Title: Adaptive Learning
Location: Stacy; The Sensoriums

Renne had hoped his message through the communication systems had been clear. Having given this much thought, he'd sent the message in hopes that he could offer something useful, even if only once, to those he calls crewmates.

For perhaps the hundredth time, he mulls over his plans as he stands in a Sensorium chamber; the place left utterly pitch black.

He'd asked for all light in here to be eliminated. He'd asked for enhancements, magical or otherwise in here to be nullified.

His intent is to teach the meaning of true-blindness and how to function when under its eternally dark veil.

Luke didn't feel the sweat trickling down his back until he paused for breath, and realized he was soaked.

It was easy for him to lose himself in the Force like this when he was practicing.  Before waking up here, he'd used remotes, three and four at a time firing stinging bolts at him.  It was an exercise in concentration as much as anything, but it served to keep his mind and  body busy too.  And while he didn't have the remotes here to practice with, Luke remembered the forms he'd learned as clearly as if they'd been taught to him yesterday.  He'd come down here, in need of some distraction - a very un-Jedi like thing to need - and had started to practice.

It didn't bother him too much, looking back on it; Luke knew that Mara, Ben, and the others had been returned to the pods, and that they were safe aboard.  He didn't have to worry about them, or anyone else in his family, or even people not related to him.  He probably wouldn't have anyway, but Luke made deep bonds with those he called friend, and it helped to know that when all this was over, they'd be okay.

But he was here because a Jedi needed to be focused, and not dwelling on things that were out of the control of one person.  Igniting his blade, Luke brought his concentration back up, and prepared for the next form.

Some people had said he ought to train.

Some people seemed to need training.

Some people he wanted to teach.

And the Overlord felt like being productive.

So he'd grabbed a sensorium, shut the safeties off, set up shop, and sent out a call. And divided the sensorium into three distinct parts...

Shiki had finally found some time to check out the media library. Scouring the collection, he desperately sought for any hints on how to cure the blood thirst of vampires. A certain blonde-haired True Ancestor filled his thoughts as he sighed from his longing to be by her side. Even before the events of waking up covered in slime, the woman he loved was forced to sleep somewhere far away; she dreamed of their time together when she still had control over her thirst.

His mood continued to sour as nothing he looked at could offer any help. Alone in the library, he let his cheerful exterior go as his longing for Arcueid became almost unbearable.
Now that the City was once again open for exploration Alex and Tavros agreed to  make thier way down to fetch from the city a table on which they could play card games and store video games.

Unfortunately, the desk-sized table was too big to fit into Tavros's captchalogue. Even more unfortunately, neither of the pair were particularly physically skilled. As a result, they were moving very slowly down the city streets, trying to awkwardly balance the long table between them, and failing miserably... repeatedly, even with the help of Alex's shadow tendrils. He just wasn't able to concentrate on enough of them to really make them very useful.

"Tavros, g-g-grab that l-le- argh!" He show one of his tendrils out to catch the side that was slipping, only to have another one of them dissipate. He stops, so that the pair could both rest and bask in their failure.

((Let's keep it to one thread please. Feel free to hop in whenever!))
With everything that has happened since he awakened on the ship, Shiki was overcome with the gravity of the situation. The weight of everything was not helping his frail body, and he suffered from one of his anemic spells shortly after the "Meet and Greet" concluded. Taking a chance to collect himself, Shiki bid farewell to everyone in the pod room after asking for directions for the Medbay. He may not know much the world he was in now, but hopefully they can run a diagnostic and possibly treat him.

If anything, they should have a comfy bed for him to lie down in, right?
2nd-Oct-2010 02:03 pm - Meet-n-Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]
