Meet N' Greet!

It's big meeting time! Word of mouth gets everyone gathered in the Obs Deck--everyone. New, old, the entire crew is there and that makes it clear that there's close to a hundred of them, if not more.

When they've all arrived, a blue bubble pops up around them, courtesy of Blue Beetle, to block them all from Stacy's sensors. Most of the new people were given the basic rundown by Cybil or Chief when they were first released. Some of them have already joined a discussion with a the Commanding Officers and department heads. Some have had a chance to explore a bit. Some were only just recently released.

[ooc: READ THIS BEFORE TAGGING.]

"It sounds to me, ma'am, that you're taking issue with one group of people for contributing and another for not." Spidey cocks his head, "I suppose it doesn't matter as long as we lock them all away, right?"

"We are not locking anyone away. Miss Alex, I appreciate you being frank with me, and I'm certain that a compromise can be reached. We need to be able to work together on this. I understand that we all come from different realities and times and worlds, so common ground may be difficult to find. But take note that this place will continue to be a reality whether we choose to accept a command structure or not.

"In any community where survival is key, there are leaders. If you have a problem with this, then feel free to leave, because I can not and will not spend all my time as Captain trying to appease one group so they feel better about serving under my command. I can better spend that time aiding the crew that will work and cooperate."

"When those 'contributions' or the lack thereof put my life at risk, you're damn right I take issue with it. It's my life and you have no right to put it at risk any more than I have the right to put yours at risk. Especially without asking."

"I wasn't suggesting I did. My concern was that you were accusing people who don't want to risk your life by fighting of commiting an equally serious offence! Doesn't that sound, I dunno, a little hypocrital? No, just a smidge?"

He sighs heavily, and looks upon the breadth of Starfleet's finest, "Look, I'm clearly outnumbered here. I was given a job to do, keeping an eye on the kidlets, and unless you want me reassgned I don't have a problem continuing to do that. If that'll be all--"

And with that last little bit of adolescent posturing, he zips off to find Jaime so he can let him out.

Jean had heard that a new bunch of people had pod popped and curiosity had drawn her down to the meet and greet.

As soon as she stepped into the the room, she was immediately hit with feelings of anger, frustration, annoyance and lingering resentment. Her brows furrowed and she slowly looked around the room at everyone.

Her eyes widened and momentarily she stood there and her mouth dropped open in surprise... The Professor?! But the more she looked at him and the longer she stood there, she knew it wasn't him. Confused, she frowned and moved slowly into the room, listening to the heated conversation.

She cleared her throat finally and took a step forward. "I have something to say. I know I haven't been a part of this crew very long. But it seems to me that you might have a harder time insisting on any sort of disciplinary actions with some of our crew...." She shrugged her shoulders.

"There needs to be something else put into effect with those of us who could get around any sort of punishment that you can come up with. I highly doubt that you'd be much of a threat to Superman." She looked over at Worf - she's not being rude, she's just stating facts.

"How exactly do you plan on dealing with them? I could easily toss many a person around in here, though I'm sure there are some my powers don't have much effect on." Maybe... Perhaps.

"I'm honestly unsure of that one," Picard replied. "If this place brings people from all realities, then perhaps someone I know from that other reality are here. They may know how better to deal with so many varied powers and abilities."

Jean looked over at the Professor the man and smiled slightly. "Then I wish you luck in finding some one with that knowledge."

It wasn't much help, she knew that. But she felt that they really needed to talk into account that there were those in the crew that they might have no control over what-so-ever.

"I'm Doctor Jean Grey by the way. I'm a pyschic and I'm also telekentic." She said, figuring it was best to introduce herself and tell what her powers were right up front, considering she could possibly be one of the harder ones to control.

"I recognize the name. One of the X-Men, correct?"

Even though she'd found that more people knew of her on this ship than not, it was always a little alarming when someone said something like that.

She really wished people would stop doing that to her!

"Yes.... Yes I am," she said with a sigh, her eyebrows furrowing a little bit.

"I never met you myself, Miss Grey, but I did meet a friend of yours. Storm? It was thanks to her help and the help of the X-Men that the Enterprise and her crew were able to return to our own reality. My name is Captain Jean-Luc Picard, though you likely already know it."

"Oh..." She looks confused, and though she wanted to ask exactly what the hell he was talking about - now wasn't the time. "Well, I'm glad they were able to help you..."

"I did..." She paused, allowing a smile to form on her lips. "I have to admit, you bear a striking resemblance to someone I know..."

YAY Jean! You've for the moment killed the bickering - someone get the woman a cookie or something!

The bickering is killed for all of three seconds. See, 'cause that's when Spidey asks to be let out of the bubble.

Then the bickering doesn't start up again. No, this isn't bickering. This is a sixteen-year-old boy calling all the adults out. (http://community.livejournal.com/trans_9/50530.html?thread=4144482#t4144482)
