13th-Feb-2012 10:39 pm - A Return
The man sat at one of the mess hall tables, eating with one hand and tapping on the omnicomm on the table with the other. He wasn't just tall, he was big, broad across the shoulders and built like a tank underneath the plant suit. The pale skin of his neck and face was laced with scarring. He was entirely focused on what he was reading, brow furrowed slightly.

There were only a few people on the ship that might have recognized the Master Chief without his armor.

He had been asleep for a long time, that much was clear.

It was making things difficult.

1st-Jan-2012 08:39 pm - Meet and Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the battle with SHODAN the place looks a little worst for wear, but the crew and even Stacy are trying to be in good spirits. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, and the little stunt in trying to kill off the people in the pods, many are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicom. New crew-mates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that), a large afro attached to a smaller girl, and talking ponies among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in. But thankfully this time, there's a system that was set up to aid the new crew members with a few more experienced ones.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. Big brother/sister, there will be a thread for you as well!]

10th-Dec-2011 06:21 pm - Vatican [Open]
Once Atom had read the initial comm post, he headed over to the closest place where he thought people would be -- the Vatican, once converted into a fortress against outside attack. It had since been mostly restored to its original state, but some fortifications still remained -- hopefully, some food and supplies, too. He'd heard people had used it as a safe area before, so maybe some of them would head there now. As he touched down within its limits, his rocket boosters kicked off. His footsteps seemed to echo through the tall construction as he walked along the paved stone... but for now, he seemed to be alone, in the midst of dead silence.

Or was he?

"Hello?" he called. "Is anyone there? Does anyone need help?"

[Robutts will be forthcoming 83. I'll bring some Terminators, but if anyone else could NPC some other robots, that'd be great!

P.S. I will be waiting for more people to tag in before I add robots.]
21st-Nov-2011 02:52 pm - That deserves a drink
A couple months in Glados' mazes are enough to make anyone miss Stacy. Samus is no exception to that. Whether she liked it or not, Stacy was where her life was now. She had obligations there. She had responsibilities there. And damn, she actually cared about the crew here. She was genuinely glad when the AI spit her out of the mazes.

So for her own private celebration, Samus went to the tavern. She managed to avoid running into anyone on her way here. As much as she did care about the crew, her own mental health and peaceful alone time are important too. Opportunities to do absolutely nothing didn't come along too often for her, and Samus was not going to waste this. She sat down with a drink in the tavern to enjoy a couple more hours of solitude before going back to being a proper crew member. Sure, someone was bound to realize she was back eventually, but until one stumbled into to Drunken Dragon and found her, she could go on not-existing to the rest of Stacy's residents.

9th-Sep-2011 11:15 pm - No Rest For The Weary? [open]
Before the battle at Lirath five people had seemingly disappeared, but now it seemed they had been wandering Glados' mazes in a bit of an annoyance to two of them. Dustin took it in stride, and Sabrina had done her best to keep her emotions in check. However Mark Allan and Ashley Williams were not happy. Neither one trusted the AI at all, and Ashley in particular hated her with a passion.

"I swear that damned AI just likes to push us too far!"

Mark nodded grimly. "If I could control my powers, I'd like to see how much heat she can resist before melting... Someday Glados. Someday..."

Dustin gave a shrug to Sabrina. it was obvious they were not going to let that go. But they had other concerns. "Dudes. I think we've got bigger problems than Glados. We have to find out what we missed." Sabrina didn't say anything but silently agreed with the Ninja Storm Ranger.

10th-Jul-2011 09:41 pm - Burden of Rank [OPEN]
Being in command meant having to make the hard decisions.

Trudy knew that, but having to dishonorably discharge a talented pilot like Allenby still crawled under the collar and itched. Her shoulders took on a distinct slump as she walked through the hallways of the ship, mouth set in a hard line, going over the confrontation in her head. Could she have done anything differently?

Probably not. Allenby had been hell-bent on what she was doing and no amount of logic was going to dissuade her from flying down to the planet with just her Gundam and a small crew. Trudy was satisfied that she'd manage to stop her from getting herself and others killed... but the incident was a black mark on Starfighter Command and her ability to control her pilots.

These were the times that she hated her job.

Her boots hit the grass of Hydroponics and she made a beeline for the beer tree. She probably would have had better company at the Drunken Dragon, but company wasn't what she was after. Not right now, not after what had just gone down in the hangar.

Knowing this ship though, company would find her whether she wanted it or not.

9th-Jul-2011 08:52 pm - Breaking free [Open]
Intense light and heat spilled out of a portal from the mazes, and as it faded, Aqua emerged, an angry look on her face. Some distance behind her were Tenaya, Devlin (encased in a protective layer of stone), and Ren in Rider form. Tenaya's visor and Ren's helmet hid their expressions well, but Devlin was practically gaping at the Keyblade Master.

"Okay," Tenaya said. "Not ticking you off anytime soon."

Managing to calm down after the Mega Flare spell, Aqua dispelled her Keyblade. "At least we're out now."
7th-Jul-2011 12:23 am - The King Is Back, Long Live The King
Grif was back, and he was back with a vengeance.

Or at least, he was lounging on the Obs Deck. It was kind of difficult to pick up the vengeance with which he was doing this, but he was almost making a point out of it.

Grif was on a couch, chilling, and any ceiling voices that had a problem with that could go...

go...

go do something that was insulting to ceiling voice computers with psychological problems, anyway.

Congrats, crew, one (or the only) of your (least?) favorite pieces of orange-armored furniture has returned from the test chambers. Rejoice! (Or not.)

24th-May-2011 08:28 am - A New Look [Open]
What is known: when the crew came to XaXing for Shore Leave, Sasami was made a rich girl - two sets of memories spanning a combined total of just over a millennium would do that for someone wanting to sell them to someone who wanted to buy memories. Sasami had spent plenty of that money to help stock up her little restaurant and her house with enough food and other things to last them until another stop, if not longer. But, it did leave her with so much more to indulge on, yet it left her holding the bag - she had no idea, at the time, what to do with it.

What isn't known: that after a few false starts, Sasami had finally figured out what to get from there... and it made her a little more than a bit embarrassed about wanting to be seen in them. One of those things was an interesting collection of clothes. During her wandering, she had passed by a clothing shop and, while she had every intention on picking up either casual clothes or those close to her usual Juraian-style kimonos, there were a few that especially caught her eye.

At the moment, in an abandoned building, she was trying out one of those. The person had said that it was fit for a princess and it certainly fit: the bright white, gold and pink colors, the intricate design pattern on the outer jacket gloves and boots, the flared skirting. It was like it was made for a princess.

Finding a mirror to look at herself, a bit smile formed on her face, giving herself a little spin as if showing someone with her a full look of her in it. Despite all her want and need to help, wearing this gave a sense of just being herself...
At four different points throughout the ship is one of those sights that is more regular than any would probably like. Suddenly, GLaDOS drops a handful of women who had been shuffled off for tests back out, deeming them capable of being among the others, again.

Claire Redfield stood up after being expelled and quickly spun around, kicking the wall in frustration.

"Should've blown up your goddamn AI core when I had the chance!" she screamed at the wall. She spun away and stalked off down the hall before Stacy could issue any warnings for her attempting to damage the walls, and she was irritated enough that she might just try to claw her way back in to break the AI for good.

Scarlet Levy had a somewhat less violent response to the tests, because as uncomfortable as it had been, she understood and accepted it was something that was apparently needed. She straightened herself out, and started back towards Contagion. She wasn't sure how much work she'd missed, but she needed to get on it.

Yve Cousland was mostly just confused, and annoyed that she didn't have any cake, and with that in mind, started back towards the castle.

Zoë Shepard stood and checked herself over after the experiment, frowning a little. Unbeknownst to her her time was a little messed with at the moment, and the tests just made everything else all the more confusing. With a bit of a careful surveying of the area, she started back towards the Hangar.

26th-Oct-2010 11:30 pm - Crossroads Between [Open]
To say that Sasami was conflicted at the moment would be an understatement.

By Sasami's own nature, she was a helper - she always tried to help out everywhere she went, no matter what. From cleaning house to saving time itself, she was there, giving a helping hand. Thus, when she was woken to face the Ohm, she found it her calling to do what she could to help.

Instead, she was told to stay back, that, because she was a child, she shouldn't meddle in the affairs of adults and just be a kid.

So, she tried being a kid. Tried being the keyword here; the second she opted to do that, Hit Girl appeared and more or less told her that she should be out there fighting with the rest.

And thus, her conflict. To turn her back on those who could use her help would be turning her back on who she is and what she's done, yet to turn her back on what's left of her childhood would mean losing out on what was left of it.

Hiding in the Media Library, watching a random anime (which oddly featured a version of her in an outfit too skimpy for a kid), she let out a sigh.

"...I wish I could be like you." Sasami mused, watching the show. "You knew what to do with your life. You wanted to help others. And yet, I can't do that here. Now without making someone angry or protective." She let out a sigh as she sat back and continued watching
21st-Oct-2010 08:35 pm - Atelier Something Something [Open]
Ed was up and about and puttering around a small building that he had found. It was a fancy little thing that looked like it stepped out of a French boutique. Inside he had found a workspace, like it was a mechanic store, but there were vials everywhere and other assorted items. One of the rare few places that still retained some presence of the former owners.

As such, he had come up on an idea while getting better: a store for Alchemy. Not just any store, but a store designed to make little things for people that were within the realm of transmutation.

Thus, gathering loose items such as ores, junk, broken toys (he checked to make sure they weren't alive like Woody), and other such brick-a-brack, he had placed them around the shop to make it feel more welcoming.

Finally he was done, and with it came a name. The faded sign read Atelier which meant an artists studio or workroom. Thus being said, he was pouring over a list of possible names for his store, keeping in the tradition of Atelier something something.

In his haste to keep the items together, he had left the door open, awaiting visitors.
14th-Oct-2010 05:09 pm - A moment of silence [Open]
Stacy was never truly silent. There was the slightly audible hum of the systems, and the others in the Sensorium, to create a rather pleasing sound within the audible range of most species. But Cortana wasn't adding to that; rather she was sitting on her own created boulder, deep in thought. She'd learned quite a bit from Chief's video logs, and more still from the Library once he'd uploaded her back into Stacy's systems. It was a lot of data to process, and so she'd adopted the thinking pose some humans used. Legs pulled up to her chest, and her head resting on her knees. She looked, and felt, almost normal.

...well, normal as an AI passing as a human could get. Oh, the plant suit she'd chosen to appear to wear went a long way to making her blend in compared to her normal holographic form, but the violet tinted blue hair and bright blue eyes didn't help her to blend in. And she honestly didn't know why she'd chosen those. Nostalgia, perhaps? No, she could return to her simple AI form at any time she wanted. And it wasn't as if Stacy didn't carry some different looking people, so it wasn't to stand out. Maybe it was becuase it just felt right to look this way. A mix between a human and the AI she was.

But it didn't really matter. Even with all her processing power, sorting all the information she had taken in over the past few days would still take some time, and that time would be much better spent on figuring out just what the hell had happened then moping about why she had chosen to take this form.
19th-Sep-2010 12:03 pm - Just Gotta Have Fun...! [Open]
Beyond what was going on, things seemed a bit tame for Sasami. Though she had been falling into the habit of helping Nathan with his work and practicing her newfound magic via Negi's Pactio, she missed some of the better things of being a kid, like actually having some sort of fun.

It was probably why she made her way to the Sensoriums and just let something random form up. Suddenly, it felt like home - trees, trees and more trees formed within the now-virtual forest. True, she could have gone to Hydroponics for this, but she didn't want to disturb anything special there. A big smile formed on her face as she ran up to one tree and started trying to climb it. She wanted to see what was at the top of it all...
4th-Sep-2010 12:26 am - Hugging Booth Mk-II [OPEN]
People had been through a hard time recently and Sasami could see it easily. Kawalsky and Cassie, two people who tried to make themselves known on this ship, were gone. Taken by a madman who thought he could take this ship by force.

They needed something to help them cheer up somehow. Anything at this point! After a bit of thinking, an idea came to her - someone had made a hugging booth earlier and everyone ended up getting hugs from that person. If that worked before, why can't she do it now?

Quickly setting up signs across parts of the City, Sasami set up her own little booth just outside her massive tree home.

Sadly for Sasami? All those signs were in Japanese, so those who don't know it are in for a surprise as to what's going on.
