Hisk is throwing a party in the Drunken Dragon.

She just hasn't told Kang about it.

It's a general purpose party for the election, for winners and losers (and voters!) alike. EVERYONE is invited!There's beer and real food for all, what more could you ask for?

(OOC: If your character wants to help waiting on people/cooking/what have you, go for it. :D And this is a mingle post so feel free to thread about!)

"We got a bit of a problem down at the tavern," she says as she leads the way.

"Problem? What kind of problem?" Kang asked, worried.

Nathan had finished posting his speech, and was surprised by the message that came up after doing so. Well, why not? He missed parties like the ones back home. Like after his Congressional win.

He was just going to have a drink or two to celebrate. He hadn't got drunk since being on board, and especially not since his start on the staff. And especially not now. An officer can unwind, but still had to be a role model to the crew.

"First Officer Petrelli," Yzak greeted when he recognized the newly appointed crewmember. "Congratulations."

"Mr. Petrelli," Wanda smiled as she drew near. "Congratulations, sir."

Ronon hadn't voted for the man but had seen him enough around the ship to know who he was. He may as well introduce himself to their new First Officer.

"Congratulations, Petrelli," Came the greeting with a half-raised glass. In general, the ex-runner wasn't too fond of the political types.

Yzak had seen the message soon after the results of the election were announced. One thing he found it right to do as a soldier was of course to show his respect to those who were now officially in charge of their new 'home', so he stood at one of the tables. Though he had some bad experiences with leaders and the way they did things in the past, he hoped that circumstances as they were now were enough to not let the experience repeat itself.

Nura doesn't really care about the elections' results. Her and politics do not mix well, according to what occurred upon her world before and after the Legion's rebellion {when it wasn't blown to smithereens, that is...)

However, she does like Wanda (possibly the one person on the ship, besides the Doctor, who makes her feel secure enough to not hold things back). So she's down here, moving towards the bar in her orange dress.

She takes up a drink and takes a first sip. Her lips curl initially, but she keeps face, trying to pretend that she's used to it. "Mmm," she murmurs, lowers her glass, and looks at the liquid. "I really shouldn't be drinking this..."

She moves towards one of the tables, and sees that someone is standing by it. "Excuse me, are you saving this table for anyone?"

Wanda felt like she was walking on air. Not only did she have faith in everyone elected to their positions, but she had actually won a council seat. And so, while she usually didn't indulge herself, she had an alcoholic drink and had a sip. Then she stood up, raised her glass, and spoke loudly.

"I'm sorry, I'm not very good at speeches but I wanted to thank you, all of you, regardless of who you voted for, if you ran and won or lost. You are all incredible people and I am glad to be here with you."

Chaucer could never resist a party; too many interesting people were always congregated, often doing entertaining things. With the celebrations being somewhat partially in his honor, well, how could he possibly make this an exception to his rule? Not that those results felt entirely real to him yet. Honestly, who would choose a herald, a writer to represent their wishes?

But he would do his best, certainly, and it would be something productive to attempt.

In the meantime he had a drink and a chair at a table with a decent view of goings on. The writer had no speech for this occasion, not yet, just observation and enjoyment.

After getting a good dosage of alcohol in him, he went to congratulate the new council member.

"You're good with your words." Instead of saying a simple 'congratulations', Ronon had shared his opinion of Chaucer instead. Oops.

"You appear remarkably pleased with yourself." Javert stood beside the writer, eyebrow raised. Whether or not he had been there five seconds ago, no one could say.

"It appears pretty words do win hearts and minds before sensible tongues." Never mind that he had voted for Chaucer, himself. That was only expected.

Some months ago, Cassie had warned the crew about the perils of alcohol on a growing brain. But some months ago the bitch witch who killed her father hadn't been elected as council member. Not to mention the gaps in her memory.

She really shouldn't be doing this.

Oh screw it. They were all going to die soon anyway.

"I need alcohol. Lots of it."

"Let me guess: you voted for the kid, didn't you?" Shadow said, noticing Cassie and her need for alcohol. That, and he wanted to keep poking fun at Sasami and the fact that she lost like a sore loser.

"Don't worry, I understand the waste of votes. Then again, I voted for her, too." he said, going for his own cup.

He's 50+. Leave him alone.

Jonas sat down beside her, without saying a word. He was well aware of why she was drinking, and he could not really fault her for the desire. He did not think it was the best idea she had ever had, but he thought that he could keep her from getting into too much trouble -- if only by making sure that she drank plenty of water besides.

Sometime later Kate might have had a drink if that, but she eyed her friend worriedly.

Being a member of a council of sorts wasn't new to Superman: having lead numerous incarnations of the Justice League, it felt exactly like that. However, noticing those partying, he had to wonder about those who lost, especially the child who participated.

While he wasn't one to really drink, he didn't mind having a little to keep with the celebrations.

Euphemia had lost, but she told herself she didn't really mind. She hadn't been here long, after all, and surely the people who had been elected would serve the crew as best they could. So she went to the celebration party with high spirits, though she didn't imbibe any alcohol -- even if Britannia was no more, she still didn't think of herself as old enough.

She obtained a glass of soda, and found herself sitting down next to a man she didn't recognize. "It was rather interesting, wasn't it?"

Well, here's one loser who isn't having an issue. Nightwing is all smiles as he comes up and claps Superman on the shoulder. "You have that look on your face that you're thinking too much. And believe me, I know the way that looks." He grinned, offering his hand. "Congratulations, Kal."

Kang was feeling pretty damn good. He'd gotten used to doing work around the tavern whenever he was there, but Hisk refused to let him that night; he wasn't going to argue, so he'd found himself a seat near one of the windows and was happily watching the crowd with a drink of his own in hand. He knew how much work was ahead of him, but this night? This night was about celebrating a victory, his and all the others'.

Sofia was happy. She didn't have much invested in the election, but she was glad to see more organization on the ship. And really, she was glad for any excuse to have a party, especially if it involved beer.

Now, if only they had music.

Julian was in a good mood. Not that he cared much about the elections either way, but it was settled and there was a party and booze and...

...and there was Sofia.

Last time he had seen her, she exploded at him over... well, probably over the situation with Kara. And she did have every right to still be pissed at him over that. But, it had been a while... and they should at least talk at some point. And...

...and after waiting for her to have at least a few drinks in her, he finally approached.

Well, it wouldn't do to have the new Captain be a recluse, would it? So, though he knew he wouldn't stay too long, Leon decided to stop by the celebration for a bit. No harm in relaxing a little bit.

"You're Captain Kennedy I take it? Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams." She had sipped her drink earlier and gave a slight smile to Leon despite her words.

And this, everyone, is a Kaylee halfway through her second (maybe third) Bottle of Whatever. Her mind is elsewhere, which she'll blame on the booze if questioned too much about spacing, but she's smiling and laughing the time away. Approach if you dare and aren't terrified of hugs and/or kisses.

Like a detective to trouble, Billy is quick to find Kaylee celebrating with a bottle. He knows that alcohol is an important part of social rituals, but its implications could be happy or sad. Or both.

"...Kaylee? There you are, I've been wondering what you thought about this."

He moves closer, trying not to look too worried and cause her to bat him away, but he is worried.

Tobias is there to enjoy a little of the happiness surrounding his father at the moment. Although things were tense with Tom and Aftran at the moment, they were going great with his family, he had to admit.
