soon as she apologizes for nearly KNOCKING MY HEAD OFF."

"You mouthed off first." Superman says simply. "In a vulgar and unnecessary way. Apologizing would be the right thing to do." He then smiles.

"Fine. I'm sorry. I mouth off because it keeps me from causng the shuit to have a yellow stain. I just solve crimes alright? I don't punch aleins in the face. I don't hunt monsters. I just make sure the cops catch the right guy."

"And we're going to need you just as much as we need the other metas. Because figuring out how to get off this ship is one hell of a mystery that needs every mind that can be put on it. But we can't think about how to get off of here if we're making each other angry all the time." Superman says.

Superman then looks at all involved. "There's enough fear in everyone to go around. Lets not make us afraid of each other, ok?"

Cass had walked over to Kate and nudged her friend with her elbow lightly.

"Thanks for backing me up." She whispered. "Sorry you got in trouble. Next time- er if there is one, you can let me handle it."

"[While I am certainly flattered by the efficiency and decisiveness which you both put into defending my honor...]" the Vision observed mildly, attempting to keep a straight face, "[I am also capable of dealing with it myself.]"

Their reaction had possibly been a little extreme, but much better than Cassie thinking he wasn't human because of his armor body.

She shrugged at Cassie, and replied, "Hey you're my best friend, of course I would. It's fine."

Kate then grinned at Vision, "Alright, you can do it your way next time."
