Atelier Something Something [Open]

Ed was up and about and puttering around a small building that he had found. It was a fancy little thing that looked like it stepped out of a French boutique. Inside he had found a workspace, like it was a mechanic store, but there were vials everywhere and other assorted items. One of the rare few places that still retained some presence of the former owners.

As such, he had come up on an idea while getting better: a store for Alchemy. Not just any store, but a store designed to make little things for people that were within the realm of transmutation.

Thus, gathering loose items such as ores, junk, broken toys (he checked to make sure they weren't alive like Woody), and other such brick-a-brack, he had placed them around the shop to make it feel more welcoming.

Finally he was done, and with it came a name. The faded sign read Atelier which meant an artists studio or workroom. Thus being said, he was pouring over a list of possible names for his store, keeping in the tradition of Atelier something something.

In his haste to keep the items together, he had left the door open, awaiting visitors.

"Hello? Anyone here?"

Asuna had made her way into the building a few seconds later, having a list of items she'd have to procure in order for the bus to fully function once again after her...rage-induced attack. Hence her going around town personally - hopefully without Matt finding out - to ensure said items were collected securely.

"How about...the Atelier Shop of Elric? And, that's right." Asuna confirmed two out of 4 of Ed's responses while looking around.

"Kinda both. Here's what I need." She handed him her list before resuming her browsing.

"...You sure about that?" Cue Asuna coming across one of those maces with Ed's face on it.

"That's good; can you make sure this gets sent to the W.I.T.C.H. bus asap? Possibly around the afternoon since I should be there."

After a brief encounter, Ashley Williams was exploring the city mostly for the boredom but she was a tad curious about some of the other worlds. And if they were to survive the Ohm and rebuild, they had to learn from each other. So, it was this day that she wandered into Ed's store.

"Hello? Anyone here?"
poetrysoldier: (Amused)

Ash gave a polite wave to the rather short blonde, a tried her best not to stare. "Nice to meet you. I'm Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams, you can call me Ash or Ashley. Either one works. What sort of place is this?"
poetrysoldier: (Thinking)

[personal profile] poetrysoldier 2010-10-22 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Huh. Good idea. I wasn't aware anyone on board had that kind of skills, I guess it takes all sorts of people here." Ashley said in a thinking pose. The kid was all right she guessed, and at least he wasn't an AI.

She really should have changed out of the costume, especially when she was still nursing a few deep scratches, but for now Hit Girl was content with basking in the glow of her first fight on the ship. Sure, it had been a simulation, but the safety's had been off and even with the help of the water girl, she'd taken down a fucking DRAGON. As far as she was concerned, there was nowhere to go but up.

As for the Outsiders, she'd think about joining them. For now, she was starting to map out the City. She was sure there was one available, but she wanted to make her own notes in case she needed to follow up on things. It just so happens she comes across a building that looked like it was a work in progress.

"Hey, anyone here?" she called out.

[identity profile] hit-girl-mindy.livejournal.com 2010-10-22 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. So there was a guy here, and...she had no idea what it was he had in his hand or why. "What's an Atelier? What are you doing back here anyway?"

Make something up? What did he mean. "What can you make? Are you a blacksmith?"

Eternal Mana?

[identity profile] for-magic.livejournal.com 2010-10-22 12:20 pm (UTC)(link)
In came an elf, who, attracted by the odd sensation of power, had dropped out of the sky moments before to land lightly in front of the door. He looked almost like a bloodhound on the scent, but what he hunted was answers. "Pardon me, is anyone...?"

Ye-ep. Picked up Atelier Rorona and got re-hooked.

"In here," called out Ed as he emerged from his table. "Hey," greeted Ed. "I should really put up that sign or something. Welcome to the Atelier Alchemist," greeted Ed, using the name Asuna gave him for the store.

I had really considered Zetta bursting in, going "I heard there was eternal mana!"

[identity profile] for-magic.livejournal.com 2010-10-22 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"Alchemist?" Aibghalien said, an eyebrow and the corners of his lips lifting. He then offered a precise bow. "Aibghalien, at your service. I almost said that I practice the craft too, but on looking at your workshop here, it occurs to me that it looks absolutely nothing like my laboratory, so I'm hesitant to say that what you do is at all what like I do now."

Pfffh maybe later?

[identity profile] fulltinyalchemy.livejournal.com 2010-10-22 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Edward Elric, likewise," nodded Ed. "And yeah, my alchemy's really different from most people. I don't use circles or bubbling pots to make liquid at, despite the workshop." And he gestured towards the huge cauldron that sat empty to the corner in the fireplace.

"Just set up shop here because of the location really. It's close to my house and it had a few things like table space." added Ed.

DYNAMIC ENTRY!

Alex had begun idly wandering the city, his depression still no where near being gone, though it had improved mildly. Enough that he wasn't spending the whole day wrapped in a ball, at least.

As he wandered, something caught his eye. It wasn't Edward, or the fact that the store was new, but it was a simple brown floppy plush dog (http://www.agapebears.com/douglas/1758.jpg) that got his attention.

He couldn't put his finger on why, but for some reason, it seemed familiar. He stopped and peered into the store, from the side, wondering what it was that made the toy seem so familiar. He couldn't remember having any plush toys as a child, and yet he wanted to take the plush dog and hold it tight.

It was a silly idea though. He was 17. He was old enough that he shouldn't be wanting a stuffed toy!

But why not? Who said that, if he felt like it would be a comfort despite it's ripped seem and missing eye, that he couldn't have it?

Either way, he was having trouble working up the nerve to actually enter in the first place. Instead he just kept peering around the corner of the doorway.

[identity profile] fulltinyalchemy.livejournal.com 2010-10-22 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Finely tuned senses noted that someone was at the door while Ed poured over the notes that he was making. Some things were being fixed and finally the sign had decided to cooperate with him.

Picking up some plastic and wood, he laid it down on the workshop table and clapped his hands. "You know the door is open," he called out as he laid his hands on the table.

Electric blue light flashed and crackled, and a sign flared into being, constructed from the materials on the table; a simple thing with the picture of an alchemist circle with a vial in the middle of it reading Aletier Alchemist.

[identity profile] hack-rat.livejournal.com 2010-10-22 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Alex jumped as he was addressed, and then his jaw dropped at the flash of light. He stepped in nervously, looking around like something was going to jump out from a corner. "Th-that's... I-incredible..." He took a few more hesitant steps in, closer to the plush he saw earlier.

[identity profile] fulltinyalchemy.livejournal.com 2010-10-22 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's science," replied Ed with a lazy shrug. "Perfectly learn able by anyone dedicated enough to research and study."

He pushed up the pair of glasses that he wore for looks gdi not that his eyesight hadn't been weird for a while and arched a eyebrow. "Looking for something in particular? Don't be too shy, speak up on it."

After having seen Edward's post on the omnicomms, Fletcher set out in search of Edward's... "atelier". Whatever that was.

He poked his head in through the door. "Hello?"

[identity profile] fulltinyalchemy.livejournal.com 2010-10-26 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"Heeeey Fletcher," greeted Ed as he looked up from his padd. "Great, you're here. What do you think? It's an Alchemy Workshop."
greennotgold: (Alerted)

[personal profile] greennotgold 2010-10-26 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Fletcher tilted his head. "So that's what an atelier is?" he asked, pronouncing the word... pretty much how an English-speaker would pronounce it after seeing it the first time. "It looks really nice!"
