1st-Jan-2011 02:54 pm - Meat n' Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

19th-Nov-2010 01:00 pm - [Open]
It was strange what a coma could do to you. Put you out cold for a certain expanse of time, leaving you to wake up with the most curious feeling that things have passed you by and left you to stumble and figure out for yourself just what has happened. And Ben, while wonderful and incredibly helpful on helping her fill in the blanks on what she'd heard, could only go so far in helping Nura understand things.

The same could be said about the med bay.

Which was why Nura had left immediately that morning.

Now, she was in the hangar, inside the Calnus, with the diagnostic try open in her lap as she sat in the Captain's seat, pouring over the contents. The coma had robbed her of the time she needed to properly study the diagnostic tray. She was sure that Reimi wouldn't test her right after she learned Nura had woken, but still...

"Let's see..." She ran her index finger down the page, eyes going back and forth and she read on and on. "The start-up button would be about..." she raised her other hand's finger above the control panel in front of her. "...here." She pressed her finger down, not realizing that she’d pressed all the way down on the button, activating it.

She turned a page. "And..." Beneath her feet, the ship started to hum. The bit of darkness she was bathed in, excluding the lamp above her, disappeared as a wash of light from above filled the ship. Nura looked up from the book. Her eyes went immediately to the screen, which was now lit, with the readings filing through, telling her that take-off was sound.

"I’m in trouble."
17th-Nov-2010 09:53 am - Thunderzord Power Test [semi-closed]
Unfortunately, Billy knew, there was no sufficiently large space on the ship for Stacy to allow a true test of the bright and colorful death mecha the Power Rangers knew as the Thunderzords. With some help from Lash he'd run repairs and diagnostics on each one, and he was reasonably sure that they would be in working order when the need to use them arose, but there was no way to get around this first test's artificial nature.

Zord usage wasn't particularly dangerous, but it might make a decent safety precaution. Billy took solace in that much as he morphed and prepared.

Once the Sensorium was his for the next hour or two, Billy set about the preparations. The scenery changed to a dusty California desert, much like the one that hid the Command Center on his world. In a wide circle around the meeting place, the six Thunderzords rose up in all their intimidating height. Behind the Tigerzord was Dustin's Lionzord, which would serve as a model during the lesson if the Wind Ranger was willing. Raised about two stories off the ground was a round desert platform for audience members, which would elevate and move to follow the battle's actions as needed.

Billy had a monstrous opponent in mind, one that he hoped would be a good preliminary challenge. Now it was his time to roll his helmet in his hands, stand, and wait, hoping that this lesson wouldn't end in disaster.

((The main part of the log is closed to the Rangers, but audience participation and mocking is encouraged! Billy deliberately left the door open so the other crew members could see what they can do and maybe offer advice.))

1st-Nov-2010 02:37 pm - The Rebirth of Veronica (Phase One)
[ooc: PLOT POST IS HERE! Read it!]

He stalked through the hallways like a shadow, moving too quickly for anyone to keep a bead on him for long. There almost seemed to be a purpose in his movement as he made his way through the dark corridors of the ship, though it was impossible to tell where he was headed. Perhaps the young man whose body had been hijacked was exerting some kind of control, or perhaps Veronica was doing the driving.

Whatever the case, the Tyrant made his way to the City.

He emerged from the tunnels and into the wide open space, at last free of the cramped hallway. He took a few steps into the streets and sniffed the air, smelling human blood. He roared, a horrible and twisted noise, then headed into the streets.

She demanded they all bow to her. They were little more than prey for the Queen in the grand scale of things. These thoughts rang hollow in a primal mind, though, but he knew what he had to do.

They would all die.

28th-Oct-2010 08:38 pm - Halloween Party
Who knows why the ship was doing this. Maybe it was some kind of social experiment. Maybe Stacy was feeling festive and somewhere, out there, it was Halloween. Maybe the players just wanted to have Halloween fun. No one would ever know, would they.

In any case, what better place for a Halloween dance than a graveyard? In an area in the center, clear of headstones, there was a dance floor, and there were seats and tables with skeletal frames. Somehow grisly carved torches and jack-o-lanterns of varying sizes and shapes, cast enough eerie light to light up the place, despite the fact it was night. There were places to bob for apples, popcorn balls on strings strung up for people to try to eat for games involving that. The food tables will full of Halloweeny snacks and candy.

Far off, there was a haunted house, decrepit and foreboding. It seemed people could look into it if they dared sent down the dark trail to where it was. [ooc: Haunted house post link forthcoming].

Creepy--but danceable music was playing, from nowhere.

Perhaps most notable was the fact that the moment someone entered the Sensorium, they would find themselves in a costume. Sometimes these costumes would be what the character themselves would choose, but sometimes they'd be dressed as something strange, embarrassing, or just something they wouldn't even recognize. Leaving and coming back wouldn't fix the problem, in most cases. The costumes wouldn't change, and if they did, it wasn't guaranteed that they'd change to something better.

Whatever the case, party hard, Meatship. Somebody's got to teach the Vikings, draconians, aliens, and other sundry people to Thriller dance.
cityship: (Meanwhile...)
Having posted his call for the Rangers to report to the Command Center immediately whenever they had time, there was little Billy could do but stand in the circle of consoles and wait. With dim blue lights twinkling along the walls, he could just about see his hand in front of his face.

Maybe he should have asked someone to bring a flashlight.

Shaking that thought off, he started preparing a speech for the others in his head, reminding himself of all the rules and ideals. The threshold of a new beginning. What an exciting and nerve-wracking place to be.

I wish you were here, Billy thought as the light reflected off the empty glass tube. But wishing wouldn't bring anyone back, as the past year had proven. The Rangers were his responsibility now, and he'd have to improvise.

Starting with the first few Rangers. He hoped they would make it through the door safely, and further that they wouldn't trip.

((A guest will be dropping in already, but depending on how the conversation goes others might be asked to come by later. Let's go!))

8th-Oct-2010 10:34 pm - To Virus Or Not To Virus
Dustin being well... Dustin, decided to help out with the City people to see if anyone needed help. Because that's what Dustin does, he helps. So despite the brief painful encounter with a stranger as he headed to the City, he was ready to help. Even if he felt a tad weird, almost a clammy feeling in his head. He arrived at entrance and moved quickly

"Man, that little guy can sure bite hard..." He said very annoyed at the pain.

2nd-Oct-2010 02:01 pm - Podpop
[ooc: Newbie Helpers List | Instructions: Post your character with one post establishing them as being podpopped. Tag each other in groups of 2's, 3's, and 4's, to get some interaction to start with. If a thread doesn't already have 2 or 3 people tagged in, tag it with your character's podpop popping near the other people, rather than making a new subthread. If you would like to play out them talking to the AI, please send an email to the mods making the request--we do this only by request. Then move onto the big Newbie Meeting. Once your character has gotten the rundown from the old crew, you may start posting entrance posts and freely tagging.]

||Pod Release Protocols Initating|| Stacy's familiar voice sounds out to all the podmates through the ship.

In the Pod Caverns, there are the sounds of: Pop. Pop pop pop. Poppuhpoppoppop. KASCHUNKhiiiiiiiissssss.

There is condensation and mist spraying out from cracks in the pods, as the people inside slide out onto the floors, covered in slime.
