Jacen hadn't known about the courtyard he was currently seated in. He had explored the city and most of the other parts of the ship he was allowed in, but he had only recently discovered this courtyard. When he first saw it, he had stood at the entrance, eyes glazed over and mouth hanging open. He had caught himself, then shook his head and shut his mouth entering the courtyard and seating himself in the middle of it.

That's where he was now, with his legs crossed and his hands in his lap. He could vaguely hear some sort of a soft rustling in the greenery around him, but he had shut out just about everything around him and focused on his thoughts. They were of his life before now. His friends that weren't here -- that didnt make it here -- he was relieved to see his family appearing slowly but surely (their age didn't matter to him), but there were still people he missed.

Jacen kept telling himself he needed to open up to more others here on the ship, but that had always been a slightly difficult thing for him to do anyways. He figured he would just keep telling himself that and maybe one day it would actually happen.
As usual Tycho had arrived at the designated meeting place at the debriefing room in Rogue Squadron's headquarters a little ahead of time. There was nothing for him to prepare really, but he'd called the meeting, so it was still good for him to be there first.

The room contained a semi-circle of chairs which faced a projector screen, and Tycho sat himself in one of them, looking something over on his datapad as he waited for the others to arrive. Someone who knew him well would see that his jaw muscles were tight, the only outward sign he was showing of how seriously he took this. Deciding what they were going to do about Darth Vader was a Big Deal.

Jaina was where Jaina always was when she felt listless. The hangar. Though, today she isn't working on x-wings. They may have been looking a bit ropey in their ripe old age, but they had always been a reliable design and today she finds their current batch in annoyingly good condition. Certainly nothing that required any major maintenance and she wasn't about to try overclocking them closer to XJ3 standards without clearance.

No, she would need a project. The Falcon was off limits, but there were still a fair few small freighters and transports collecting dust in the back of the hangar. She paced the deck a few times, looking for one that shouted out at her. The one she eventually plumped for is a small, sleek, ray-like star yacht. They were a relatively common sight in the Core Worlds, popularised chiefly by young and affluent thrill-seekers, much to the chagrin of the freight haulers they swept up on the space lanes.

It was perfect. Smugglers liked to use them so she knew it would not only be fast but easily modifiable. The Terriks' Pulsar Skate was supposedly of the same design, though you'd never know by looking at it. And although she wouldn't have nearly enough parts for it yet, the young mechanic could pretty much gut the thing and rebuild it from scratch, exactly how she wanted it. And of course the longer it took, the better.

An hour later she has a section of the hangar bay cornered off to work on it and half-sits, half-lays amid a pool of schematics, scribbling over the interior layouts. Scrap the passengers' quarters for quads here, bolster the shield projectors there...

Several buildings in the City had been completely destroyed during Aang's rampage, but a few had survived relatively unscathed. It had only taken Kang two days to repair the Drunken Dragon; he'd done so by himself, not even waiting for his leg to heal up a bit first.

Usually, he didn't bother lighting any candles or using the fireplace in the tavern unless it was a period when the artificial sun had set. He could see perfectly fine in the dim light. For the celebration, though, he'd thrown the windows open wide, scrounged up every candle he could find, and started up a fire, knowing that human vision wasn't as good as his own. The tables surrounding the stage had been cleaned, as well as the tankards, and the door was propped open. The bozak had even wrestled two of the 60-gallon barrels from the back room into a corner of the main room for easier access, one of cactus juice and one of ale. If more was needed, he was sure he could get someone to help bring out another.

Tess had commandeered the kitchen to make her food, bringing in her own equipment. Kang had been slightly afraid at first that she was going to burn the place down, but nothing had happened yet. She seemed to know what she was doing, even if she'd given him a few scares.

The sunlight glistened on the old sword blade teeth and dinnerplate eyes of the comical-looking wooden dragon grinning above the entrance. Come in, relax, have a drink and a bite to eat!

[OOC note: Both drinks are alcoholic, and the cactus juice has twice the kick of the ale. :D;]

Jacen Solo was seated in the mess hall, yes, but did he have some sort of sustenance in front of him to go along with the place he was seated in? No. He was just sitting at a table, staring blankly to the surface with his hands clasped in his lap and eyes faintly glazed over. No matter where he had been since he arrived here, this was usually how he looked. Completely and utterly lost in thought.

Why had he been brought here? And why had he been brought so soon after he fought for the right to finally relax? It was only days after the war with the Yuuzhan Vong ended. Days.

He had been thinking of traveling around the galaxy, maybe making a stop by Hapes to visit an old friend, maybe stopping by Yavin 4 for a quick round of meditation techniques in the now-ruined Jedi Temple, but no. Not anymore. Now Jacen was left to ponder once more. He was here now. He had met new people (which was usually a plus to him) and he had seen his Aunt and Uncle (he still wondered why they were here too -- and why there had been vague sparks of discomfort when he spoke to them) and he had heard other members of his family were here. Why hadn't he found them?

Jacen didn't want to admit that he probably hadn't found them yet because he was too busy sitting around moping brooding.

His stomach growled at him quite loudly but he was too busy listening to the never-ending chatter of his own thoughts. Just like usual.
1st-Feb-2010 04:23 pm - Once You Pop, The Fun Don't Stop!
[ooc: Newbie Helpers List | Instructions: Post your character with one post establishing them as being podpopped. Tag each other in groups of 2's, 3's, and 4's, to get some interaction to start with. If a thread doesn't already have 2 or 3 people tagged in, tag it with your character's podpop popping near the other people, rather than making a new subthread. If you would like to play out them talking to the AI, please send an email to the mods making the request--we do this only by request. Then move onto the big Newbie Meeting. Once your character has gotten the rundown from the old crew, you may start posting entrance posts and freely tagging.]

||Pod Release Protocols Initating|| Stacy's familiar voice sounds out to all the podmates through the ship.

In the Pod Caverns, there are the sounds of: Pop. Pop pop pop. Poppuhpoppoppop. KASCHUNKhiiiiiiiissssss.

There is condensation and mist spraying out from cracks in the pods, as the people inside slide out onto the floors, covered in slime.

1st-Feb-2010 01:24 pm - Meat n' Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]
