27th-Jul-2010 11:46 pm - PARTY ON!
Hisk is throwing a party in the Drunken Dragon.

She just hasn't told Kang about it.

It's a general purpose party for the election, for winners and losers (and voters!) alike. EVERYONE is invited! There's beer and real food for all, what more could you ask for?

(OOC: If your character wants to help waiting on people/cooking/what have you, go for it. :D And this is a mingle post so feel free to thread about!)
If there could be a little line following where Hiccup was going through the ship, it'd show that the young man couldn't stand still. Several things were on his mind.

1) Finding Astrid.

2) Finding some mead or ale to thank Kang.

3) Finding the other two that had helped save him, other than Astrid and Kang.

4) Finding Ed to learn about science.

5) Finding this "Engineering" place that was clearly the kind of place that would be wonder and a joy for him to be in.

The search was afoot. He had people, places, and booze to find.

And thus Hiccup hobbled through the halls with a set of crutches (he really shouldn't be putting much weight on his injured leg yet), on his mighty Viking quest.
1st-Jun-2010 02:40 pm - Meat and Greet!
Stacy's voice speaks over the whole of the ship. What she has to say has become very familiar over the the podlings have spent here.

||Pod Release Protocols Initiating,|| she says. ||Please proceed to the Observation Deck to meet your new crew mates.||

Those crew members that don't head to the Obs Deck on their own are hurried there via gentle but insistent tentacles. A few people stop by Engineering to help bring and pass out omnicoms and comm rings to the new crew members as well.

You might be wondering why there is a rather large flock of finches occupying the open air of the Obs Deck. The obvious answer is that someone left the window open. The unobvious answer is the seemingly innocuous teenager lying on one side of the room, a spellbook she had just run across in her locker open on the floor beside her.

She is entertaining the thought that it's quite tragic that Professor Flitwick can't see the masterpiece flapping around the room, because this spell is a sixth-year charm, and she hasn't even started her fifth year, let alone set foot in the Charms classroom since her exam. Still, she supposes that it helps that Hermione taught her the wandwork for it in one of the D.A. meetings. It did take a while to separate Avis and Oppugno, though, hence the number of aggravated birds using their feathery bodies as projectiles aimed at the occasional sofa or ceiling beam.
1st-Apr-2010 07:06 pm - 'Meat' 'n Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

24th-Mar-2010 06:20 pm - No Place Like Home
Kang was feeling particularly homesick that day.

He was standing on a plateau* in an arid savanna, overlooking a walled city, very obviously medieval in nature, with some areas still in construction. Draconians of brass, bronze, copper, silver, and the rare gold moved about, busy with their daily lives; an oddity was that almost every single one was an adult. There were very few children, and none appeared older than the average human toddler. The occasional dwarf or human was there as well, but not many, and they tended to be in the market area, selling wares.

The bozak still had a bandage on his tail and wing (the one on the latter bigger than it had been before), but the one on his leg was gone, showing a healing gash that was likely to leave a scar. Smiling to himself, he sat down, one knee bent and an arm resting on it.

"...you weren't perfect, but you were mine."

Lost in his thoughts, he didn't notice anyone entering the Sensoriums.

*Look Out Hill, on the map. :D

16th-Mar-2010 03:14 am - CEEEEEELEBRATE GOOD TIMES~
Several buildings in the City had been completely destroyed during Aang's rampage, but a few had survived relatively unscathed. It had only taken Kang two days to repair the Drunken Dragon; he'd done so by himself, not even waiting for his leg to heal up a bit first.

Usually, he didn't bother lighting any candles or using the fireplace in the tavern unless it was a period when the artificial sun had set. He could see perfectly fine in the dim light. For the celebration, though, he'd thrown the windows open wide, scrounged up every candle he could find, and started up a fire, knowing that human vision wasn't as good as his own. The tables surrounding the stage had been cleaned, as well as the tankards, and the door was propped open. The bozak had even wrestled two of the 60-gallon barrels from the back room into a corner of the main room for easier access, one of cactus juice and one of ale. If more was needed, he was sure he could get someone to help bring out another.

Tess had commandeered the kitchen to make her food, bringing in her own equipment. Kang had been slightly afraid at first that she was going to burn the place down, but nothing had happened yet. She seemed to know what she was doing, even if she'd given him a few scares.

The sunlight glistened on the old sword blade teeth and dinnerplate eyes of the comical-looking wooden dragon grinning above the entrance. Come in, relax, have a drink and a bite to eat!

[OOC note: Both drinks are alcoholic, and the cactus juice has twice the kick of the ale. :D;]

21st-Feb-2010 12:43 am - And Things That Will Bite [CLOSED]
Hisk runs. She saw it. She knows what she saw, and the omnicom and ring are so new to her it doesn't even cross her mind to warn others.

Werewolf. Here. On the ship. Running.

She has to kill it. It's what she does. She's a monster hunter, and this is a monster that needs hunting.

It leads her down to the city, just staying on the edge of her vision as it steals around corners. She pours on a burst of speed and finally comes tearing out into a courtyard.

The thing turns to face her here, a snarl rattling deep in its throat. Long bared fangs, slaver, wild yellow eyes. Clawed hands. It's the size of a tall man, but slouched as it stands with long limbs and a slightly short muzzle.

Hisk doesn't stand down, she coolly raises her spear into a fighting stance. Her heart's hammering in her ears as hindsight informs her that it would've been a good idea to find backup.

Too late. She gathers her courage.

"A'right y' mangy, skegging son of a slack-jawed hag! Get back here an' fight me like the man y' ain't!" she yells. The profanity and insults help brace her for the coming fight.

The werewolf barks and charges, and so the fight begins. There's much yelling and snarling.

1st-Jan-2010 03:56 pm - Podpop-ery
[ooc: Newbie Helpers List | Instructions: Post your character with one post establishing them as being podpopped. Tag each other in groups of 2's, 3's, and 4's, to get some interaction to start with. If a thread doesn't already have 2 or 3 people tagged in, tag it with your character's podpop popping near the other people, rather than making a new subthread. If you would like to play out them talking to the AI, please send an email to the mods making the request--we do this only by request. Then move onto the big Newbie Meeting. Once your character has gotten the rundown from the old crew, you may start posting entrance posts and freely tagging.]

||Pod Release Protocols Initating|| Stacy's familiar voice sounds out to all the podmates through the ship.

In the Pod Caverns, there are the sounds of: Pop. Pop pop pop. Poppuhpoppoppop. KASCHUNKhiiiiiiiissssss.

There is condensation and mist spraying out from cracks in the pods, as the people inside slide out onto the floors, covered in slime.
