Cassie had received permission from Billy to reserve some of the Special Weapons lab just for this meeting.

Honestly, Cassie had no idea what they were going to talk about but she did have vague plans in mind. Mostly she wanted everyone to get to know each other and hang out.

Until then she was working on a spare project- an Ant-Man helmet. Sure, she was never going to use it, probably because she would never actually get it in working order, but it was something to pass the time.

Isaac had thrown himself into his work. Chymical and thaumaturgical batteries had gone into prototypes that shorted out or blew up in his face. He drew hex lines with paint that ate into the bony tables and caused his head to swim. He connected tubes. Exhaustively, a pair of right handed gauntlets had emerged into shape. Sheet metal, connected to thaumaturgical batteries by power cables that sparked when activated, connected to a Translation Plate which turned a weapon held in the hand into something puissant, glowing with power, an ordinary gun into a roaring tetragrammaton that took puissant bullets, a blade into something Jabber himself might wield.

It was a start...There was still the issue of capacity: the batteries were depleted after only a couple shots.

He stretched and cracked his back, suddenly feeling the ache of hours bent over the bench.

Engineering is, as usual, open, and Allen is putting the very finishing touches on a robotic arm. When he's satisfied the limb is prepped to function on its own, he sits down with a datapad to do some reading. It might not look very exciting to the casual observer, but there's never a dull moment in Engineering if you like reading (and doing) a lot of math.

(ooc: Technically this post is for Paco, but is open to characters investigating Engineering as well.)

The crew dreams.

As they have been for the past while, their dreams are being tampered with, but tonight it's different. Roxie, one of the crew members has done rituals to try to give the crew good dreams. However, the power of the Nightmare King can't easily be overcome, as a result, rather than pleasant or nightmarish, people's dreams are instead taking a turn for the surreal tonight.

Get ready to go down the rabbit hole, Meatship.

The jovial extra terrestrial sporadically giggled at the sight of the imaginary synthetic meat by-product. Exuberance!

Curiouser and curiouser.

There was one bad thing about the constant nightmares that struck - ruining people's sleeping patterns. For awhile, it didn't seem to bother Shadow all that much, but now, it seems that it's finally catching up to him. The last few "nights" on board the ship have been draining, and it's been showing. Especially concerning his runs. A misstep here, a split second action between slamming into someone and missing them.

It all came down to nearly missing a jump in the city that caused Shadow a whole lot of alarm.

"...this is getting ridiculous..." Shadow muttered, panting a bit after recovering from the jump. If he hadn't caught the edge and pulled himself... The hedgehog shook his head and moved over to a "shady" spot on the rooftop.

"I doubt anyone will notice... just a little bit of rest..." Shadow muttered as he sat down and promptly passed out.

Sadly, this is the meatship. Someone IS going to notice...

[ooc: Newbie Helpers List | Instructions: Post your character with one post establishing them as being podpopped. Tag each other in groups of 2's, 3's, and 4's, to get some interaction to start with. If a thread doesn't already have 2 or 3 people tagged in, tag it with your character's podpop popping near the other people, rather than making a new subthread. If you would like to play out them talking to the AI, please send an email to the mods making the request--we do this only by request. Then move onto the big Newbie Meeting. Once your character has gotten the rundown from the old crew, you may start posting entrance posts and freely tagging.]

||Pod Release Protocols Initating|| Stacy's familiar voice sounds out to all the podmates through the ship.

In the Pod Caverns, there are the sounds of: Pop. Pop pop pop. Poppuhpoppoppop. KASCHUNKhiiiiiiiissssss.

There is condensation and mist spraying out from cracks in the pods, as the people inside slide out onto the floors, covered in slime.

1st-Feb-2010 01:24 pm - Meat n' Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]
