It had been the usual mission briefing, not that any of them remembered it. The crew knew they were gone and had no idea when they'd be back, and likely wouldn't attempt rescue for quite some time, especially with Stacy considering the mission "ongoing."

They had no idea when they'd be back, either, namely because they never remembered being on the ship in the first place.

It was home. It had always been home.

Welcome to Fairplay, Iowa, folks, happiest little town in the Midwest.

For the first time in, well... ever, Sasami had seemed to be happy. Or at the very least, relaxed. Since the whole Punishment thing, she had started to try to prioritize everything around her. Her talk with Alessa and her time with Hay Lin made her realize that trying to be a grown up was probably not the best thing at all.

Even if, as Hit-Girl once pointed out, she had her foot in the inner workings of the Command.

At the moment, though, Sasami had opted to spend some time in the sensoriums, recreating a simple lake scene and just using this area to relax. Anyone who would walk in would probably spot her resting by a tree, her hair down and draped over her body somewhat...

...and a big, happy smile on her face.
aaaaaaaaaAAARGH!

The noise seemed to come from out of nowhere, a wail of frustration raising in pitch until a part of the wall in a less-than-crowded section opened, spitting out a peeved-looking girl in red.

And was she peeved.

"Damn you, you stupid cowardous computer! We're not done yet!" She yelled at the wall which, for all intents and purposes, was as good as new. "Get out here, Glados!"

With a frustrated expression, she pointed her hammer (which was pretty large, come to think of it, larger than usual) at the wall. "Don't make me SMASH my way in!"

[OOC: Yeah. I fail. Anyway, Vita evidently got swallowed by Glados and was busy testing stuff. She's back and angry.]

Hayate had chosen a relatively non-descript and empty room in the WITCH Bus; to her, it seemed perhaps the place least likely for Stacy to spy on her, but for extra certainty she'd lined the floor with some soft, thick sheets to sit on, and she had more sheets (quite large ones, in fact). And flashlights. But the reason why one could only guess.

She clicked a pen tip in and out repeatedly against the surface of blank pages on a clip board as she waited for her staff to show up. Even when everyone else save for Vita had more seniority on the ship than Hayate did, she'd been long used to feeling like the boss. The friendly boss, but the boss.
Beastboy had to admit, it was kind of difficult to stay indoors at a time like this.

But he had his orders, to keep the Outsider's hotel open for refuge from the Tyrant and keep it safe should he stumble in their direction. As much as his hero instincts begged him to run out there and look for a fight he stood his ground in the front entrance way of the hotel scanning the street for people.

Every now and then he'd turn into a bird and circle the building watching and listening for trouble, the city was alive with it today and he just knew with their luck it wouldn't be long before trouble found it's way to their front door.
27th-Oct-2010 05:58 pm - Tavros: What problems? [OPEN]
How long has he been on the ship, a couple of weeks? Three? Time's flown by for the dorky little troll, and he's stopped keeping track. It doesn't seem to matter much, anyway. People go about their business, drama rises and falls, and for the most part he stays out of it.

As much as he's gotten to know and like this mostly-human crew, he has to admit it sucks being the only Alternian on the ship. He'd love to see another grey face or be able to talk about his custodian without having to stop and explain what they are. And of course, there's the matter of the evaluations. He has no idea what to expect or what's going to happen if he fails. When he fails, maybe. Conversations with Alex have made it obvious to him how different troll culture is from the basic human one that governs the ship. Are they going to judge him by their standards? Will he be culled if he answers wrong?

But enough of these depressing thoughts. Alex has been spending time with Luna lately, which has left Tavros free to explore the ship by himself. Today he's decided to see what these sensoriums can really do. First comes the easy part, reconstructing his hive and the area around it purely from memory. Barn, cliffs, and far below, the strip of beach and glittering dark ocean beyond. He's done this before. The darkness is just as comforting as it was the first time.

Now for the hard part.

Tavros closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. Happy thoughts, that's how it works, think of good things, and...

He doesn't open his eyes until he feels the wheelchair drop away beneath him. He's still amazed to find himself suspended in the air, nearly seven feet off the ground.

He's flying!

He can't help it. Even homesickness and evaluations can't bring him down now. Grinning happily, Tavros takes off, swooping this way and that, only stopping near cloud level to have another look around. The forest, the ocean, the distant glow and thrum of a city just beyond the horizon, and above him...

Tavros smiles. He's spent enough time staring at these stars to replicate some of the constellations without Stacy's help. And let's not forget the moons, the huge baleful green one and the other tiny and pink.

None of this is going to fix any of his problems, but as far as distractions go, rearranging the stars is a pretty good one.

((OOC: Feel free to hop in! I'm never too busy for another thread. And don't worry, your character should be able to float or "walk" on the open air near him, unless you particularly feel like having them drop like a stone, in which case Tavros will do his best to save them. XD))
12th-Oct-2010 08:16 am - The Outsiders: Meeting 2
It was going to be their second meeting, and she already had an idea from Beastboy that he'd drummed up some interest in some the newly pod popped. So she'd been making alterations to the Outsider headquarters all day, from checking out the intercom and monitors Billy fixed (she needed Alex's help for that) to helping to set the new carpet in the lobby to preparing the pool for the training session. It was absolutely important that today grow well: she was going to tell the group she was trying to petition Leon to get them more involved in missions. Even if he said no, there were chances that they as individuals would be pulled into some dangerous situation and then all that training WOULD come in handy, wouldn't it? Either way the training would be coming in handy, as would meeting the people that would come to the second meeting. In a way, the second meeting was more important than the first: the second told you who was staying, who hadn't just popped in for the snacks and a few laughs. She still had those of course: chips and dip and a few sandwiches were already set up for people who were hungry.

As for her, all of this work had already made her really sweaty and stinky, so she was taking a dip in the pool to clean herself off, careful to only do so in the shallow part of the water reserved for small kids: once she was good and clean, she would flush that water out, and fill it with clean water again. For now, she wanted to make sure everything went perfectly. Of course, she was also nude for this, so she figured if Beastboy dropped in now, she'd have to dry off pretty quickly.

So far though: room were all clean, conference room was a-okay and the lobby was spotless. For the moment she could relax. She'd be ready in a few minutes.

If anyone were to walk into the sensoriums today they would find themselves stepping into an eerie scene.

A dark graveyard with mist settling along the uneven ground, tombs cracking and crumbling, dark leaf less trees reaching crooked limbs like claws, the pale moon peering out through the dark clouds casting shadows along everything hiding anything that might be lurking and waiting.

This was the special training round Beastboy had set up for the Outsiders, but anyone could happen upon it. He was lurking somewhere in this graveyard pulling the strings for now.

She'd made her way to the Media library, the only place she figured would be a good p[lace for her to start looking up all of the shit that went down. There was a lot of information here, and she figured it would be the first place to start researching on the Ohm and the affect they were having on other worlds. She had already had an idea on the pathetic ass recon on the Ohm that some people had, but as far as she knew there seemed to be an easy going way about the people on the ship that she didn't like. Oh sure, there were some fledgling associations and some people were definitely more interested than others in eradicating the Ohm threat, but this was Hit girl on the job, and she was the type to not care what other sloppier people did.

So now, she could care less than she was one of the younger people on the crew underestimated because of her age. She could care less that her first attempt to collect information via the network had been maligned by some prick. She didn't even care that there were these fucking double standards on adults and teenagers and kids, who were supposedly the lower part of the chain here. What she did care about was that it was very likely that she would not know what it was like to be IN a normal situation for herself anymore: what proof did she have that she couldn't trust any of these people without them looking down on her? No, her vendetta against the Ohm was her own, and if she had to go it alone, well, more power to her. She was used to that.

It wasn't like Big Daddy was around to help with that, like in the old days. Sucky as it was, she could have used his help.
Today, amidst the turmoil that was the meatship and its wayward crew, three of its members found themselves released from GLaDOS's clutches in three separate corners of their domain. Following is an objective analysis of their respective predicaments, cool and unbiased as per usual:

In this corner, the Observation Deck, one amnesiac alien. )

In this corner, the hallways by the Crew Quarters, one cranky birthday genius. )

And in this corner, the transportation tubes by the Medbay, one that is a combination of the two mentioned previous. )

[ooc: Hello, meatship! :D;; Uhm. So I kinda thought I would be back last week, but that didn't happen, and I also considered tagging into some threads instead of doing this monster post, but that didn't happen for reasons relating directly to my not being able to tag last week. So have a monster post instead! Just, ah, mention who you're prodding in the subject line, if you would. Sorry for the delay!]
Vita, still dressed in a strange dress that actually was magical armor, was exploring the ship.

In other words, what looked like a kid with a weird fashion sense, armed only with a criquet mallet, was walking alone through possibly dangerous terrain. What could go wrong there?

To be more precise, she was actually not exploring, but looking for wherever Hayate was now. She knew her mistress was on the ship, after all.

"Oi, Hayate." She tried to send telepathically, through the link, though she wasn't sure if this would work here.
The ship sure was big...
2nd-Oct-2010 02:03 pm - Meet-n-Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]
