Of malfunctioning portals, parks and dragons [Open]
Taking some time from other projects, Celena had once more brought down her Paired Gate device down to the park in an attempt to work on a number of issues of the operation of the device while in the Bleed. After all if a stable gate could be established, even for short periods of time, it could make for quick travel about the city and about the ship in general.
Thus in her usual draconic form she had set herself before the primary end of the gate device in the middle of a large clearing in the park, with the secondary portion of the device not a hundred feet away. After some time in pondering the problem she had decided to take a break from her work. Locking the device down she stretched herself out and padded away to wander the park for a short while before taking off to stretch her wings. Keeping her general flight path around the vicinity of the park itself.
[OOC: Feel free to run into her at any point, whether while she's working on the device, wandering the park or even flying around overhead!]

He approached slowly -- he knew dragons weren't necessarily bad people, but, well, they were still big and scary. "What's that...?" he asked.

"This? A Paired Gateway System, a means of rapid transport between two locations," She explained easily before gesturing to the device and the secondary portable section, "I've been looking into getting past the interference that all such methods of transit seem to experience while in the bleed,"

"It has been proven to work already in real space, it is just a matter of whether it can be properly stabilized for use while in transit,"

"Hello to you as well," she says, bowing slightly in deference to the dragon. "Am I mistaken, or are you Miss Celena Vantari?"

He turned his head to the device. "Is this yours or something?"

That looked like... But how?
As her shock began to pass, Cassie remembered that Marco and Ax had mentioned that there were dragons on the ship. Marco had apparently befriended one dragon, a female one named Celena, enough that she had allowed him to acquire her DNA. Other then that, she didn't know much of the dragons on the ship, but she hadn't heard that any of them were a threat.
Raising her hand, she called out to the dragon, hoping that the dragon could hear her even at this distance. "Hello!"
(OOC: If you'd rather not have them meet now then that's fine. Just let me know. Also, please let me know if I start doing poorly with my tags at any time. Thank you. :) )

"Greetings!" She called down in return as she circled overhead once before dipping her flight to bring herself down with graceful ease nearby, landing with but a single backstroke of her large wings, folding them in against her side as she padded towards the one who had greeted her. One with whom she was unfamiliar, perhaps one who had only recently been release?
(OOC: I'm fine with them meeting now! Likewise do let me know if I do as well, and welcome :) )

She walked over to meet the dragon and smiled. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Cassie."

Maintaining a gating complex again would do her good. If they could get something set up, she would dearly love to have it in Grand Central Station. Maybe she could convince Celena of that much.
Rhiow realized her thoughts were getting away with her when she walked right over Celena. After long habit, she was using the air-walking spell to get around. It had worked in Manhattan - the only difference was here she didn't need to sidle. Please use this shape now, she told the air, holding a picture of stairs in her mind. She walked down the air and jumped lightly to the ground in front of Celena. "Hunt's luck - how's it coming?"
no subject
Smiling down to her once she had jumped down onto the ground once more she dipped her head in greetings, "And to you, I have been looking into ways of stabilizing a gate while in the bleed, so far it has proved rather resistant, to be expected however. On the other hand, while in real space it has managed to repeatedly establish stable gateways at numerous distances and sizes,"
no subject
Worldgating didn't work in the Bleed because of Stacy's varying temporal state, but if Rhiow could put a piece of wizardry that could convince the gate that time in this subsection of reality was linear, they might be able to get somewhere.

She saw the dragon wandering through the park, like she herself had intended to do for just a bit, and she cast a casual wave in her direction. "Hey, Celena."
((ooc: I hope it's okay that this is so late :c ))

It did not take long at all even despite her thoughts to notice Rachel, after all there was a reason Kang had selected her for his Intelligence division. Extending a wing everso slightly in emulation of the gesture as she smiled across to the familiar human, "Hello, Rachel,"
((ooc: I don't mind at all!))

She stopped at what she thought was a decent distance. "Keeping busy?"
