The list of people that she'd have willingly gone out into this cold for was limited, but her brother was definitely one of them and she really did want to see him. So Alanna bundled herself tightly in as much clothing as she could find, layering her Gift within the fabric to hold onto as much of the ship's warmth as she could, and then headed out into the cold, grumbling under her breath.
At least it wasn't as cold as at the Roof of the World. That was a positive anyway, but not much of a comfort as she paced back and forth near the ship, waiting for Thom.
All she knew is that if he didn't show up soon, they would be having this conversation on the ship whether or not he wanted to even if she had to drag him there. She hated the cold!

Today's trek to Pelau's glass desert had started as more of a ridiculous dare than a serious idea for Billy. Terrain to conquer just because he could? It sounded reckless, but the risk carried a reward for it too. If the rumors of a beautiful display of lights were true, he definitely wanted to be out there. Rumor also had it that a few of his friends were going, and he didn't want to be left behind.
After packing his supplies and telling a few people where he was going just to be sure, he'd set off. It was a long, slow trek, and he was sure that the others who had gone this way had long surpassed him. He was a Southern California native! The desert he was accustomed to trekking was considerably hotter and sandier.
Finally, though, he stumbled across a small half-finished shelter that another traveler had built for themselves some time ago. Exhausted as he was, he set about securing it. When it was comfortable enough for a few hours of rest, he put out a call to any friends who might be in the region. Oh, he hoped they were there.
{{Hey, it's me, Billy. Are any of you hungry? I have some food in the shelter.}}

In Happy Happy Fun World, there is a magical land of wonder and mystical mystery.
And also waterslides.
This is Wizards of Waterly Place, a magic-themed water park. And this place is actually magical--or at least the technology makes it seem that way. Waterslides cut off at certain places, causing the park goers to "magically" appear on another water slide elsewhere where they continue (thanks to teleportation), and wavepools shoot out sparkles into the air where the waves crash into each other. Sometimes tubes move around and change shape as the riders are still sliding through them, leading to an even more exciting ride.
This park is home to one of the tallest waterslides in the universe, "The Amazing," which needs actually gravity dampers to prevent people from dying when they hit the bottom, and is responsible for the greatest swimsuit wedgies in all of existence. There's also the "Rabbit in a Hat" Drop Slides where the park goers jump down through top hat shaped slides, the "Mystic River" lazy tube ride, and the "Aqua Kadabra" river raft ride, among others. And don't forget "Nimue's Pool," the massive wave pool that changes colors and occasionally has bubbles rising from the water. (Some are big enough to hold people and carry them into the air before popping a few feet over the surface and dropping them back in the water).
For those that didn't bring swimsuits, ones stamped all over with logos can be bought at a shop outside the entrance of this part of the park, along with t-shirts, towels, and flip flops. Lockers can be rented near the changing rooms. There are also souvenir "wands" that squirt water and bubbles at people along with wand holders that can be bought here and top hats with flowers on them that shoot water, among other souvenirs.

Land of the Pharaohs, where it's Ancient Egypt all year round. "Experience the authenticity of Ancient Egypt, in the present!"
How about Anubis, the god of fertility and harvest? Seth, the goddess of love?
Or if someone took what they thought it looked like from storybooks and every incorrect paper ever and jammed them into an unholy theme park. You can ride the sarcophagus down through a river ride (watch out for the fake alligators). watch performers juggle canopic jars, or go through the haunted pyramid (made of fake gold): watch out for traps and mummies! There's also camels, lots of camels. Watch out. They spit.
That's just the tip of the iceberg. It only goes downhill from here.

Welcome, dear visitor, to a world consisting entirely of plastic-looking city sets. My, don't they look ready to blast apart at a moment''s notice? It's almost as if an attack is expected in this sector.
But not to worry! The 'attacks' here are just goofy entertainment. Lovably laughable employees in dull green suits may make menacing gestures at times, but they're just a nuisance. The visitors to this section are protected by the Masked Rangers, the people in heavy helmets and spandex suits you might see from time to time. The acrobat-types, the ones in the flimsy suits, perform tricky stunts and wave 'blasters' that shoot a cheap spark effect from time to time. Driver-types wear heavier armor and traverse this section of the park in their specialized motorcycles, zipping down specialized roadways seemingly from nowhere.
Other than that, the environment is fairly industrial. The main attractions are in the 'abandoned warehouse district'. It features greasy food (and surprisingly good smoothies, strangely enough), alarm bells every now and then, and the crowning ride of this sector: an exciting cart ride through the warehouses that culminates in riding atop a giant mecha. The vibrations as the mech carrying the vehicle shoots its lasers are quite unsettling the first time or two, and riding through the smoke cloud of a post-henshin explosion can cause mild fits of coughing. This adventure is not for the faint of heart.
Simpler shows are done in the park-like area, where a few of the more acrobatic employees in helmets and flimsy costumes seems to dance-fight with several of the mooks. It's a cute show, and the only exciting thing is the spread of the explosion. It shoots up in a rainbow of colors when the heroes make a pose. Games can be played here, but always be ready to clear out and make way for the heroes! A little parade of motorcycles and mecha comes through several times a day, and masked characters address the audience with well-prepared safety tips and suggestions for community service.
Gift shops in this area feature knockoff Masked Ranger costumes, transformation toys that light up, toy mecha and motorcycles that combine in many very expensive combinations, and little sparkler lights. Fortunately, actual material for an explosion is not sold.
This nonsense might feel strangely familiar... - Tags:!location: planetside, !plot: shore leave, !status: open, billy cranston, kon-el, mark allan/molten man, phillip, shoutarou hidari, tenaya, tetsuwan atom/astro boy, tim drake/red robin

"Welcome-a to Videoland!" tells you an animatronic, rusted and chipping man. "My name is-a Somari the Spaceman! It's-a very good to see you, woohoo, ha ha!!" Next to him a green (also chipped and rusted) fat Hedgehog statue dressed in green and with a leather outfit stands close doing a peace sign. "And I'm his good buddy, Scory the Porcupine! Welcome to Videolang Buddy!" Ahh Videoland! Popular no less than ten years ago, it has began a recent decline compared to the other parts of Happy Happy Land due to most of their clientele simply growing too old for it and going off to the other parts of the planet. Still waiting for a new deal with a game provider to use their licenses, it becomes older and more jaded, still trying to have the same magic as a while ago, but the dream being long gone. The world is now a dangerous combination of video games bordering bootleg and strange creatures and things that are just the right amount off not to be written as simple copied parodies. Costumed men and women wear the suits of the mascots, and a few pretty girls wearing the Princess Lana, Ruler of Videoland™ costume don't look as bright and cheerful as they should be. Every four hours, there's a Captain N: The Gamemaster show, with the typical theme park overacting and asking kids questions as anagrammatic versions of Mother Brains, Eggplant Wizard & King D'ippo capture her and have to be saved by Rock N' Rollman, Solomon Belmont, Kid Icarus and, of course, Captain N, the Game Master. Everything seems sort of wrong. Like a marketing gimmick that caught on. The annoying young kids seem to like the show, mind you. However if you're not here to watch terrible theater productions, the park is divided into six subsections, accessible by a monorail. Well, when the monorail is working anyway (and it is today! LUCKY YOU!) When you arrive you are standing near the Palace of Power, large, impressive (and pink) castle that apparently belongs to Princess Lana. ( KONGOLAND! Where arcades and tropical food reigns. )( SPACEPIRATE LAND! Your Horror XTREME!!! COME GET YOUR HOROSCOPE. )( MEGALAND, Futuristic theme part of rides and booths...available TODAY! )( MOUNT ICARUS....LAND! It's where the kids go while their parents go elsewhere )( CASTLEVANIALAND! The medieval land of horror, magic and the biggest coaster! )With all these sections it might take a while! Welcome to Kittenland, the most adorable place in Happy Happy Fun World! If you didn't like Kittenland, you probably had no soul at all. There was the Kitten Go Round, a Merry Go Round where everyone could ride a kitten; the Nyan Cat Coaster, a rollercoaster where the carriages were in the shape of kittens with pop tart bodies, racing along a rainbow track to the constant sound of ' nyanyanyanyan'; the Kitten Petting Corner (with real kittens!); and the Hello Kitty Teacups. And then there was the merchandise - the Nyan Cat Coaster had a shop of it's own, as did the Hello Kitty Teacups, both with a considerable range in merchandise; there was Kitten Candy, kitten t-shirts, kitten magnets, and more. Oddly enough though, you couldn't buy actual kittens. In an area centered around a large stadium, Happy Happy Fun World's celebration of one of the multiverse's many popular pastimes sat. CAPTCHABEASTS: Hafta Claim 'Em All. A sport, and widespread multimedia franchise, where people caught little semi-sentient super powered animals and had them beat the crud out of each other. Aside from Captchaland's Stadium, there were several other attractions. Musical Shows with singing Jinglyfluff's, a Merry-Go-Round where you could ride seats based on on some of the larger four-legged Captchabeasts instead of horses, Bumper Cars based on two teams of villains from the popular Captchabeasts animated holoshow, a Ferris Wheel with CaptchaCrate based cars, and a rollercoaster based on the legendary Skyzacoatl that looped over the stadium itself, among others. If you were feeling particularly adventurous and competitive, or just wanted to watch a battle, there was the aforementioned stadium. Spectators went through the main entrance, while a smaller doorway was reserved for competitors. A brightly-colored 'world' of balloons, mascots, rides, and glittery lights, Gold Planet was ever loud and ever entertaining. It was home to any number of typical attractions. Haunted houses, gondola rides, the Tunnel of Love, roller coasters, funnel cake, mirror houses, tacky T-shirts, and more! Of course, there was also the ever-popular Pecoco racetrack, home to large, colorful birds that could be bet upon and ridden.

Medieval World was one of the largest year-round renaissance faires in the multiverse. Minstrels and bards wandered the streets, vendors sold ridiculously overpriced period clothing, jewelry, weapons, and turkey legs as big as a human's head, and the royal court mingled with the commoners. There were events everywhere: falconers, magicians, belly dancing, hypnotists, weapons competitions including swords, axes, maces, and bows, camel rides, Washing Well Wenches, fake jousting on wooden 'horses' suspended on ropes, and real jousting. As was typical of these sorts of events, anachronicity was everywhere, as were patrons in all sorts of fantasy costumes. Join in the fun! [OOC: Add things if you want, and go for it!

An area built over a bay, there is no actual solid ground anywhere to be found in Pirateland. It's a land made entirely of wooden walkways, nets to climb, and of course, wooden pirate ships to explore. And then there are the rides: A pirate ship that swings nearly upside down; bumper boats; a ride that starts out as a Tunnel of Love but quickly transitions into a drunken pirate-themed It's a Small World. And then, of course, there are the souvenirs to buy in the many assorted gift shops. Flimsy plastic swords, pirate hats, stuffed parrots. Or why not go get drunk down at the tavern? Howard's not a team player. Back in the days of class group projects, he almost always ended up obstructing progress more than he helped with his bad attitude and critical eye, if he and Orc didn't just pressure the other kids into doing their work for them. And in the FAYZ, his role on the Council essentially devolved into aggravating Astrid and heckling public speakers.
So it's struck him with some surprise that he actually seems to fit in with the other Medical Staff so far on Stacy. Granted, he's been attentive and professional, for the most part, rather than getting in the way, so that probably helps. But more than that, the other staff seem nice, even friendly. Not trustworthy, but no one is. After over a year in the FAYZ, where friendliness was even more scarce than food and everyone was starving for both, it's a strange experience to him.
Howard's pack is empty, for the moment. He's just finished dropping off another bag full of food at his Warehouse on Stacy. Having purchased a cat (for nefarious purposes), some illegal substances (for fallback purposes), and nearly a hundred pounds of cheap bulk food (also for fallback purposes), he's only got a few credits left. Perhaps it's time to buy something more useful than backup resources during his last night here.
He sees the Sampire and Anwei each in the crowd an waves to them, gesturing for them to join him.
|
So with Stacy's credits, as well as a sell or two of his memories (he found the idea so weird initially, but after thinking about it, he somewhat warmed up to the idea, offering a few of his most beloved but not too serious or personal memories), Snow had finally begun his journey. His journey with Serah to browse around and buy her anything she wanted. He had no idea how often the ship and her crew made stops like this, much less stops on planets with so many things ripe for the buying, so figured he'd play it safe and go all out to spend everything he had.
Snow and Serah could be seen moving about together hand in hand, stopping at this stall and that one to see what they had to offer. Clothes? Trinkets? Random things that Serah thought were cute? Every thing she'd show an interest in would get the same question from Snow: "You want it?" And though the two looked absolutely content in each other's company, they also had a more than open air about them if they spotted any new or familiar faces in the crowds.
[ooc: feel free to run into them at any ol' made up stall!]

While everyone else was busy going shopping down on the planet, Setsuna had more important things to do. Namely, take his Gundam out for a test run. Everything had gone smoothly, and all systems were functional. Which bothered him a little bit. There had been certain subtleties to the 00, sometimes it would pull on a hairpin turn, an occasional rattle in the cockpit when he pushed past a certain speed... none of those things were there. The suit was perfect. Too perfect. It was almost as if the suit was brand new. Except the 00 Raiser had been through hell, and the odds of its GN drives being repaired after Exia and 0 Gundam exploded were faint at best. It did have all the hallmarks of Celestial Being's craftmanship, but even so, Setsuna couldn't help but wonder where did this suit come from? And its GN drives? Two more questions to add to the growing pile, and he still had no answers. "Gundam..." As he exited the machine, he half expected to have Trudy screaming at him again about him not asking permission before launching previously. As if he needed her permission, or anyone else's, to take his own suit outside. But as he lowered himself from the cockpit to the ground, those concerns went right out the window as he noticed the two suits docked behind Dynames. ...so, he was here now. And off in the distance he could see that Tieria's suit, which had disappeared briefly, was back again. Which meant that the four of them were together again. The thought brought the smallest of smiles to the corner of his mouth, though only for a brief moment. "Allelujah..." As his feet hit the hangar floor, he scrapped whatever plans he did have. After all, if Arios, along with its predecessor Kryios, were both here, his comrade was sure to show up soon enough looking for them. Setsuna would just hang out by his own suits and wait for him.
